Blue skies now in Galway. Dry and so mild.

I could do with a breeze to dry the grass completely and do final cut.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

That cold intrusion midmonth is getting pushed. The HP is relentless. We'd be having a tropical summer if it was July.

First glimpse of the sun in a week here in Greystones now!

I swear, the next time we get a cold, dry northerly (which traditionally gives lots of snow to parts of the North and West but leaves the East bone dry) I won't complain or look on in envy. I'll just be thankful for the sun!

I swear - as a snow bunny in Dublin I don't even want an easterly at this stage. A bone dry northerly for ten days please!

It is dry, calm and 14c at 21:00 in November 🤨

    Exceptionally mild night for November

Now I am really grateful for the mild weather, you can be outside and comfortable, there was no complaints of anyone been freezing at sidelines at football tonight!

However I haven't seen sight of the sun in over 10 days and I was even out of the country for some of that! While it's mild it's not dry, sick of the frizzy hair effect of this weather😁.

I think there is some merit in this. A freezing day in Ireland is more likely to be a cold, fresh sunny day which would be probably better for us then the usually damp, rainy day of 7-8 degrees.

People who come back from countries where they were skiing and it could be absolutely baltic but they come back talking about how it was freezing but it was a 'dry' cold and they feel great.

We know that asthma suffers don't do well here once the winter kicks and it's not the cold it's the damp cold that gets them.

Remarkably warm and humid this morning in Tralee with sunshine, got into a work car and thought the heat was on but not, driving through town with windows fully down. In short sleeves and feels like a summers morning, I see 16C rounded being reported already at Kerry Airport and has the feel of getting over 17C today. The last couple of nights had the unusual presence of clouds of midges and insects all over the outside of the house. My young fella left the window of the bathroom open and light on and I was greeted by a swarm of midges, Im sure I got a few bites last night!

Driving through North Kerry yesterday and seeing fields full of cattle still out with good grass and silage being cut and the juxtaposition of seeing the trees dropping all their golden leaves makes it feel a bit surreal.

Very strange to have this warmth so late. Feels lovely though! 17°c reported at 10am in Kerry, Derry and Casement. Wouldn't get that on a fine summers day.

Casement reporting 18c now. Mad….but great for the heating bills!

Indeed, 17c in my location N Kildare, warmer than a lot of the days in the recent Summer. You just know though if we do have a very mild winter we'll again more than likely pay for it in the spring and next Summer

Gorgeous in Galway with good sunshine at the moment and a south easterly breeze. If it wasn't for the bare trees and leaves everywhere you wouldn't think it's November!

Feel jealous of all this talk of sunshine in other places but we're under a blanket of fog and thick cloud in Wicklow. Very dark damp morning here so far.

Athenry and Phoenix Park, along with Casement, reporting 18c at 1100.

Murky and dank in Greystones. 14.6c atm.

Yeah it's kinda strange seeing all the leaves down and this warm weather. It just feels off. I have hardly lit the stove for the past week. Warm breeze today.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Met Eireann website showing a minimum of 17 at midnight tonight for my location.

I wonder will we hit 19C anywhere. Being selfish and thinking of the November contest!

Walked out of work in D24 at 12.30 to a full sun and a genuine feel of heat. Amazing for November.

Got to 21° a short while ago in D24, during a spell of sunshine. It's mostly cloudy again now but it's still mild, rather than warm a short while ago. The breeze has picked up slightly as well but is still fairly light.
