"American voters will now ask themselves who is the most capable candidate to run a country, and the answer will never be Kamala."

You're incorrect, according to.. well.. your own post of the 25th October 2024

    But that's not true though.

Harris is capable. you Trump supporters have run away every time you're challenged to explain why.

Trump is not capable. Every time you guys are asked to explain why he is, or explain any of his failings, or even explain what you believe he will do, you run away.

You're simply declaring victory based on nothing. It's very odd.

the Puerto Rican scandal is looking pretty serious

I'm not convinced. Trump himself has said worse things about Central Americans, in apparent sincerity, and they turned out to be nine-day wonders. So that gives just enough time for this one to be past by the election…

It's rare we've seen this kind of back peddling and distancing from the Trump camp though. If they thought that it wasn't as big a deal as the other stuff they've done, they'd be doing the same vague handwaving and underhanded encouraging. This time though I think they've realised their mistake.

I think they might just now have realised that Puerto Ricans living in the states can vote.

To be honest, I think Trump could be outed as an agent for a foreign country and I don't think it would change much now. Trump is totemic at this point - A candidate for the disillusioned, the angry and those that have been upset by change.

The fact that he won't be able to reverse most of those changes or indeed address the anger seems beside the point. As long as he upsets the other side seems to be enough.

It would remind you of NI in some ways.

There is no contradiction there, we’ve been through this last week, the attributes for Kamala indicate she will be an excellent aunty, the attributes assigned to Mr Trump indicate he is ideal to run a country.

This is an election for the president of the United States of America, it’s not an interview for a job in a crèche.

    Again weird phrasing here.

What do you mean "she would be an excellent auntie?"

Your post is completely false, but you refuse to actually engage.

Trump looks to have taken the lead, Big week ahead

They know it's a HUGE deal. That could well be Pennsylvania gone for Trump.

It isn't just the Prueto Rico comment. That could, in isolation, be waved off as a joke by a comedian. It doesn't deal with the terrible decision to book him given his clear comedy style so serious questions still need to be answered as to why it was felt appropriate for him to be booked in the first place).

The main problem is that is just a very small part of the event, but the theme it dealt with was running throughout the event.

    Calling Harris a prostitute

    Saying all Democrats of despicable.

Claiming Harris is the anti-Christ and the devil.

Trump admitted that he had a secret plan with Speaker Johnson to corrupt the election process.

The overall tone of the event was one of clear racism and hatred. That cannot be easily waved away. It yet again highlights the dangers and brings everyone back to thinking about Jan 6th

It is close enough, that people are actively voting, that it may well have an impact.

It will have little impact of those that have already decided on Trump. If everything they already knew about him didn't put them off then the rally will have only given them extra reason to like him, and look forward to him becoming POTUS.

But it may well have an impact on those that were on the fence. Those who were maybe thinking of not bothering to vote.

Her attributes - competence, honesty and temperament.

It's revealing that you read this and think "aunty". It's almost as if you're incapable of thinking of a female in any professional capacity or role, nevermind her becoming Attorney General and Senator, before becoming VP.

There's a reason none of the supporters on the thread are tackling any of these points.

It's just the manic "betting says Trumps ahead. It's going to be great."

I can picture the smiles they're forcing.

Not weird phrasing at all. He says 'Kamala' but refers to Trump as 'Mr.Trump'. Says Kamala will be an excellent aunty and that this isn't an interview for a creche.

It's not weird phrasing. It's absolutely intentionally misogynistic phrasing.

II'm getting a weird racial vibe from the term too.

Would just like the poster to explain it in his own words. Not hopeful though.

I only have 2 rules, I don’t engage with anyone who uses the word weird, or anyone who calls me a misogynist, you will have to excuse me but it’s necessary for me to still post on boards. I hope you understand, love to all, have a great day.

So questions dodged. You have no defense.

Your labels are just sexism then.

As I said you Trump supporters run from everything put to you. You demonstrate this again.

If you are going to just engage in this kind of sexist labeling at least be honest about it.

District Attorney, Attorney General, Senator, Vice President.

Imagine somebody having that career path and being considered incapable in a high public service position. It’s streets ahead of any experience Trump has and I’m including his presidency as he spent most of it golfing.

You'd have to wonder how often some is called a misogynist before it reached the stage that the mere mention of that word became a cause for immediate withdrawal from a discussion.

Not even called a misogynist. Just pointing out that dismissing a highly qualified public servant as "applying for a job as an aunty" is misogynistic, possibly racist and a bit weird given that's not really a term used like that in Ireland.

Trump is about to give a presser at his gaff.

Whats the chances he apologises for the racist comments from multiple speakers on Sunday?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,048 ✭✭✭✭Leroy42

It is incredible how easily offended Trump supporters are. Harris is incompetent, low IQ, the devil, a prostitute, she slept her way to the top. Immigrants are rapists and murderers. Puerto Rico is a garbage island. African countries are sh1tholes.

And yet it is pointed out that the language someone is using is misogynistic and that is a step too far for them?

    As usual, its the hypocrisy.

It doesn't come down to what Trump or Harris says, its simply down to who people think will improve their lot. Trump has said many ridiculous things but if joe bloggs think he can improve his lot he will vote for him.

If he would have handled the covid period very well he would have been president now.

    Fact is he didn't.

Inflation is/was a global issue, we over here are suffering from it and so does the American people, making it a Biden issue is nonsensical

You should have issues then supporting a weird and misogynistic candidate then…

    Ohh wait you don't

I was watching CNN live last night and saw that all happen. The host went to a quick break and Gidursky was gone when the break was over. To be fair, they acted very fast.

Don't know a huge amount about Kinzinger but I can't see Cheney being able to move the dial. We all know where her old pops lead the US into…I have friends over there who lost very close friends in a war that was unwise/illegal/catastrophic…pick your favourite term…Until they break from that I don't see someone like Cheney ever appealing to more than a narrow base on neocon nutjobs. Was it even wise for KH to go around parading with her?

The problem for Joe Bloggs is if DJT goes ahead with his tarrif plans some things are going to get very expensive.

60% increase in things made in China.

Your General Tso's chicken is made in the US, so that is safe, but everything from Dell computers, to Levi jeans, iPhone, many home electrics, clothing, furniture.
