FIerce little interest in the cork club championship going by this

    Fair point…

Personally I must admit since the onset of the 12 team sections (Prem Sen; Sen A etc…) I've really gotten back into the cork club championships - I try to follow the top 3 grades & then keep an eye on local teams in the others. gaacork website is pretty good for following (typical website is down right now when I check!!!); I had planned on attending a batch of games this past weekend as a neutral but the weather scuppered my plans. I normally like to write up a general review & predictions here - but you are correct as a topic it doesn't generate a lot of discussion which is a shame.

On the hurling finals that are now confirmed:

Prem Sen: Sars v Imokilly - Could be a cracker Imokilly when they get going are a machine but Sars as reigning champs will take beating

Sen A: Glen v Blarney - most peoples picks for the two finalists at the start of the year. All predictions would say it must be Glen R returning back to Prem Senior ranks - but I have a sneaky suspicion that Blarney could cause an upset…

Prem Int: Carrigaline v Winners Watergrasshill v Mallow tricky to call but Carrig have had an unreal year promoted to Div 1 in the league (I think) so I'll go with them

Int A: only at semi-final stage Ballygiblin v Lisgoold & Midleton v Erins Own. Have to expect the 1st semi winners will be favorites against 2nd teams but you never know

Football this weekend - lets wait until the website is back up and running…

Most Cork GAA fans post on the People Republic of Cork forum to be fair rather than boards. Plenty of activity over there about all grades

The only problem though is that i find that PROC forum to be bit of a cesspit. There's still some very good posters as well though to be fair, but a post by one fella on there during the summer calling for Davy Fitz to be Cork manager is typical of some of the stupidity you can find on there!🤣

Hard see Mallow getting anywhere near Nemo at weekend

Who do you reckon will win the the Senior A football semi final games at the weekend?

    Kanturk v Carrigaline?

    Knocknagree v Dohenys?

I can't call them, tight games. Maybe Kanturk to win the first game and Knocknagree to shade the second but both games could go either way.

Great appointments on both fronts, good luck to them.

Dont know about McCormacks previous efforts but great to see Ricken back involved. 1 year term a bit unusual though

Great win for Carrigaline in a really tight game. I think they probably edged it over the course of the match but it really could have gone either way.

Knocknagree won the other semi. They won convincingly. Can't call the final.

    Delighted to see Ricken back.

Fergal is a gentleman. Hope it works out for him and minors.

As expected, Nemo win handy enough and Castlehaven will be a much sterner test in 2 weeks as they had 4 points to spare over the Barrs - Brian Hurley with around 7 points from play!

Should be a tight enough final, if all are available, I would give the nod to 'Haven.

i dont contribute but i read it from time to time , some good posters some idiots , its good for local hurling and football i find but the joyce vs downey debate during the summer was incredible 😂

The footballers will be starting next years championship away to Limerick in the quarter finals. The winners will be playing Kerry in the semi final so there's no handy route to a Munster final there.

I think Imokilly will have too much for Sars!

The Senior A final is going to be a cracker! Both teams are Premier quality! I fancy Blarney to just pip it!

Brian Hurley was unstoppable in the football yesterday but I thought the Barrs were a bit naive in their tactics at times.

Glen look to have things fairly wrapped up with Hoggie getting a goal to go 12 clear, into the second half. Blarney with the gale but Glen are just too good.

That was a miraculous recovery by that Sars 10 there... rolling around the ground one min then all of a sudden is up and away..

With the wind behind them, Imokilly should quickly eat into SARS lead.

Imokilly very poor. Missed two open goals

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,749 ✭✭✭✭ACitizenErased

Just as I say this they rattle the net, finally 😅

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,288 ✭✭✭awaywithyou

No 14 for Imokilly has he played for Cork at any level?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,345 ✭✭✭zetecescort

poor 2nd half from Sars, won't do much in Munster

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,002 ✭✭✭Vinnie222

    1st half wasn't great either

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 34,937 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

Imokily woke up in the second half and simply blew them away, scoring 1-18 in the process.

dose the cannon o'brien cup count , he was very good today i believe he is not long out of under 20s for cork

horgan impressed me more then anyone in both games today , his frees in the second half against the wind were bang down the middle from 50 yards , barrett missed two from closer with the wind which could have been huge in the last ten minutes of that game
