Yeah George is a legend, pity RTE didn't let him go on till 2026, and finish after the World Cup final.

Waddell is the literal embodiment of a genuine passion for a sport not being enough to make you good at the job of being a commentator. Had more set plays than an NFL team.

Arsenal fans are an awful dose

Speaking as an Arsenal fan I think it's fair that we're characterised as the most neurotic and blinkered out there. I did cringe at the emails they read out.

Whether you like it or not the likes of AFTV and people losing the rag on twitter have become synomous with the club in a way that hasn't happened with other clubs. If Arsenal lose - or even don't win - two matches in a row there's usually a meltdown online about it. Sometimes all it takes is a draw.

Now, some of that has to do with timing: AFTV, in particular, came of age at exactly the right time for that kind of content to take off, at exactly the moment - late era Wenger - where the fans were at their most fed up and emotional.

Unless Ken makes a terrible cup. Although i do generally still take terrible cups.

City have been roundly shat on by the SC team for years, now Arsenal fans are unhappy with their treatment. It's almost like Liverpool's main challengers are always treated with disdain. Wonder why...

Oh shut up with the conspiracy theory sh1te. Go watch some Matt Le Tissier videos

    Doesn't Ken support Arsenal?

I vaguely remember him appearing on one of the big Arsenal podcasts a couple of years ago.

I think that has more to do with him being friends with Declan Mangan.

Just in case the first Monday in January wasn't depressing enough, it’s a Dion Fanning day!

No, this has been covered endless times....ken supports Liverpool, Eoin and Murph support united. Branno supports his own (Bohs)😀. Simon is a Leinster fan.

geriatricos is a nice phrase for eriksen and casemiro against newcastle

Actually in fairness to Dion he’s been pretty chipper today. Maybe he was told to stop being so hangdog.

Ken’s take on TAA was nonsense. However his stream of consciousness about Rupert Lowe and Grok was an all-timer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,145 ✭✭✭cunnifferous

Haha the Lowe and Grok stuff was bloody brilliant.

I must be far from being the only SC listener who'd never heard of that Timmy guy before.

    I'm partial to your abracadabra,

I'm raptured by the joy of it all.

Ha, i was getting so sick of the introduction he keeps getting in the media this year. He's been doing this for 20 years, he's an olympics fixture and i thought everyone got at least 20 seconds of him every Olympics on some round up etc.

I thought at this stage he should be described as a regular rather than a rare find. Guess I'm wrong.

i find it infuriating that Ken consistently misrepresents officials decisions in the PL.

At it again yesterday with a completely false narrative about the Newcastle goal that was allowed. Ken said this goal was ruled out because the time between the handball and the goal. The actual reason is in the snip below. It simply wasn’t a handball according to the current rules of the game.

Ken seems to occasionally embrace the post truth world that I’d expect him to be rallying against.

Dion wafting up from the depths the one week in about ten where Liverpool have shown any weakness so he can not admit how insanely wrong his original Slot opinion was is clockwork

Also listening to Ken vacillate from Rubes being god-king to a bearded fraud on a bi-weekly basis sure is something at this stage. No matter his talent the system at United will swallow him up, too.

Ken should be smart enough to wonder whether he is actually on the wrong side of the David Silva debate when he looks around and sees Murph backing him up.

I like Murph mostly, but he knows little to nothing about soccer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,803 ✭✭✭✭siblers

I'd say Murph is only spurring Ken on/winding Eoin up. Half the time they're just trying to get reactions out of each other

Big Ange did tell the boys he always wins a trophy in his second season but they scoffed at him
