Digiweb or Pure?

Am changing my current provider at the moment and am wondering do people find much difference between Digiweb or Pure from a Customer Service point of view?

On a SIRO line so the connection should be fine.

Pure offering a Hauwei LG8245X6-10 modem and Digiweb a Fritz Modem which is also Wi-Fi 6 enabled. Pricing pretty similar for the 1GB line.

    Thanks

Can't beat Pure for customer service. You get through to someone with an Irish accent very quickly.

Have had both & would recommend Digiweb over Pure. Both are Ireland based customer care but I found Digiweb better to deal with including renewal offers at the end of the agreement whereas in the past Pures recontract offers were very poor- that may have changed. Fritzbox is a great piece of kit and if you're happy with Digiweb and either referred to them or refer family and friends, they give you a 30E credit against your bill. If you tend not to re-contract every year (although why not), Digiwebs SIRO 1GB is 49.95 per month, I'm pretty sure Pure is a chunk more expensive at about 70E per month thereafter

I have no experience of Pure but I have found the technical support from Digiweb to be excellent , there phone staff seem to be very knowledgeable.

Saying that I haven't had to call them in nearly 2 years.

Been with Pure and agree the customer support is handy.

Hijacking a small bit but does anyone know how I can login to my router or is that something I need to ring them about?

Digiweb are great, tech support is solid compared to any of the larger ISPs. I'm a network engineer and cannot stand the pain of the escalation chain you get with the likes of Virgin, Vodafone etc.

    no need to call them.

Support is similar on both. Service is the same. Price wise pure are cheapest so I would go with them.

Should be a sticker at the back of the router with login details. IP address that you type into the web browser to connect to it could be there too. If not, google what it is for your router brand. For example, for Fritzbox it’s http://192.168.178.1

Digiweb marginally cheaper for me so will go with them. Plus they'll give me an extra box for mesh for cheaper than Pure will.

Thanks you all for the help

Thanks guys, got to the login panel but seems the classic admin admin doesn't work and no sticker on the box!

Can't fault Digiweb in my experience.. each year they give me the "new user" discount of 37.95/month, PM me if you want the €30 referral credit off your first bill 😁

but that’s more expensive than sky and pure telecom

Is it? Must check ...always thought they were 50 odd or something

Actually i forgot i need a landline for my home alarm, so i think adding a landline number brings it up over 38/mth with other providers

Sky are 30E at the minute for 500Mb, Pure is 35E for 500Mb and Digiweb is 37.95 for 1Gbps SIRO

I signed my parent up recently on Sky but they couldn't use some local sites like google.ie or RTE Player, Virgin Media Player with Sky and their tech support was lets just say, not tech support. Three modems later from Sky and parents were removed from contract and moved to Digiweb. The router Digiweb sent was better than Skys and from past experience myself, Digiweb have more reliable customer care than Pure if you do need them.

Do you get a landline number with Sky and Pure at those prices? Any free calls included?

Was with digiweb last year and switched to Pure this year. Plan on alternating each year. Can't fault tech support in either companies, they've both been fantastic. Digiweb did offer a deal of 45€ to stay with them for the 1GB BB which was still a good deal and was tempting to avoid the hassle of switching. Not sure if Pure will offer anything similar next year. But I'm mean so I'll keep switching 😁.

We had minor issue with pure router and they had no problems.im sending on fritzbox router so don't let the router choice put you off

Better customer retention offers needed. So we don’t need to do a merry dance every 12 months.

3 years with Pure, ive got the fastest broadband I've ever had an they give me a great deal every year. Also its great that their customer care is based in Ireland.

Not the cheapest though. And nothing particularly wrong with the cheaper options

Pure have excellent customer service and I never had trouble with them. No experience with Digiweb.

I'm on 37.95 per month with landline phone with free calls, what deal is cheaper? Cheers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,073 ✭✭✭DopeTech

is that price for the full duration of the contract or only the first 6 months? I’d ask pure telecom what their best offer for same is. When I mentioned cheaper options I was thinking of broadband only but Pure may be cheaper including phone too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,267 ✭✭✭✭mrcheez

12 mth price, then I ask for another 12 months at that price when renewing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,398 ✭✭✭mossie

Is that on Siro? NBI price is far more expensive for some reason €64.95 after 3 months and €69.95 after 12 months.

Signed up with Pure some days ago, changing over from Vodafone. Very easy to deal with, and change over to happen this Sunday.

Given D***web's performance on Boards over the last few days, I wouldn't deal with them now as a matter of principle..

It's called "Superfast Value Broadband" with Digiweb. It's ADSL AFAIK as its over the phone line, but I've never had slow down while streaming.
