Eddi issues

Should be no different than running an immersion normally, an immersion will pull less current when running not at full power

The eddi varys the voltage supplied to the immersion to vary the power. The immersion isn't seeing any more or less current.

*Current will vary due to V=IR as the resistance is fixed and the voltage is controlled by the eddi

Eg an immersion is roughly 20ohms and if it's run at 100v, the current being pulled is only about 5amps.

Another thing to be checked is for some sort of short in the wiring, some places experienced very high grid voltage after the storm and maybe that allowed something to arc and that carbon track still exists.

Thanks for the explanation Graememk, I can't pretend to understand most of it but appreciate the information.

I'll start with an electrician to check for shorts etc and if needed will get the plumber in to replace the immersion.

    Thanks.
