Trumps press conference is just more of the same rascist bullshit - nothing new no sniff of an apology to Hispanics.
    Banging the deportation drum.
    None event.

Media duped again. They should leave when it's obviously not a press conference. Plus as usual he was over an hour late.

I find this comment odd, particularly considering that there is a reasonably good chance Trump will win. I certainly won't deny that but Kamala is far more the Statesman than Trump. Out of the two of them, while she is unlikely to be up there as one of the strongest presidents, in this two horse race she is a far more capable candidate. That does not mean she will win but I can't believe anyone over here on the outside could genuinely look in, with all the information that is out there and believe Trump is more capable.

Apologise for what? He doesn't disagree with what was said. His feelings on immigrants is not based on economic or housing/services etc that normally are the basis for the call for stopping immigration.

His 'poisoning the blood' remark, and so many others besides, demonstrate he actively thinks that immigrants are less value people than Americans. As one other speaker at the event, Millar I believe, said America for Americans.

Puerto Rico offers him nothing. There are no votes to be gained, or indeed lost, so it is of no importance to him. But it sounds foreign and the people over there are probably poorer than the US so they must be held in contempt.

Well, at least some Republicans are aware \ realising that there are significant numbers of eligible voters of Puerto Rican ancestry… hence their distancing themselves from the comments. Otherwise, completely agree with your earlier points.

    A GOP Strategist said this.

    A STRATEGIST.

    https://www.mediaite.com/news/gop-strategist-on-cnn-jokes-good-news-about-racist-trump-rally-joke-puerto-rico-doesnt-have-any-electoral-votes/

MARK MCKINNON: Yeah, well, you know, I mean, the thing that happened at the Garden — and first of all, you show Donald Trump’s clip, that’s not worth getting a lot of the news. He’s finally getting the right message and he’s on message, even if his surrogates aren’t.

And the key question is, you know, how much what showed up in, you know, actual daily newspapers in swing states. And I’m told that those Puerto Rican comments didn’t really show up. If Trump’s message is breaking through, that’s obviously the right message.

The good news is Puerto Rico doesn’t have any electoral votes.

While Biden got 70% of the PR vote in PA in 2020, Donald Trump still got 24%. And that's not even including people in the state who aren't Puerto Rican and offended by it, or in other swing states for that matter.

About 400,000 Puerto Rican Americans live in Pennsylvania.

Trump won the commonwealth by fewer than 5,000 votes in 2016 and lost it by over 80,000. In no way can he afford to piss away 20-25% of the Puerto Ricans in Pennsylvania who supported him last time.

The 'floating garbage' "joke" along with the glib dismissals by eg. JD Vance and their S T R A T E G I S T S, may have forfeited Pennsylvania to Kamala Harris.

    https://www.mediaite.com/politics/jd-vance-says-hes-not-sure-if-racist-jokes-at-trump-rally-were-racist-im-so-over-it/

["]I haven’t seen the joke. I know, maybe maybe it’s a stupid racist joke like you said, maybe it’s not. I haven’t seen it. I’m not going to comment on the specifics of the joke. But I think that we have to stop getting so offended at every little thing in the United States of America. I’m just, I’m so over it.”

I disagree. Puerto ricans and those of that heritage are a significant minority in the US. Losing them could cost him the election in swing states since it's so finely balanced.

There is nothing to be gained for Trump by bashing minorities now. Those that don't like migrants or Puerto Ricans were going to vote for him anyway.

You don't engage with anyone who uses the word 'weird'?

    How... bizarre…

Following on from Overheal's remarks on Vance:

JD Vance on the racist joke, a moral vacuum of a man, a walking suit, there is no lie, no weasel words he won't say straight to camera:

["]I haven’t seen the joke. I know, maybe maybe it’s a stupid racist joke like you said, maybe it’s not. I haven’t seen it. I’m not going to comment on the specifics of the joke. But I think that we have to stop getting so offended at every little thing in the United States of America. I’m just, I’m so over it.”

They aren't offended by every little thing. They are offended by the hateful racists and the morally bankrupt types like Vance who excuse them.

Should I pull up his comments feigning offense at all the couch gags?

No apologies. The MSG rally was a "love fest" according to Trump.

I think that poster may be banned for a day so it wouldn't be fair for me to respond to their original post.

