Hi should I buy a new 2025 Tesla model 3 RWD( first time buying an EV) on Hire purchase over 3 years €15K down and €634 pm for 3 years at .99% APR …. I was originally thinking of buying a 2021 (LFP batteries) model with low mileage ( hard to find) however dealers are looking for between €25-27K model 3's seem to be holding there value well. Any advice appreciated ?

Me personally, I would put down the minimum deposit and put the remainder in a bunq savings account where you will receive 3.36% interest.

What you'll earn from bunq will more than cover the .99% Tesla interest and more importantly it'll prevent the savings from being eroded by inflation (0.1% as of October 2024).

Defo buy the new Model 3. My wife is going to get one. There's a chance they will try to match you with a car before the end of December but more likely it will be Q1 2025

Also, although Finance Ireland have said they will honour the 0.99% finance rate into 2025, it’s likely that the price of the 2025 Model 3 will increase by a couple of thousand when the EU-Chinese tariffs are applied. Unless Tesla absorb some/all of them.

Finally, make sure you use a referral code when ordering, have a look in the referral thread, lots of needy owners (not me) have posted their codes over there :)

Thanks …. so can you order now specifically asking for 2025…. I was thinking of going for the quicksilver colour… Also what happens as soon as you put the €250 order down. Does Finance Ireland contact you pretty quick for the deposit?

February is the current est. delivery date for RWD so you will get a 2025.

when you pay the €250 deposit you will get an email asking you to download the Tesla app and that will walk you through the steps available. How you pay for the car I.e cash or finance is one of those steps.

You wont have to ask. The website tells you 2025 is the estimated delivery date.

Tesla land cars here in Feb/Mar, June, and Aug/Sept, each year.

    here’s ‘23 & ‘24, but it’s the same for 21,22

Cars also delivered in November and maybe December this year.. appointments have issued with collections happening this week. Details of registrations usually issue at month end so not in above graphic.

Or buy my February 2022 blue RWD with 35000kms and in perfect condition. I decided to buy a new one to take advantage of the 0.99% rate and I’d be happy to do a reasonable deal for the current model. Any deal we would do would mean a few quid more for me than the derisory trade in offer and a fair discount for you on the dealer prices. Still more than a year of the manufacturers warranty left so anything a dealer might offer is moot.

PM me if it’s of interest….

People collecting since last week alright. But seems drips and drabs.

Fair enough, my point was that what happened last year has no bearing on this year and cars "will be and are being delivered in November and most likely Decemeber". Those waiting will be anxious enough and I didn't want them to worry unnecessarily if they had delivery slots for this year

For all ye M3 Highland LR folks Acceleration Boost is being rolled out at same cost as previous Model 3. Far East first but I'd say won't be long until it hits Europe. Nice easy revenue stream for Q4

My stuff on Adverts, mostly Tesla Pre Highland Model 3

Public Profile active ads for slave1

I'll do it for half price if anyone wants it :)

Does anyone know what the situation is with the EU-China tariffs? Looking to potentially put a deposit down on a M3 before Christmas which would mean a delivery date of Q1 2025. Is the price I pay the deposit for now, the price I’ll pay when I pick it up?

Generally, the T&C have a print about local taxes and tariffs that Tesla (and all other manufacturers) are not liable for. So in theory the price could go up if the tariffs are implemented by the time your car comes. On the other hand, order now, when the time comes, if the price increases and you’re not happy, cancel and get the 250e refund.

Looks unlikely that tariffs will be applied to Chinese EV imports, substantial resistance from large EU countries (Germany) who fear a retaliatory response from China which would damage their interests, as China is a large export market for German cars. Although voted through by the EU .. most likely a tactic to leverage their negotiation position. What is more likely is agreement by China to agree minimum prices for their cars within Europe, which if set at the right level achieve the primary objective of protecting European markets from below cost imports. Time will tell.

The European Union (EU) and China are close to an agreement on tariffs for Chinese electric vehicle (EV) imports into the EU, reported Reuters, citing a German broadcaster.

Speaking to n-tv, Bernd Lange, chair of the trade committee of the European Parliament said: “We are close to an agreement: China could commit to offering e-cars in the EU at a minimum price.

not sure what this means exactly yet, if China agrees to sell EV no cheaper than say 30k, does it mean they wont be any tariff

Quick one: Has anyone successfully played around with ASS (Actually Smart Summon)?

I tried it a couple of times, it seems to show up a wider area for telling the car to travel, rather than the limited 5-6 feet before. It won't work if you have to cross a public road. Also, it now shows a live feed in the app of the outside cameras. "In a future update", you won't have to hold the button for the car to keep moving.

Butit takes too flipping long to come out of sleep mode that it doesn't seem worth it. I've always just given up instead of using it, even for a laugh. If you leave summon in active standby it should reduce the wake time, I don't fancy leaving the car in a standby mode using up battery just in case I wanted to use this feature.

Looking for a sanity check before I fork out a fortune on tyres.
20" Ubertines, going with 245 with curb protection instead of the factory 235 with curb attraction.

Anyone any thoughts on my choice below?

Pilot Sport 5’s are out now if you wanted to price them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,650 ✭✭✭Conar

I did look at them but I figured for the extra 120 (4 tyres) that the better performance of the 4s's and the MFS (rim protection) might make it the more sensible option. As careful as I've tried I've managed to skim the wheels twice.

Yeah I went for the 245 4s for the rear recently, definitely a better fit

    Estimated delivery, Feb 2025.
