One day without a pub at its finest like the 'Thursday before Good Friday'

Done well for myself in terms of customers giving me presents this year. Enough bottles of wine to last me till next year, various boxes of chocolates, even a bespoke painting from an artist worth a few bob, and a good bit of cash in hand.

But I can't shake the feeling that there were a few that wouldn't even acknowledge me with even a token Christmas card. Brand new audis, living on beautiful houses in awkwardly to access spots but getting parcels every day of the week (never from Shein or Temu). They'd be the first to give out if one didn't arrive of course.

Even so, the S should go before (followed by a t) , not after. 🙂

Pretty daft this and it shouldn’t annoy me but it winds me up when the fat asses in RTE with their fat ass salaries never do the news reports on holidays like Christmas and it is left to someone you never usually hear of to present while the usual suspects are fattening up their asses at home. Bah humbug

My wife has just burnt chocolate trying to melt it in a Microwave and the house stinks of it - stinks is the wrong word as I like the smell.

Am I Trivially Annoyed - no not in the least.

What TA's me is that if I had done that I should have know better and I'd be the biggest fool on the planet :-(

Wake me up when it's all over.

Christmas themed AI generated vomit people are sharing.

No one gives me anything for just doing my job. Not expecting anything either

Could be worse, they could be spelling it "Boxing Day".

I can't sleep in my bed because of somebody using it for Christmas and now I'm in the living with a snoring relative.

The same dumb stupid articles about alcohol every year which are just free advertising for the alcohol industry.

"Tanya Sweeney: The dreaded Stephen’s Day hangover always seems to find me – is it time to be more sensible?"

"Why alcohol ruins your sleep and things you can do to combat its effects"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,631 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

Hardly good advertising for them though. Both negative, both would encourage the reader to drink less.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,534 ✭✭✭SuperBowserWorld

Nah, they are view to pay, beating around the bush, kid glove articles that are regurgitated every year.

I saw a really bad attempt at this the other morning on that RTE news channel, its always cringy but the guy was so laid back and uninterested in it is was very hard to watch, I had to turn the tv off. he was supposedly talking to Santa on the phone.

On the Christmas theme: if you aren't cooking, stay out of the kitchen!

Those re enactment photos that crop up everywhere . A photo of mam and dad and three kids in 1992 might seem cute but the adults sprawled like eejits on the couch in 2024 is just so gross . Stop it already please

This thing on Facebook: "People you may know".

I'm after scrolling through about twenty such people, some with names I can't even pronounce, from foreign places never mind actually know.

I wish Facebook would allow me to turn off this nonsense permanently but that would probably curtail it's insidious algorithm helping it to propagate it's awful drivel. More fool me for wasting my time looking at it anyway.

If I posted the following statement on a british site, I would be jailed under the new hate speech laws: Morecambe and Wise are overrated. Tommy Cooper too.

Was having a nice walk with the dog earlier in local park on a lovely mild December day. These youngfellas who were only about 5 or 6 on these minature scramblers kept flying past again and again on the path. They were far too young. So annoying when you want some peace and quiet.

Some Christmas present with parents watching on. These things looked expensive. Little fuckers, I was hoping they'd break their necks.......

A first world problem but it annoys me regardless, very year someone always gets me a 50 euro voucher for boots chemist and usually I put it towards a really nice perfume, the one I got lat year was 80 euro for 100ml bottle and I got loads of compliments on it, I really liked it myself so thought id buy it again this year with voucher towards it. I looked in boots and the same perfume is gone up to 150 euro. I looked at a few others I like, one I bought last year for 60 is now 120! What in the f***!! Out of principle, I won't spend that amount on a bottle of smelly water.

same, I don’t know what is going on with it. I’m from and in Dublin so how I’d know all these people in Islamabad, Agadir, Kinshasa, Lagos… 😅. Places are 6,000→8,000 kilometres away approximately. Kindly just 🪦
