Latest from met eireann, now predicting 19 degrees.

Rather cloudy, mostly dry and very mild for the time of year, today. There will be some patches of drizzle, with hill and coastal fog in the south and east. Some bright or sunny spells will occur too though. Highest temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees, warmest in those sunny breaks. Light to moderate southerly winds will be fresher near western coasts.

Phoenix Park reported 19 degrees at 13:00, record temperature for November is 20.1?

New November record set for Casement which provisionally reported 18.0C at 1100 GMT. Old record was 17.7C on 12th Nov 1990.

Additionally, the Phoenix Park AWS has reported 19.0C which whilst not a record would be the highest here since 1927. It's possible higher was achieved within the hour but it's dropped since.

Casement has had record high temperatures for each meteorological autumn month in the past 2 years.

Different worlds between south Dublin and north Wicklow. Was in Dundrum and sunny/18c there. Back in Greystones and dank/foggy/light drizzle and 14c.

Wet, foggy and mild in Gorey. Has been fairly damp the last couple of days.

If we had this in summer we'd be up to High 20s or low 30s but I ain't complaining, so tropical out , mind you even after the mild nights we've had it was still chilly in the gaff last night, at one stage it was warmer out than in lol 😆 I've seen no sun in maybe 10 days but this mild and dry weather I like , I'd say we could have a change maybe the last ⅓ of the month

15 degrees, and a clear night sky, which makes the temperature even more impressive.

Still over 15C here near Tralee with a high of 18.1C today.

Morning sunshine followed by a mostly cloudy day with brief sunny breaks and pockets of blue sky. A few drops at one stage. Breezy tonight.

The constant nothingness is pretty relentless here in Co. Wexford. At least today was "different" as there was thick fog all day, something to remind you that weather can indeed change from day to day. Otherwise it has been constant 14/15C day and night, damp, still, overcast, grey, nothing, nothing, nothing…. for as long I can remember, possibly years?

There is some respite driving to the beach for a walk with the dog, there was actually a breeze there today so it wasn't as foggy as inland, then the drizzle ramped up to full power and soaked my internal organs somehow and I was grateful.

Another plague of flies tonight. Finally got the lawn cut after the breeze dried the grass. Hopefully last cut.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

It's going to get a lot colder as November goes on. I'd imagine we will be seeing some frost near the end and some rain other days too.

    Mild and stormy December?

17c still in Valentia , the 15.5c record November highest lowest temperature could be beaten if temperatures stay like that till I think 06:00

    06 Nov 24 from 0:00 to 23:39. Wicklow town.

    Mist & drizzle all day.

    Min 14.2c

    Max 14.8c

Just a 0.6c range shows how the thick cloud cover acted a thermal influence.

Just received a replacement temperature & humidity sensor, and dont think the temperature part of the PCB is affected

It has to stay above 15.5C from 09-09, not 0600. It didn't, it dropped all the way to 13.8C by 0900 this morning. It was 15.4C yesterday morning at 0900 anyway so wouldn't have been a new record but a noteworthy mild night nonetheless.

90% chance of you being right for December. No doubt Christmas Day to New Year will be anyway!

I’d give anything for a very cold Christmas to New Year period.

This prolonged and extremely mild and cloudy spell is likely to last another week however there are increasing signs that things will cool down significantly after mid month with temperatures back down to single digits or a little above depending on how cool it becomes, also likely to become more unsettled for later in the month. Brief shots of proper cold down from the north are still popping up in the models but these usually get shifted east closer to the time and miss us.

Feels like I genuinely haven’t seen the actual sun itself in over a week

Mowed the lawn today. Most definitely the latest ever mow, in thirty years of lawn maintenance.

The last few days have been awful in Cork, gloomy damp and very mild. No sign of the sun.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,094 ✭✭✭.Donegal.

Soil temperatures are way above were they should be. No signs of growth stopping yet.

It has been warmer than average over the last week with mean air temperatures 10.7 and 13.3 degrees, which is 2.5 to 3.7 degrees above normal. Mean soil temperatures are generally 3 or 4 degrees above average, ranging from 10.7 to 12.8 degrees. Temperatures in the coming week will stay around 2 or 3 degrees above average.
