Section 34, iirc, of the wildlife act 1976 as amended does not permit the use of dart. Spear, and other missiles to be used to the control of fauna.

Vermin is a word we use but has no place jn law. Animals and birds can categorised as:

Protected - no season

Protected - specified open season

Protected - constant open season.

All wildlife is protected under the wildlife act with exceptions made for some species like deer, duck, pheasant during the open season and no exceptions for fully protected species such as seals, otters, pine marten, etc.

Everything else like fix, rabbit, rat, etc. have a constant open season, all year, but are not exempt from the methods used to control them so while we call them vermin the methods used to control them must still abide by the law.
