Hey, he's gone after blacks again, this time Giannis Antetokounmpo, two-time NBA MVP, doubting his origin (greek citizen). In his usually dogwhistle way, Trump claimed more "Greek DNA" than Giannis.

I'd say "some." We'll see if it's 'plenty' in a few days. Makes for a nice meme though.

I think it’s that type of condescension that is driving “some” of the switch over to MAGA- they don’t want to hear the lectures anymore

No political candidate should be pandering to the Arab American vote etc

As Theodore Roosevelt said : "There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all."

It is absolutely the case that the Biden/Harris administration has given the 2 fingers to the Muslim community because of what is happening in Palestine and America's support for Israel.

I wouldn't fault a single Muslim who cannot consciously vote for Harris on the back of that such as been the devastation in Palestine. If Harris wins next week, I would love to see Washington filled with Pro-Palestinian protests every weekend until the conflict stops.

But, I know that objectively, someone within the current administration looked at things and judged whether they would lose more votes by supporting Israel, or reigning them in, and unfortunately, it was the former and so things have progressed as they have.

If I was voting in the US, I would absolutely vote for Harris, and then demand she act to stop that conflict. I don't want the conflict to stop under Trump by him emboldening Israel to go to further extremes.

None of this is of any consolation whatsoever to the Palestinians, it is a harsh reality in todays world that they have been abandoned to such an extent that its not a question of if they will die, but how many of them will do so.

In fairness “some” yeah I’ll take that - let’s see just how many

I'd rather virtue signalling any day above head in the sand trying to pretend a problem doesn't exist.

And I didn't refer to betters in the media and politics, they are your words, and your spin on my post. I referred to educated/experienced and responsible experts in various fields. The UK is learning the harsh lesson right now of choosing populism over experts and they're going to be dealing with that choice for decades.

another day ending in Y and th er MAGA domestic terrorist given permission by Trump to be a garbage Nazi:

volunteers from the St. Clair Shores Democratic Club were working the tent and told Lafond it was a Harris/Walz campaign tent. Lafond allegedly yelled derogatory insults at the group, including anti-LGBTQ slurs.

Officials say Lafond then told the canvassers that, when Trump wins, he would "exterminate" people like them. He then returned to his vehicle and accelerated toward the canvassers, who jumped out of the way. Lafond then left the scene.

"He gunned his vehicle so fast that I legitimately thought I was about to die. I thought this man was going to kill me," said Melissa Crook, a volunteer for the St. Clair Shores Democratic Club. "I still don't know how he was able to stop his car that fast because it's not an electric vehicle, but he did, and I'm thankful that he did, but I thought that was it and I would never see my loved ones again."

Lafond is charged with three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon – a four-year felony – and three counts of ethnic intimidation – a two-year felony.

If they were so sure they had this election cinched up the election crimes really don’t show it.

Arab Americans are Americans like everyone else, the vast majority are not extremists as you seen to be implying. They're just getting on with life like everyone else. Hyphenated Americans are pretty standard btw, you're not losing it over Irish Americans or Italian Americans...

Oh wow, someone who isn't running for election had the time to travel to Austin to take part in a podcast. He's so brave.

And also, whatever about the Arab American vote, I don’t understand how the overall ethnic support difference between Rep and Dem has reduced from previous elections - it’s like turkeys voting for Christmas all round

I hope I'm wrong but I think Harris is going to win, Tesla stock was battered all week and Musk has completely hitched his wagon to team trump

Smart money signalling a Harris win

I'll listen to two hours or so but it has to be a genuinely informative show. Eg there's a film history one that I listen to and it clocks in at 1.5 hours an episode. But a general interview, I'd only listen to an hour max tbh.

I'm not here to praise Biden by default on Trump's statements about the differences between his presidency and Biden's presidency. I think Trump's statements that he has done more than any other president ever is wearing down his support. He keeps rolling out that line no matter what the issue is, no matter that the facts say different.