It is absolutely ludicrous to suggest that Trump handled Covid very well. He did very little right. He downplayed it, he said it would fade away to nothin, he focused on blaming China more than handling the issue. He played politics with Aid and Supplies and in some cases hijacked PPE supplies due for states and had it redirected to Federal supply lines. He completely hijacked the communications message and did so while focusing primarily on ratings. He undermined massively the direction and guidance from the CDC and particularly that of Anthony Fauci. And he fought with the media throughout it all. Blaming them for how people reacted to what he had said.

He absolutely would have waltzed home but for the fiasco he made of Covid and his contribution to the BLM topic that same summer. Both of these events actually should have been an aid to him with respect to re-election. On Covid, step back, led medical experts lead, tell people he would make up for things in his next term, but they should just vote for him and help everyone get through it safely. BLM, he could have appointed a handful of influential black people to a panel to report to him how the black community felt about policing, but he'd need a second term to give them time to give a report and for him to act on it.

We saw what he did, and those of us who said he was going to be incompetent at the Presidential stuff, were proven 100% to be correct.

Is it in the same memory hole as the MAGA social media tweets etc that the Democrats were the 'divisive' ones?

Not quite. Tariffs hit employment, output and incomes in the exporting country, and they hit consumers in the importing country. The scope for exporters absorbing a tariff will be low if margins are already squeezed by competition so most of the tariffs are passed on to importers/consumers. Who will gain are domestic firms (and their employees) which can now compete behind tariff barriers. However there is an overall economic loss, when production is distorted in this way.

Tariff Men is Trumpian stupidity on steroids.

Don't forget he handed over a bunch of Covid kit to Putin while Americans were literally dying by the hundreds without it.

So not only is he ignorant he's also utterly compromised.

    America Russia first.

On that very point, here's Boris with the mother of all Freudian slips recently....

It's the first time I've ever agreed with Boris.

Please excuse me, while I go shower with a scouring pad and some bleach

Trump isn't even filling the small indoor venues he's booked.

In Atlanta, an 8000+ venue (McCamish Pavilion) and upper sections completely empty.
Lots of people leaving after 30 minutes.
    Georgia is a swing state.

There were also entire sections at the top of the arena that were empty, despite Trump boasting about how many more people wanted to be inside.

Video and photos in below link: https://www.the-express.com/news/politics/152953/Trump-atlanta-crowd-empty-missing

Sort of true. They loved him and that's really all he cares about.

This is a man who said of Qanon - "I really don't know anything about them, except that they like me, which I appreciate."

That was the sitting president saying that, no less.

One of the MAGA nuts said there was over 40,000 at MSG, when the capacity is something like 20,000.

    The spin keeps on spinning.

    I'm glad he didn't apologise.

We'd have known he didn't mean it if he did. At least now we don't have to put up with people on here claiming the whole thing is put to bed because he apologised.

How did the matrix glitch so much that Boris, Donald and Bolsonaro were not just leaders of large and consequential countries but leaders during a once in a generation pandemic.

2 have several criminal cases against them, how Boris doesn't is a complete head scratcher.

Heavy money moving in favour of Trump with the latest bookies odds.

This is beginning to look really bad for team Harris.

It's beginning to feel like you have an automated post about the betting markets. They've been entirely corrupted by a handful of mega wealthy people. So treating them as a sure sign of anything is foolish.

    Trump: 'I know-nothing about him'

    https://www.mediaite.com/politics/trump-distances-himself-from-comedian-tony-hinchcliffe-amid-joke-fallout-i-dont-know-who-he-is/

Confirming again this is a modern know-nothing movement of xenophobes.

It's interesting his handlers claim he doesn't know the guy and never even heard a word he uttered at MSG but also Trump said of everything he saw and heard it was a 'love fest'

"We have a coalition nobody’s ever seen anything like. I don’t think anybody has ever seen anything like what happened the other night. At Madison Square Garden. The love, The love, the love in that room. It was breathtaking. And you could have filled it many, many times with the people that were unable to get in. But politicians that have been doing this for a long time, 30 and 40 years, said there’s never been an event so beautiful. It was like a love fest, an absolute love fest. And it was my honor to be involved."

Simultaneously a breathtaking lovefest it was his honor to be involved with and also if anything bad was said I never heard it and I don't know who said it.

So, in other words he heard it and he doesn't have the balls to call it out in case it upsets the know-nothing xenophobe movement he has orchestrated.

People have been saying its looking bad for Team Harris ever since she started to run, but the polls havn't really budged.

One thing is for sure. Someone is going to get a shock on November the 6th(or 7th, or 9th).
