Got the latest QPR beta for Android 16 this morning. The new material UI is lovely. Tighter notifications, more haptics, updated UI elements and extra animations. It's the biggest change to the UI in a long time…

Yeah I downloaded it during the week and I'm loving it so far, the battery seems to be better than all the previous non-QPR A16 betas I was in. Only issue I currently have/had was that dark system theme just seemed inconsistent or off, I've swapped to the light theme for now but will play around with it more at the wkend.

Turn on the bold font in the settings. Makes everything extra crispy. 🙂

What would people recommend as a replacement charger? I'm looking at Anker 45w on Amazon for 19€, anything else? Got a fake last time so will only order direct from Amazon or another site

I generally get Anker or Ugreen chargers. Used to buy from the 'official shop' on Aliexpress, but have found the Amazon prices are fairly close which I prefer because of faster delivery and easier returns.

Look for a charger that has the following 2 standards:

USB-PD (USB Power Delivery) This is the overarching standard for fast charging over USB-C.

PPS (Programmable Power Supply) - This is a critical component of USB-PD 3.0 (and higher) that allows for more granular control over voltage and current. This "on-the-fly" adjustment means the charger can deliver power more efficiently and with less heat, leading to faster charging and potentially better battery longevity. Pixels explicitly benefit from PPS for their fastest charging speeds.

Watched MKBHD's latest video which focuses on switching from iPhone to Android. Posting because he mentioned apps for journaling re the Pixel 10. I've checked my P8 and it's not compatible, which is disappointing.

Separately, I see the alarm and clock timer settings on my phone had a bit of a design tweak recently.

Has anyone else's battery life gone to absolute ****? Mine is terrible, even when not using the phone (e.g. I lost about 25% overnight). Anything I can do? Don't want to get rid of a phone that is working perfectly aside from the battery

Anything in Battery Usage? Check settings. The current version of Android shows both screentime and background time. Might highlight a rogue app. I'm on an 8 Pro and the battery is still great for me.

Do you have one with a "bigsurf" screen? If so, they contain a manufacturing fault and get a refurbished model. My refurbished phone was essentially brand new. 0 battery cycles.

Details on how to check here:
