If this keeps up I reckon in a couple of weeks there'll be talk of the UN finding a new home.

A UN building in Dublin would be more than welcome. It would be great for Ireland.

EU issuing burner phones and basic laptops to officials travelling to the USA

Normally reserved for trips to China or Ukraine where risk of IT surveillance is high.

Jesus wept, who'd have predicted that last November?

Re: the poor dude that is illegally held in a foreign territory; against the will of the supreme court… can they not just send Marshalls in to free him, take him back to the US and allow due process to happen?

Of all the **** the Trump admin are pulling; I honestly believe this is the most troubling. Everyone on the planet should be demanding Andry José Hernández is released and returned.. because it's only gonna be the start of it if they think they can get away with it once

Trump has openly floated the idea of citizens coming under the same type of punishment.

    Trump on Zelenskyy!

"He's always looking to purchase missiles. Listen, when you start a war, you gotta know you can win a war. You don't start a war against somebody that's 20 times your size and then hope that people give you some missiles."

What a despicable c*nt. I don't know if he genuinely believes Ukraine started the war or if he is just parroting Russian propaganda, but either way, he is a sh*t stain on the American history books.

I honestly think it’s getting to the stage where these sorts of statements are going to have to be made. Of course the MAGA crowd wouldn’t care. Ditching the dollar as the worlds reserve currency is another thing I heard mooted. That would hit them hard. It seems to be the only way stop this clown show.

Just seen a pic of the lad that was illegally deported and their all calling to be brought back ,gang banger tatts all over him ,look at the pics and Google what each one means ,might shut a few people up .

    .

Surely we're not saying having certain tattoos disqualifies someone from due process?

That's not the point. He had gone before a judge in 2019 who said he cannot be deported to El Salvador and was given a work permit. ICE then suddenly decided this year his status had randomly changed without any further due process and was shipped off to El Salvador's prison. The government's lawyer than admitted in court that his deportation was a mistake but the Trump administration is doing nothing to correct that mistake, and even worse, is practically celebrating the fact he is in prison. They are also ignoring the SC on this matter.

No amount of tattoos can make that sequence of events ok.

Feel free to go ahead and share a picture and explain each of the tattoos that means someone is now exempt from due process and Supreme Court protection.

He has no idea about history. US started many wars with countries 20 times smaller and ran away with their tales between their legs. He is a serious problem for world. He will start war with Iran because of Israel and he will use nukes because its cheaper.

No. They have zero jurisdiction in El Salvador.

He really is a thick stupid arrogant nasty ****. He could have easily stopped this war in his first month back in office by using the full force of America against Russia but no he is too stupid to do that instead he continues to let Russia bomb and destroy poor Ukraine and kill many more innocent people who might have been alive had America a proper president. There blood is on his hands now too.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

But they do have considerable influence. They could, for example, make it clear to El Salvador that they will no longer pay El Salvador to warehouse large numbers of American deportees unless El Salvador can find a way to return any of them who turns out to have been deported mistakenly or illegally, and whose return is requested.

I feel confident that the El Salvadorean government would be receptive to this.

going about increasing the number of products the the EU will ban re importing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Administration could have him out and back tomorrow without even needing to resort to that.

But the courts and Marshalls can't do anything - and rightfully so. They also have no influence to exert, nor would it be proper for them to do so. But we're really reaching constitutional crisis point now.

That paying a foreign govt to indefinitely detain anyone isn't sufficiently illegal (and inherently vile) to stop the whole programme is beyond me. Though the precedent set during the GWOT basically seems to give the Executive carte blanche for such disgusting behaviour.

Good of you to accept the truth that he was illegally deported and not Trumps team line [that he was a person in the US illegally] on the basis that he had tattoos.

The speed with which so many institutions from extremely wealthy universities to extremely wealthy law firms - all of whom can afford not to betray everything they stand for for a few years - is deeply dispiriting. And should be an eternal mark of shame.

They have gotten away with it plenty times before... Only reason its different now is before it was somewhat hidden, now the president is openly advocating for it. Its not new news.

In Russia nobody thrusts anybody , workmates do not trust eachother, students can report what the teacher said, etc, etc, etc, etc. If you ‘step out of line’ in Russia - and especially in a public place- your chances of being reported on to the police is very high and away they go with you to !!!!!!!!!!?
is the same going to happen in America and one could end up in the ‘anti MEGA /Trump camp’ and be hassled / lose your job, be denied finance /end up in El Salvador.

So Americans need to be very careful that they do not walk ‘ on any toes’ and avoid. Being ‘DISLIKED’ by anyone - even for no reason

This is the only photo I can find of him where his tattoos are visible... How exactly are you identifying gang tattoos? Anyway, that's also his autistic son next to him who has had his father abducted, might shut you up.

Its already at the point of a police state.

Trump is goading his opposition in public, there will eventually be civil disobedience and that will be the pretext to call in the army. Its the standard playbook.

There is very little that can be done to stop this.

Rising against his regime will come at enormous personal consequences to anyone putting their head about the parapet and will only accelerate the totalitarian takeover.

The last protection of American democracy was the Courts, and Trump is just openly flouting them now.

DHS are his gestapo. A horribly cynical and authoritarian department set up in response to 9/11, from inception they were always a threat to democracy and now they're in the wrong hands

"Has there ever been an organisation in human history that is dedicated, with such commitment, to the destruction of organised human life on Earth?"

I've always said that the 9/11 reaction was too extreme. There was also the bill that allowed the NSA to spy on everyone which they said would be temporary..still there today.

Certain people in power used the reaction to get bills past that would never be allowed in any other circumstance. The DHS org was one of those things set up.

that seems to be the case ‘right across the board’. Have a look at the U tube , I think, of that cabinet meeting where Trump got all of his secetaries to report on the WONDERFUL progress they are all making in their departments. He was flanked by Rubio and Hegseath and they did a lot of nodding at the various Trump utterances eg “ you are doing a wonderful job Pam’ (Bondi)

"Power corrupts, Absolute power corrupts absolutely"

The more power Trump thinks he has, the more he will take.

Hes already a narcissist who thinks he deserves everything and hes already paranoid and thinks everyone is always trying to be unfair to him.

And he's allowed the very worst people into his inner circle. People who would not look any way out of place in the cabals of Hitler, Stalin or Mao..

And Trump is emboldening every authoritarian lickspittle to over reach in their own little regimes, hes authorizing police brutality, border and prison guards to be as depraved as they want to be. Creating a hostile environment where even the smallest act of defiance can destroy someone's life. And he's doing it in public so everyone knows that they need to keep their heads down and not push back
