It must be very demoralising, that's for sure.

Just watched the elimination show, having somehow managed to avoid spoilers beforehand.

Such a shame to see Jamie go, I can't remember the last time I saw someone as genuinely in love with the whole thing as he clearly is (and good with it!). Pete absolutely should have been in the dance off and gone, I'd say the pair of them are mortified at this stage. Well, I hope they are.

Butgiven who was in the dance off, I agree with the result - I thought Montell was much better in her dance.

Bloodyhell, though, the Sugababes were a bit awful! I suppose at least nobody can accuse them of using autotune, or lipsynching, I suppose!

In fairness to Pete, he was mortified, and has posted about it on his Instagram stories.

The look of shock (and I'd go as far as say upset), on both his and Jowita's face when Jamie was named in the dance off, looked very genuine.

He was definitely shocked. He said on It Takes Two that he thought they must have said Montell was safe. I don't think anyone should be mortified though. There have been comments on social media saying that Pete should leave. Like he should have marched off the stage when he was called safe?! 🙄

He's loving the experience too, and working hard each week and has a great relationship with his pro. He's just getting the votes fair and square.

Tasha seems like a lovely young woman, but she's been at the same high quality producing flawless dances from episode 1 and I just find that boring. 🥱

Wouldn't it be great if Chris & Diane just beat them all!

No disrespect to Rose at all but must be more challenging learning dance steps and doing lifts etc when you can't see anything.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,693 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Oh I completely agree! But just that someone in the face of such a challenge to beat all the able-bodied contestants, who were no slouches themselves (although hers was a two-horse final as AJ Odudu had to pull out due to injury and she was definitely a contender)

If Chris gets to the final I can absolutely see him hoovering up the public vote (and I really, REALLY hope he does!)

Lol...I didn't recognise Shirley at all. I thought who's yer one walking out with Anton, did she win a competition to come out with him or something 🤣

OK as much as I can't stand Sarah, I have to take my hat off to that charleston - that was great!

    Samehere!!

Gosh, very unusual to see a rumba being danced with a great big smile - they're usually so.... angsty!

    Loved Montell's dance.

Tasha has the most incredible legs! If I wasn't so pissed off with her being in this in the first place, I'd watch her forever.

O/T, I'm assuming LM Miranda wrote that? It sounded exactly like half the songs from Hamilton (with which I'm currently mildly obsessed, having seen it recently for the first time) - it's been struck off my to-see list on that basis.

Ok Pete really needs to go now please!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,693 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

That was a shambles! Even i saw multiple mistakes, and I'm usually just glassily, lazily watching, enjoying the show.

PPlus, 26 is a score you'd expect in week 1 or 2, not the quarter finals.

Loved JB, I think he has to be in with a shout, he's soooo good at ballroom. That VW was just gorgeous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,344 ✭✭✭lmahoney79

JB has definitely gotten much better and in with a shot I think.

I think it'll be Montell and Pete in dance off this week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,693 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

I hope it is, but I dunno - Pete seems to have unmerciful voting support, and that 26, was a bit of a shocker, it might just galvanise them even more than usual - i wouldn't be at all surprised if he wasn't in the dance off again.....

I lived JBs routine...it was absolutely perfect.

Diane's explanation for Chris's posture was so important, I never thought of that. I never expected him to soar like he has, because (admittedly very ignorantly on my part) I couldn't imagine how it could be possible. They've never taken the easy way out. Every week they produce a top routine and given the majority of the first part of the week is dedicated to explaining the dance and feeling what it should look like, it's just awesome.

Unfortunately, i think you might be right but can't imagine who else would be in the dance off as the others were so good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,344 ✭✭✭lmahoney79

Exactly.....I thought the explanation about his posture was very poignant to understanding him more. They are both just amazing.

I didn't really like Diane last year when she was partnered with that young lad from Eastenders but this year she's shown how talented she actually is. As for Chris....just wow!

    The results are in…

Do NOT click the link if you do not want to be spoiled.

Tasha and Montell had to dance off. The judges saved Tasha. Montell was eliminated.

    Pity about that!

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 27,915 Mod ✭✭✭✭Posy

What did Dianne say about Chris' posture? I didn't see all the judges bits tonight.

When Chris started he was bent over like a question mark, he's improved so so much.

I thought the leaderboard was quite telling tonight- the 3 non dancers at the end and the 3 with professional training/experience at the top. Tasha is brilliant but should not be in the show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,693 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

She hunched forward and said "his safe space is here" pointing to below/in front, and said how brave he'd been in straightening up and basically striding out while dancing.

I just thought it was a shame that her parents weren't in the audience to see that - it was 10 times more impressive than last week IMO (maybe they were, but I'm guessing it would have been mentioned if so).

I'm hoping that one of the non-trained contestants (Chris) gets through and I'd hope that the public vote might do for the semi-pros. JB would be an acceptable middle ground for me.

I haven't looked at the spoiler, but my guess for tonight is Montell and AN Other in the dance off, Pete does a Houdini again, and Montell goes. She had a poor night.

That makes a lot of sense about Chris' posture. I haven't watched the full show yet, I will watch this afternoon on my sky recordings, but I did watch Chris and Dianne on youtube and they were amazing.

I really hope Dianne's parents were there last night, people don't usually travel all the way from Australia for a one week holiday.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 27,915 Mod ✭✭✭✭Posy

If they are staying with Dianne for Christmas , I doubt they would automatically get tickets for all 4 shows they'd be over for. They might be back in next week or come for the final. (Fingers crossed they're in it!) I was glad they didn't show them last night, it might start to wear thin with people!

Dianne did a blindfold challenge on Instagram (it's hilarious and well worth a watch) and she was bent double once she couldn't see. Chris had to keep telling her to walk properly! 😂

If anyone hasn't seen Dianne's blindfold challenge, it's a few minutes long, but very funny.
