Great win. The game will stand to them ahead of semi final v KK

good win , kept limerick at arms length for much of the game, suspiciously long 5 minutes extra time, thankfully the gap only widened

Made hard work of it I. The end but got the win. Killkenny in 2 weeks imagine it will be thurles

Great win for the minors. Good to see our underage teams starting to compete again.

Brilliant win, never do things easy though

No fear going into the semi finals, you'd miss the old system where we'd get a game in Croke Park

Done very well to close that out, Comerfords save and Lynch’s hook after his initial mistake were huge in the 2nd half, looking forward to a crack off Kilkenny now even if they’ll be underdogs

Not a vintage performance but did enough. Impressed with Keane and Lynch in full back line again. Thought the half back line had their best game of the year and switching Kennedy back worked well. He seems much more comfortable facing the ball and came out with plenty of it. Quann linked play well around the middle. Jack Power as ever awesome in the air. Still a worry that we don’t have any other outlet for our puckouts though. Spain inside is just lethal, from play and frees. Jamie Shanahan a very effective player. Comerford had a great save at a vital stage too.

Kilkenny will be a big step up, they have been consistent challengers at this age group throughout the years but there’s nothing to fear.

well done minors great to see

anyone see kk this year yet. I caught a bit of the game v Galway who looked very poor so hard to judge. Thought they (waterford) continued to make unforced errors and gifted limerick a lot of scores such as the goal 😡 have a habit of overplaying and taking poor / most difficult option and ending up being overturned.

Yes I've seen them (Kilkenny) a couple of times and they are very good, but so are our lads so let's see how they go.

Briliant to see a Waterford underage team doing well

There was a couple of lengthy enough stoppages in the second half tbf

well done minors. Hoping they can drive on now and beat the cats. what a tonic it would be to get into an AI minor final after a miserable couple of months for Waterford hurling

Waterford rode their luck but got there in the end. Often times, we would have been caught at the death but fair play to all concerned. Definitely some decent prospects are emerging from that group.

Likely to be on in Thurles next Sunday - i might head up, be good to go to a game in June!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,791 ✭✭✭Asdfgh2020

Defo in with a shout…..need to improve their shot selection and less short passing in the half back/middle area and get plenty of the right balls into forwards particularly spain. Can’t affords too many incidents like what led to the Lk Goal yesterday….🥲. On the other side of the draw it’s obviously Clare / Galway v Cork…..? Would Fancy that to be Clare cork semi.

Ye I would imagine a double header, way V kk and Clare V Cork.

Wexford park would be a right location for our game but Thrurles is central for all four counties so one would expect a double header there.

Won't be Sunday anyway with kilkenny playing the leinster final in croke park. Maybe Saturday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 312 ✭✭waterfordgirl

Munster final is Saturday evening isnt it? Busy weekend!

Per the GAA master fixtures list, the semi finals are the w/e 14th June with the final two weeks later.

Minor SF v Kilkenny on Sat 14th June at 19:35 in Wexford Park

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,695 ✭✭✭decies

All Ireland Minor Hurling Semi Finals
Sat 7.35 Waterford v Kilkenny Wexford Park TG4
    Sun 1.00 Cork v Clare Thurles 1.00 TG4

Thurles double header would just be too obvious !!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 191 ✭✭Pudz2180

sensible thing was a double header in thurles, would have got a nice crowd from the 4 counties and would have been a bit of an atmosphere around but feck that let’s bring Waterford and Kilkenny all the way down to Wexford for a half 7 throw in on Saturday evening. You would wonder at times

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 306 ✭✭spideyman92

The only thing about Thurles is that the Senior Quarter Finals are the same weekend so they're probably looking at having at least one of those fixtures in Thurles.

Wexford Park at half 7 of Saturday is silly though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,527 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

QFs are the weekend after, the Preliminary QFs are that weekend but Laois and Kildare will have home advantage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 306 ✭✭spideyman92

Ah yea completely misread the calendar haha. There must be something else on though in some other code I'd imagine since the other minor semi is fixed for Thurles at 1 on the Sunday which is usually the first of a double header slot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,922 ✭✭✭914

I don't know Wexford is a handy spin and a good road. Probably not as handy from the west of the county, but definitely a shorter spin than Thrurles, from some parts or much the same

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,501 ✭✭✭Mastermcgrath

Wexford is a handy spin and a decent venue, but our lads would never have played there before while Kilkenny lads will know the venue well. I feel like Thurles would have been been better for us having played there 3 times already this year. Anyways, best of luck lads

Would it have been better to toss for home/away with Kilkenny
