trying to get to the RDS tomorrow… via public transport.

You’d think if they want us out of cars they’d make alternative methods of transport easier. But instead they have royally messed up.

What should be a pleasant and fun day, and I’m sure it will be once there…is going to be tempered by orbital bus routes and multiple changes, I’d be quicker, looking at the timetables, if I went up into actual orbit. Might meet a few of the lunatic space cadets who devised and approved this while I’m up there.

The 'child running the house' phenomenon that is getting more and more common.

Anybody who dumps illegally should be fed to rabid hippos, but there are some real scumbags out there that really go the extra mile.

Went for a walk this morning in a bog, lovely peaceful natural spot. About five km in, (no road access, just muddy trail) lo and behold, a really big fridge freezer dumped in the bushes!

Who the hell looks at an appliance like that and thinks, no lets not bring it to the local recycling centre, instead let's drive to the middle of nowhere, strap it to our backs, walk five km on slippy paths and leave it in the bushes.

I especially don’t understand it for electrical appliances as it’s free to drop those off at recycling centres. The remote places you see them dumped sometimes, it really can’t have been easier than taking it to the local collection point.

I've seen that a good bit. Things dumped out in quite remote beauty spots and forests. Old kitchen units, matresses, microwaves among others. I bet the cretins left the lid on the freezer so a child can get trapped inside too.

House is freezing, no power, no water, phone data has just started working at a snails pace and I get a message from Vodafone to say I've exceeded my 2gb limit . . Bastaðs!

Couples who argue in front of you. When it happens I just want the ground to swallow me up. Take it outside.

I live near a "traditional" dumping spot - car parking spot at top of cliff.

People still dump stuff that is free to get rid of but unfortunately there is a €20 charge for getting rid of mattresses at the local tip.

TA is the people still dump mattresses over the cliff and second TA is that even when someone bothers to report it to the council and pull it 300 meters around the beach to where it can be reached by the road the council won't come and pick it up.

Wake me up when it's all over.

people who have no get up and go, who have no concept or value of time & allow themselves to get easily distracted by anything & everything & have no sense of urgency or the sense to be able to put the skids under themselves when they are behind schedule potentially messing up someone else’s day.

Anywhere I’m going, I aim to be arriving early. That way if something happens.. traffic etc.. I’ll be still ballpark on time or just a small bit late that won’t totally inconvenience anybody.

People without get up and go / initiative I can’t deal with…Well I could but it would be with a cattle prod.

Reels on Facebook . Actually anything Facebook. Only I'm in a MS group which is good I'd delete the whole thing . And don't get me started on Instagram !

Reels is to satisfy the millennials and that tech obsessed mindset, something different, something new, always sharing, always interacting, ‘quick, look at this’, ‘quick, look at me’ type mindset… absolutely no need for it… detracted from the social media experience for most people I know.

When some people have 6 months paid sick leave and you have 10 days.

When some people get paid paternal leave, months even, and you got none.

When people have defined benefit pension and your one is dependent on Donald Trump's next move.

Reels is a copy of TikTok shorts etc you do not get sick leave unless you are sick parental leave is designed to help people who have young children. We need children to keep the economy going they grow up to be workers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,533 ✭✭✭SuperBowserWorld

Yes, but some people get more (a lot more) than others. One person with the same affliction is going back to work after 10 days, another after 6 months. Ditto for paid parental leave for kids. The latter is probably having more kids. Anyway, that's life, trivial things thread.

water outage here since somewhere between 8.30-9.00pm. 10.20pm now and…still nothing on the Uisce Eireann site about it. Be nice if you could see the outage acknowledged & at least be availed of information like if a crew is on the way or already working on it, with an estimated fix time. But not even acknowledgment of the issue. Loads of bottled water here, about 50-60 bottles so not concerned but we pay water charges, given that, when things go tits up I think a quick website update might be not too much to expect… but it’s Ireland, 2025. 🙄

TAed that I keep having TA's and that thinking that I should post them here. Then when sat in front of the computer I can't remember them. At least that most prove they are trivial?
