Anyone other than the SC lads and it would have been a disaster.

Off The Ball's crappy quiz back in the day was quite similar and I always enjoyed it despite having Ger Gilroy doing it

Only halfway through and I am enjoying it. I dont need a straight laced quiz. A messy farce much more entertaining

How is it a rip off of the off the ball quiz? Is any sports show that does a quiz now a rip off of OTB?

It’s mad that Stephen Kenny was unable to identify anything he would have done differently as Ireland manager. He’s obviously a good manager but his inability to reflect on his weaknesses may have been why he failed.

Less painful than watching his Ireland team, you mean? 😯

    I'm partial to your abracadabra,

I'm raptured by the joy of it all.

Did Branno genuflect when King Steo entered the studio?

The high priest and Kenny in one week, Second Captains are really giving us gifts this year.

I find him painful to listen to. Skipped most of his interviews when he was manager.

I thought the first half, when he was talking generally and about Pat’s, was fine.

Listening to him trying to justify his performance as Ireland manager was like a bad flash back to 2022.

The comparison to the quiz episode yesterday was like chalk and cheese to this one. The quiz was full of the lads pulling the p!ss and mocking each other. Not sure I can stick todays one out. About 15 into it.

Got into the nuts and bolts of the interview after a gentle transition into what we were all here for. McDevitt starts with a broad question on any reflections on the Ireland gig. Kenny retorts that's a big questions or something along those lines like he thought they wanted to interview him on his previous job in refrigeration? He must be one hell of a tactical coach because communication skills from my viewing over multiple years is not there. What I saw in the Ireland job on the tactical side was at times puzzling at best.

My God that second half was a painful listen, Kenny seems unable to comprehend even a single mistake or lesson he learned as Ireland manager. He is one of the worst communicators I've ever heard so it's crazy he's gotten as far as he has in terms of managing. Amazingly thin skinned.

sounds like the boring part was the “good” part

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 236 ✭✭joinme

He goes into crazy waffle detail on formations and players without ever really giving any insight into his decisions, or any self reflection. It's like he trying to bore Ken and Eoin into submission and not ask him anymore questions on his time as boss man.

He's definitely in denial about his time as the Irish manager, he's still acting like bringing in the likes of Idah and Parott (who have done both very little for the seniors) was a masterstroke

I was expecting that Magic Number music to start playing about half way through when he was talking about formations.

Painful listen. He brought nothing to the interview.

Although the bit at the end when he was saying Ronnie Whelan thought he did a good job made me laugh.

He certainly wasn’t the easiest to get any kind of detailed answer out of.

sure when Dan McDonnell interviewed him for the indo he tried to claim the goal we conceded in Dublin to the French didn’t come from playing out from the back

Kenny is a great listen because of how profoundly weird his worldview is. It’s like a Ken book review interview but the subject is the person being interviewed.

Disappointed to hear more than one Killian referred to as Killians during the quiz, since we know from the Isolating podcast the plural of Killian is Killia.

Started re-listening to the Isolating podcast recently. Jesus you'd forget how bleak things were at the start of that period.

Speaking of which, David O'Doherty has a new podcast out called 'What did you do yesterday' which is excellent

With Max Rushden! First episode is Ellis James? Great!

Wonder will Eoin have to finally concede that City are unlikely to win the title. Think he was still tipping them up to a week or two ago.

D'oh! There will be no new Stakeknife episode on the BBC Sounds app on Friday December 27th. The next one released will be Friday January 3rd.

Another terrible result for Man Utd. Amorim has made little or no difference since he’s come in - will Ken continue with his man crush or face reality?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 550 ✭✭✭Tucker.Tim

Ruben Intermin crouching and staring pensively at the ground is almost as iconic as Pep kicking hoardings now

Hopefully Dion is in tomorrow to explain how Liverpool still blowing away everything in their path means Slot is too cautious and will be found out

I’m always surprised that Ken isn’t part of their BOTY pod.

He'd be great..my guess it's just division of responsibilities.
