I was an emotional mess tonight watching Chris and Dianne in the Clauditorium. 😭

It's really between him, Sarah and JB now.

Tasha sadly hasn't a hope really after being in 2 consecutive dance offs. She seems like a lovely person, with her own struggles, but I can't move beyond the fact that she studied dance in college. I just assume she's going to be amazing every week, so there's never really been a wow factor for me. Aljaz, however, annoyed me the week they dedicated a dance to his daughter- you're meant to focus on your celebrity partner, not make it all about yourself!

I was glad to see Pete go out tonight on a high, after doing an emotive routine. A great end to his journey.

I don't see the need for Aljaz being back at all. Especially when Kai didn't get a partner.

    I want Chris to win

Same. I'm guessing they brought him back to ensure there were enough male pros to go around, ended up with surplus, and then felt they couldn't bench him.

Me three, although JB would be very acceptable as well.

I like Aljaz, and prefer him, or Carlos, to Kai, if I'm honest.

I think Kai dirtied his bib with Strictly somehow…?

Me four, although I do like all the finalists this year.

I think Chris will win. He's not the best dancer but considering his disability he is astonishing. Dianne should get a special prize.

Tasha won't win - after being in a couple of dance-offs, and the major dance experience contestants never win. The public likes a journey.

Sarah and JB are both great too though. I actually would be happy with anyone who is left.

No, I don't see Tasha winning. I personally just can't look past the fact that she studied dance in college. Like, how would Chris/Pete/Montell/Wynne etc. ever be able to fairly compete against someone with an actual dance qualification?!

There was a night where one of the judges was saying 'it's like watching a professional' and I was thinking, that's because she is! 🙈

A quote from a Hello article…. Sarah has as much training and experience as Tasha! (albeit a lot longer ago, so she'd be a bit out of practice, dontchaknow)

What has Sarah Hadland said about her dance background?

Sarah has spoken openly about the early days of her career, which included stints in the West End musicals, Cats and Grease. "I trained in dance from the age of three and then I left home at the age of 16 to go to a musical theatre college," she explained to the Daily Mirror.

By the time Sarah turned 19, she'd graduated from Laine Theatre Arts College in Epsom and was performing on London's West End.

Aljaz is back because he's one of if not the most popular male pros. There is just no comparison with Kai in terms of personality. Vito is the only male pro who has filled the personality gap left bypros like Giovanni and Aljaz.

I'm probably leaning towards wanting JB to win, but I'd be delighted to see Chris lift the trophy either.

Really? I don't dislike Aljaz, but he left. And they have their pro dancers. So don't know why they brought Aljaz back. I don't dislike Carlos or Kai either. But just don't see why when they have their pick of pros.

Interesting , maybe that's why. A strange decision though.

I would love Chris to win. Its unbelievable what himself and Dianne have achieved. Even his attitude from day 1, never mind his dancing, has improved.

I'm just guessing but read elsewhere that they lost some potential participants to other programmes like I'm a Celebrity. So ended up with an imbalance.

I have really missed Kai from the line up this year. Hopefully he will be off the bench next year. He is in the Christmas special so I can get my fix then. 😉

Yeah Chris's attitude is going to make a big difference. Like to see JB win tbh

Strictly seemed pleased to have him back :) - I wish Janette, Oti and Pasha would come back too, but I think those ships have sailed.

I really like Carlos, he is fun to watch (imo).

The thing about Kai though, even though he is a latin champion, (which I was surprised to find out,he feels more ballroom to me) to me he just never felt like an exciting dancer to watch. More like a younger Anton.

But there is room for all types.

I don't know how his comeback came about, ie whether it was by invitation or at his request. If it was invitation, strictly are likely to be pleased to have him back.

I don't have a particular allegiance to Kai, I'm just curious as to why there was a need for anyone to be brought back, when they had pros available.

Ah Gotcha. I didn't think he did too badly in previous years to warrant him being benched this year. It's a strange auld show sometimes.

Id love to see JB win. Lauren is such an amazing dancer, she's got the best out of him. It's tough on Amy. Imagine if JB wins and Amy is sitting there thinking "grrr that should have been me, Lauren" 🥹

I don't mind Aljaz, but it did seem strange timing him coming back this year and pros like Kai and Carlos being benched.

Probably not ideal pairing him with Tasha, who seems a lot fitter than her professional partner this series. 😂

Watched Chris on It Takes Two tonight where he talked about the charleston, saying that he obviously can't go back and watch it, but it felt great in the moment. It makes me sad that he can never go back and watch some of their lovely dances.

Oh goodness yes! Imagine JB won and Amy is there looking on!

Thats exactly it with Chris and Im so glad Dianne hammered it home on Sat. He can never know what a dance is supposed to look like, he can never see himself, going into the final he can never look back and assess what needs improving.

When he was announced as a contestant, i never expected he would be as good as he is. Ita remarkable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,694 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Dianne really has done an amazing job, not only of teaching Chris, but also of communicating the challenges facing him/them.

I hope they formally acknowledge her in the final somehow.

Aljaz is back because he was always very popular and they were trying to mitigate the disaster PR from Giovanni and Amanda. I'd say they offered him whatever money he wanted.

I used to love watching Matthew Cutler doing ballroom

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,344 ✭✭✭lmahoney79

They need to feature Neil Jones more....he's a great personality. He's really funny but they just make him look like the dopey one.

I don’t know what it is about Neil (dancing and personality) but I can’t warm to him

You might have hit the nail on the head here. Losing both Giovanni and Graziano was a big blow.
