    Charged to 95% a few days ago. Drove all the way down to 0km and only achieved 170 kilometres😂

    No not really to be honest. I wasn’t in chill mode but I wasn’t exactly flooring it either. Didn’t spin the wheels once. A/C and heated seat was on for I’d say 90% of the time

    2019 with 135k km btw. Range was 300km or so in Summer

    What battery is that? And age/mileage?

    I don't think I could get near that in mine (2021 lfp 80k km) regardless of how hard I tried!

    2019 Standard Range with 135k km. Yeah I definitely could have gotten less if I tried.

    50 kWh I think.
    In other news I drove to donegal the other day. Speed limit at least all the way 246km. Normal heating, seats, steering wheel, whatever the auto looked for.

    Averaged 15.8 kWh/100km.
    2022 MY LR with AB.
    but used 53% of the battery so ignoring the theoretical maths of the kWh/100km into the battery capacity, just using the % figure, rough range of 465km. First time using a public charger in over 5 years. Hotel Errigal, added €8 to top it up to get home. 31c/kwh which is very honest charging for their 11kw chargers.

    Hey all, it's time I moved across to Electric. Been driving a 2016 330e for the last 5 years, and while I love the car as a stepping stone into the electric world, the hybrid element of the car is fairly pointless

    I'm going to look at this 2019 Tesla Model 3 tomorrow, and just wondering from your good selves, what to look out for, and a reason to buy, or a reason not to buy if that is the case!!

    My background:

    I do about 150km city driving a week is reality, with 1 trip to Tipperary (from Dublin) per month, and maybe 4 or 5 country runs a year, as far as Donegal or Galway (so the range in this Tesla should cover me to get there at least?!)

    We have a ICE car also (Renault Megane), so that can cover long distance anyway without range anxiety. She loves that car, so that car will have to stay (so don't suggest selling that 😂. It was her fathers car too, who died and left it to her)

    My budget is 23K max retail (I'll be trading in my car)

    I've looked at other electric cars in that price range, and the only one I may be interested in is an ID.3. All the others' styling, does't really do anything for me

    I have an external charger already lined up. My mate had a Tesla, which he sold for a Range Rover at the start of the year, and I have another mate to install it 😁

    Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

    Mileage is low but seems a bit overpriced. Tbh I could probably sell you mine for like €5k less if you wanted. But yeah as you can see from my post if you like having the heater on constantly then the Winter range won’t be great but Summer range is like 330km sometimes. I’ve owned two of these and that seems to be the normal range

    The Model 3 is supremely efficient for motorway travel relative to its battery size, meaning you can just drive it quick without hypermiling. It will get to Tipp and Galway fine even in winter from 90-100% charge but you will arrive with 5-15% in deep winter from 100% so it depends on the turnaround time to come back and availability of destination chargers.

    For the Tipp journeys you have the Ballacolla Tesla chargers which are very reliable and rarely full, so it means stopping en route. For Galway and Donegal, you are subject to the vagaries of destination ESB chargers or similar but probably OK most days. The SR+ will be fine, but I would probably spend 23-25k and get a long-range model so there is more flexibility.

    As an example, I drove to Galway in a 2019-made SR+ (190km) when it was -3 degrees leaving and 5 degrees on arrival, making good time at 120kph average. Had 8% on arrival and sourced a slow charger as was not returning that day. With a LR model, I could skip the slow charger and stop in Athenry's Tesla chargers on the way back. Way back I left with 87% (sentry depletion over night) and could have made it driving at 100kph but opted to drive normal and stop in Enfield (Tesla, but open to masses).

    the blue always comes up well after a proper wash and polish.

    It has been dechromed too, which I like. Removable if you rather the chrome around the windows etc.

    Just out of general warranty so they negotiate a decent warranty from the garage but has 4 years remaining on the battery and drivetrain. 73k which is below average too.

    It’s due an NCT this month so make sure it comes with a fresh 2 years remaining test. The dealer should be able to get a booking this side of Christmas. That will at least give you some comfort to its general condition underneath etc

    It looks alright, you should get some warranty on the car beyond the Tesla warranty too. Check when in 2020 it was registered. It might be out of the basic warranty and just have the battery warranty left. (which is still pretty good).

    If you do go for it, once its in your name, book it in for a service on the app and add a pre end of warranty check and they will check it for anything that needs doing under warranty before it runs out at 80km or 4yrs (this might be out already unless its a dec car or has an extended warranty). Not alot goes wrong apart from suspension which is fixable by most mechanics.

    That looks expensive to me. I've a 231 and I'd say I'd struggle to get 28-29k for it with 30k km.

    You could buy one from a private seller with the exact same warranty for about €4k less. Even dealers are selling them for €4k less, albeit with higher mileage, but still within battery & drivetrain warranty

    You could come up to a 221 for around €3k in a private sale with better warranty and better car

    Would agree with slave1, the later model has the LFP Battery, more range, better equipment, incl Ryzen chip, electric boot etc. Better value for not a lot more.

    Has anyone bought "Certified Pre-owned" from Tesla directly? Are they overpriced?

    One apparent advantage is they all have enhanced autopilot enabled.

    Didn't think it was standard in 2000 but could well be wrong. A handy addition anyway. It also has the newer centre console I see from ad.

    I thought the same, I've a 221 and I thought the factory fitted powered boot and that interior only came out then, I think the center area on earlier models had a glossy black look to it…

    I think they changed the interior a bit earlier, around 2020. And the silver external trim on windows was lost around same time. And many fitted the powered tailgate as an extra. I am no expert, just going from memory.

    But the main changes came in late 2021/early 2022 with the LFP battery, double glazing in front, Lithium 12V, Ryzen chip, etc.

    That reg is 4 digits away from mine, so its a Dec 2020 reg.

    The 2020 Q4 deliveries were the first batch of 2021 refresh models, meaning elec boot, dechrome, laminated glass, updated interior, heat pump etc.

    But the first batch were builds from Fremont (US). Deliveries from Q1 2021 onwards were from China.

    2 main differences between the Fremont vs MIC 2021 refresh models:

    1. Has 50kWh NMC battery rather than 55 kWh LFP, so daily driving recommended charging is 80%. Therefore slightly less range than a 2021 reg. But will be slightly quicker than the MIC models and have a better DC charging curve in cold weather.
    2. Will have older Intel Atom processor rather than faster/updated Ryzen.

    I had a large number of warranty issues in first 2 years (multiple cameras, panel alignment, elec boot motor, tail lights, suspension/track rods/bushes, AC charger, steering) but all were sorted under warranty. At times I felt like my workplace was the Sandyford SC.

    Every chance its an 4 year ex-lease vehicle. Expect to see quite a few of ex-lease cars hitting the market from now on. Not an issue as it 'should' mean its been well maintained, depending on the drivers diligence.

    If I were looking between this and a 211 reg, I would go the MIC model simply based on the fact it will have been a better built car out of the factory and your now out of general warranty (apart from battery & drivetrain).

    Thanks for the detailed response, that makes sense. I think i am going to pull the trigger on the one that i tagged. I jsut asked the dealer to verify when the last Tesla Service was, if it was a while ago i am going to ask him to arrange it before buying as it might throw up any issues.

    BTW you are correct about it being an ex lease, it was leased to SISK as far as i know.

    Bear in mind, there's no official Tesla Service required. you can ask for the car to go to tesla for a check up/service as part of the sale alright but don't be alarmed if there's no records of service with tesla as its not like the German or legacies that require to service it with them every year, a glorified NCT visual check!
