Heavy fog in Naas this morning. First use of the fog lights this season.

Freezing this morning for the first time in ages in Dublin. First time I've needed gloves and hat for a while on bike commute. It's a nice day though you can actually see the sky.

Cold and foggy this morning. But it's bright(ish) with the Sun being obscured. 5c, N Kildare

If rain and wind isn't your thing, it's been a good November.

Sunshine, Cork harbour, not as warm as previous days.

A cool crisp morning in Oranmore at 5 degrees but nothing to do with Tayto.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

the very mild weather of the past few weeks is on the way out and temperatures more normal for the time of year along with some much needed sunshine.

Very heavy dew this morning in Galway, but a beautifully sunny, calm and warm morning. Funny how conditions can be so different just down the road, only 4°c and foggy in Shannon.

An average of 5 per hour isn’t a great return but worth looking at sky after dark if you’re out, especially over the next two nights

The Northern Taurids are active from October until the beginning of December - but the coming days are expected to see them produce very bright meteors.

Experts say the astronomical event only produces around five meteors every hour, but they are worth the wait because of their intensity in the sky

The Taurids are described as "very slow" as they pass through the sky at 17 miles per second - or 65,000mph.

They are also spread out and this allows the shower to be visible for longer periods of time as the Earth ploughs through the comet's debris.

Interesting thanks for that. In what location of the sky should one look.

Taurid meteor shower 2024: peak expected Monday night - BBC Weather

"To find Taurus, look for the constellation Orion and then peer to the north-east to find the red star Aldebaran, the star in the bull's eye. Shooting stars will be visible all over the night sky so move your gaze around the nearby constellations."

Orion was in the East last night around 11pm (ESE)

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

I'm equally surprised there's no warning , I'd say that fog isn't going anywhere till tomorrow afternoon at the earliest but I could be wrong

Some stunning skies out there at the moment.

Give me foggy days and nights over windy rainy muck any day of the week

After a beautiful sunny day in rural longford, ground mist began to form about an hour ago and it's now very thick and still thickening. Thickest fog that I've seen in a while.

After the last 10 days/2 weeks (with all the gloom) nearly forgot what a sunset looked like! Nice one this evening in Greystones.

The fog has thickened further. I don't think I've ever seen fog as thick as this. I'm driving to Meath shortly. It'll be a slow drive!