He might get a bit more support by saying "ok, I screwed up on that, I apologise and I'll do better next time". His fallibility is showing through. People can smell the B/S from a distance now.

I think Allred beats Cruz in TX but that Trump takes their EC votes.

Florida is a bit different mainly due to the additional ballot measure but particularly IMO the Abortion & Marijuana ballots. I think those in particular will drive a degree of turnout that does threaten an EC flip in Florida.

I do think that Powell-Murcaso beats Rick Scott in the Senate race there too.

SCOTUS has declined to hear an emergency appeal from republicans to overturn a Pennsylvania State Supreme Court which ordered that state's election officials must count provisional ballots cast by voters whose mail-in ballots were rejected. Had the republicans appeal been allowed proceed to a hearing, thousands of provisional ballots may have ended up not being counted in Pennsylvania, seeing as the 05th Nov voting day is so close.

But objectively, there's no comparison between the 2 Presidencies. I'm not posting this to counter your point, I'm posting it to underline it.

Biden delivered Covid Recovery. Infrastructure and Chips and Science Acts all major pieces of legislation that surpassed anything that Trump delivered. And objectively speaking, America's recovery from Covid was better than in most other countries. He was responsible for capping insulin medication costs and for introducing prescription negotiations with pharma companies for the first time. He delivered student debt relief for millions. He proposed a Border Bill that was on tracked to be passed in the house before Trump told Johnson to can it. He delivered on funding for Ukraine and Israel despite a Republicans (who controlled the house) arguing against it with increasing volume.

And aside from the legislative side, he had zero crises to deal with from within his administration, maybe his defense secretary going to hospital was as close as it got in that respect. He had minimal changes in key positions or acrimony and infighting compared to what we saw under Trump. And zero of his administration have earned felony charges while serving for him. And his tone throughout was Presidential. Exactly what it should be from the office.

There's only a single metric by which Trump is more renowned than Biden, and that's in the category of Bluff and Bluster, the rhetoric, the false promises, the false claims, the attention seeking all of which Trump did vastly more of. Trump wanted his tenure to be about President Trump, Biden wanted his to be about 'The United States President'. Two very different approaches to the job.

As the political pollster Frank Lunz commented after Trumps disastrous debate, which he called as a major moment for Trump losing the election, and the only way to claw back would be to hide under a rock to election day and let his team manage the publicity. Lunz reckoned he would walk it then.

But the narcissist buffoon within Trump couldn’t do this. He’s been the best Dem driver that’s cumulated with the MSG rally being the final deciding nail in the coffin for many voters.

the GA early count is in: 4,004,588

This is nearly the same number of early votes as during Covid (4,013,155)

That’s very impressive turnout considering all things. Over a million more people voted in person this time around, vs in 2020 they cast mail in ballots.

and today he’s endorsed the comedian from the MSG rally who made the floating garbage attack about Puerto Rico.

    His own worst enemy within.

he is an extreme narcissist, he needs attention, he needs the adulation of the crowds, he needs to be the centre of the narrative, but he isn’t the same man from 2016, he has grown stale.

Yes different, his levels of narcissism is on a debilitating level, it guides all of his actions/fundamental to his existence. It leaves him open to exploitation and manipulation.

Police wise , there is no difference between either candidate, only difference is style of communication

Police wise one has a rap sheet and the other used to write them.

Policy wise? One has the concept of a health plan and a hard on for project 2025. The other has a list of actual policies and broad range of business & industrial support as well as the backing of a majority of economists on the parts of their economic plan that can be costed.

Trump won Texas and Florida in 2020 by 5.5 and 3.2 % respectively. They are small wins. I can't see Trump getting as much votes as the last time. Harris hopefully gets a silent and women's vote. I'm hoping it's going to be a comfortable win for her.

I think this is a very strong, rational, and well argued appeal to non-MAGA republicans:

C'mon, more context, what's in the video, what genocide are you talking about, why does it apply to Harris and not trump?
