Another vote for this. Just finised this over the weekend and it was brilliant. Short episodes that move at fast pace. Some quite sad and disturbing but overall brilliant drama, best show i've seen in a long time.

The Aaron Hernandez American Sports Story is very good. They said at the end his brain was so damaged physically that had he lived another 10 years he wuda been incapacitated.

If they dont broadcast a tv show after it,s made they get tax credits on the cost of production, plus save money on paying royaltys to actors , writers .

I got a message last to that affect. I’ve emailed the family owner but does it mean we are all goosed?

You can get them to pressthe button saying I'm travelling (or something like that). They then email you a code, which you can give to the person using it. Not sure how long it lasts for yet

It doesn’t look like they have a family plan anymore, just the option to add a friend for €5.99 a month. Maybe that’s for new subscribers. Hopefully it will be ok

Renewal next year is 139Euro!!! (Up from 109 and new limitations!!)

Is this right, it says I'm on the 109 PA with 16% discount, but the next payment is already set to 139Euro next April

Also, extra member, for 5.99 PM is limited to 1 device at a time.

I just bought the year pass last week for €99 I think it was.

I'm still having the same issue where it doesn't work great on my LG smart tv. It is constantly lagging and sometime logs off completely.

Works fine on iPad and on the phones.

Very frustrating, I had this issue last year when I had my mates sign in, I assumed it was one of his kids being online at the same time.

Mine was also 109 last month. Haven't checked about next year's renewal. For now it still is good value at 9 euro per month. Lots of things that I watch/rewatch, and quite a bit of a back log.

There is an update on my earlier post.

The episodes from season 36 of The Simpsons will be streamed exclusively on Disney+ in the UK & Ireland in Spring 2025.

Their linear airings of these newer episodes will also be swapped over from Sky Showcase to E4 later in the year.

E4 will show the episodes from season 32 from January.

Channel 4 will also offer a selection of episodes to stream from their own website & app.

Sky Showcase will still show the episodes from seasons 33, 34 & 35 in the UK & Ireland.

Just got a mail about renewing next month. €139.99. Increase of €30. Nearly 30%. Which means if paying monthly, it went up by €3.

Was looking at the pricing plans and I didn't realise there were 2 tiers. Cheaper tier is 1080p and 2 screens.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,350 ✭✭✭ForestFire

Yes I think the 2 tier is now available in ireland….But

I am now getting emails to setup passwords, One time verification codes and email authorisations to confirm I'm watching in the main household by confirming codes etc!!

2 Brothers also on the account not complaining yet, but come renewal in April, not sure if I will continue

it was €69.99 a year when it launched (59.99 if you signed up pre-launch)

    So that’s a 100% increase in 5 years.

I unsubscribed a few years ago. Dipped back in with some special offers (€2 a month last year for 3 months etc). Everyone has their own value on things (my brother in law is happy to pay (and share) for example), but a 100% increase in 5 years is crazy

not sure if this was available previously in Turkey but it is now. I went using a vpn and set up an account and paid via Revolut, about €4pm or €40 for the year, it got passed the card verification stage but I balked, I was on a family plan but tbh I still don’t think it’s worth €4. Might be of some use to someone

so I went to go ahead with this but I keep getting an error when trying to pay, have tried 4 cards. Did it work for anyone?

I signed up a couple of years ago and had the same issue at the time. Card (Revolut) kept being rejected, then a few days later the same card just worked. I think I blamed the VPN for the problem.

Do you need to have seen the Netflix Daredevil series before watching the new series on D+ or can you just get stuck in to the new stuff?

Would definitely help as it continues on from the previous season

Time is contagious, everybody's getting old.

A new animated Predator series is on the way to Hulu, so I assume Disney+ will be getting it here.

That though doesn’t really affect us outside the US, where the Hulu-by-another-name service, Star, was always part of Disney+, and never existed separately. That doesn’t mean there won’t be a price rise mind!

There are two developments which will effect us.

Firstly, Disney has gained 100% control of the Hulu brand recently, while it no longer has 100% control of Star India, where the Star brand originated. So Star on Disney+ is going to become Hulu internationally.

The other is that ESPN is coming, with two sports rights packages bought - LaLiga (where they’ll have rights to one Saturday night game each week) and the UEFA Women’s Champions League (where they will have the rights to all matches from the group stage onwards - RTE will have a small number of games non exclusive). ESPN should appear sooner rather than later as the first La Liga game is only eight days away.

Hoping no price rise due to sports which I don’t watch and don’t want. It’s be great if that was another price tier.

They won’t be able to sell what little they’ve picked up as an additional tier. Maybe if they pick up enough additional rights to make it worthwhile. For now they’re just threading the waters. ESPN were here previously and hastily exited the market when BT won the Premier League rights package they had and sold the rest of the operation lock stock and barrel to BT where it formed the nucleus of what is today TNT Sports. So they are going to be very slow about going back in.
