I think learning in Ireland is designed to stop people from thinking for themselves, and this seems to be reinforced in 3rd level, etc. I have met some really, really academically smart people who I wouldn't let cross the road on their own.

Ta spent most of the night moving around as the banging on the roof was jerking me awake every half hour or so, house reeks of pot(they must have been smoking it all night) so now Im tired, annoyed and headed for a pot hangover. 🔪

As my memory is even more unreliable than ever a few weeks ago I emailed the clinic looking for an appointment with a specific doctor, a bit of too and fro and no more.

Got a snotty txt from the clinic telling me I didn't turn up for my appointment, this isn't the first time this has happened so I called them to see if there was an issue with emails from my side(as I keep hearing ppl didn't get mine) kept me 15 mins on the phone while they checked to see what had gone wrong and a half-hearted apology and the push for another appointment!

MMM when did it become the patience cost when their system/staff messed up?

in addition they left their cat out in the storm. it was screeching non stop like a possessed lunatic around 5.30 AM… that weather here destroyed a garden fence, so it won’t have been any fun for a cat that weighs a fraction of that, max 6 kilograms I’d imagine. Nothing in the way of cop on, they must be as gormless as each other, well matched.

I'm so sorry we cannot generate a script for this video. However, if you go to the bottom of the screen and turn on the CC button, you can follow or generate a script from here, BB.

Yet another publicly funder organisation refusing to facilitate a different learner(and maybe refusing to do some additional work bc if it's written down it can be used against them)

The most ta about this is that the closed captions are computer-generated and say things that aren't said by the instructor, also a ta in this case the time wipe app generates the script in short sentences so it just causes additional work for a task with is supposed to be enjoyable.

Trying to get a bus ticket on The Expressway (Bus Eireann) website

Sometimes you get it for '€9.95' but others it's back to full price

People typing "Jaysus" before commenting or posting online.

Crude effort at trying to make their post somehow more emphatic or impressive or funny and actually having the very opposite effect.

The recycling bin was emptied this morning and now I could do with a piece of cardboard of which there were many in the bin. 😁

Oh I've a pile of cardboard in the shed. Some of it very thick and strong. Couldn't bear to put it in the recycling bin cause I know it'll come in handy sometime, but it's a tough call.

this bôllocks of businesses wanting you to do everything online, only leading to a situation like now where due to an issue I’ve no choice but to make a phone call, I’m 33 minutes on hold so far and still waiting because they use it as an excuse to have no staff, so when you 100% need to speak with a human, there just are none.….⛔️

Ordered sweet snack in a McDonald's r on the machine and paid by debit card. My order included a Terry's chocolate orange pie, as well as a basic macdonlds apple pie. The Terry's chocolate orange pie costs 40 cents more

My order is called out at the counter.

Tout of Terry's chocolate orange pie.

Can I accept apple pie instead??

I say sure why not 😁

Adults (who do not have any special dietary requirements) but are picky eaters especially when out and about. Yet claim to be “starving” basically it is because of being picky eaters in the first place! No thought of making own sandwiches, bringing them with them.
Then having to watch this “starving” person leave food behind on their plate. Really winds me up.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

I caught the recycling bin lorry just in the nick of time this morning. As soon as I heard the lorry outside i flew out of bed, stormed down the stairs and grabbed the bin. I was standing at the door in my underwear flagging him down but luckily they stopped and collected my bin.

Today’s TA is that I had 4 cans of Hop House beer last night that went to my head like a bullet. I had the strangest dreams afterwards, one dream was that I was facing 5 years in a Brazilian jail for beating up a gang member. This morning my head was pounding and my stomach was really nauseous.

Oh, that's because they've all been hollowed out, and only market and sell "dreams". Profits go up, service goes down. They are now hoping to fix this problem with AI.

Eugh bathroom sink just started to stop draining.

Asked himself did he do anything that might cause an issue..no.

Grand so, water in sink hadn't drained so added Mr muscle......waited 5 minutes.... nothing happening......

Said it to him.....he's going mental that I didn't drain the sink (by scooping the water out first) before adding the drain unblocker.....my argument is the drain unblocker has a different viscosity than water and will drop under the water into the drain......thought that was part of the design.

He's having none of it.....like a feckin demon now......oh the drama!

Send a hanger down and give it a wiggle. Or try a plunger. Don't think I’d have bothered bailing out the water either.

He got a container to empty it out....full scale row over how it's "my" soap that clogged it....give me f*ckin strength.

My dad's a plumber I don't think he ever emptied the sink before removing the U-bend, nevermind before putting down drain unblocker....his attitude was it's potentially a messy job don't give yourself more work, throw a towel and basin down. ....he also would have left the drain unblocker work longer than 5 minutes before giving himself work.

However Mr Calla knows better than anyone 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄

I, d like to here how ordinary working gen z irish people feel, are they fed up , paying high rents or living at home, Do they have opinions on immigration , the housing crisis Have they money to go out to night clubs ,go to pubs in the present cost of living crisis. All i hear on rte radio or newstalk is the same middle class politicans presenters commentators mostly from south dublin .How do young working class gen z teens feel about living in ireland

I don,t have any gen z friends ,i,m over the age of 45. i don, t think theres any podcast that has ordinary irish people on it eg i,m on an average wage ,im paying 800 euro for a house share / flat

The media is dominated by middle class smug liberal elite commentators journalists who probably bought a house 20 years and have paid off their mortgage

i,m not talking about Maga type people . i just read about gen z emigrating or living at home trying to save for a deposit .

i read pubs cafes are closing because gen z don,t go out as much as older people

i, presume that gen z are fed up paying rent etc maybe they are full of energy and optimism I ,m just curious

Well start a thread....after hours is as good a place as any.

However I think the majority of posters are over 40 so you may not get what you're looking for.

I'm same as you, the unblocker stuff finds it's way through the water and down the plug hole!

    TA it's cold .

All i need when i go out is my coat and my phone .No matter how cold it is theres always a few lads wearing shorts and no sometimes no coat. Is it some type of macho thing, or they think dublin is los angeles or boston.most people don,t bother going into privacy settings on their phone , the default setting is when you use apps or a browser chrome about 20 companys can get data on where you are your ip adress setting tracking to off in various privacy security settings eg switch location sharing off

you only need to do this once

if your phone gets stolen its better more secure to use protonmail free than use gmail for email

    https://www.apple.com/privacy/control/

Most apps browsers the default is trackers on data sharing on unless you opt to switch tracking off

bikes locked in the street with wheels stolen,

if you have a steel u lock lock the frame thru the back wheel .if they cant rob the bike they,ll just take off the wheels .
