We were robbed in matches over the years in both men and women's codes and there wasn't too many tears shed for us i can tell you! Of course it's tough for the losing team but that's sport for you. You have no choice but to suck it up. Well done to a fine Cork team on yet another all Ireland win for them.

Not sure how Frank is still to blame. Over two million was spent preparing the hurlers, hardly cutting corners?

the wheel will turn dont worry , i just hope it turns in time for hoggie to win his all ireland

i mentioned before we have a mutual friend in ennis that's a buisness man that he deals with through work , he was very frank with him after the 2022 all ireland 1/4 final and very frank with the media in the league last year , hes a straight talker (like yourself 😂) but very likable because of his talent

he has every right to be aggrieved about the final incident of the game , but even if we did have a var system that day , half of the county of clare was on the pitch celebrating by the time anyone spotted the jersey pull on the replay , it would have created havoc , but if it was middle of the game and it happened , and johnny ryan didnt see it he would have been alerted by his umpires or linesman

i think thats what hoggie is hinting at , a real hurling debate needs to take place though , do we need to let everything go like johnny ryan did , or do we need to call nearly every foul like the few in the media have being pointing out over the last few weeks , i reckon letting it go is the best option and have for years it makes for a far better spectral but its always going to be tougher on the losing team

Oh if we're going to let things go so it won't ruin the spectacle, then we way may as well throw away the rulebook altogether.🤣

Just on the "controversial" goal cork got last week.

If you like closely the ball takes the slight change in spin and direction. The Cork player only got slightest of touch but technically it was perfect goal.

Ref was poor never the less but for me goal was fine.

The road trips to Ennis and Limerick will go a long way to determining if we get out of Munster or not.

Conor Lehanes performance for his club was something else… i have always seen him as a very special player.. the Tony Kelly of Cork.. is there another year in him at intercounty?

    I hope not.

I've seen him play countless games in red where he has little to nothing.

he does play well for Midleton but needs to be moved on.
the likes of Alan Walsh from Kanturk need to be given a go! 3-3 from play yesterday. The 3rd goal was unbelievable.

I'm sure a lot of folk have see the videos from the Nemo game, they speak for themselves.

Reading accounts of the Ballinhassig/Piarsaigh game and there will be serious consequences surely there too.

I fully expect serious bans to be handed out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 415 ✭✭Innish_Rebel

Yeah I think most people have probably seen the video of Grenagh v Nemo. Very nasty - long bans hopefully.

But the Ballinhassig v Na Piarsaig is on a different level - I've seen the pictures of the aftermath & read a couple of reports - that young man should be before the courts - that is violent assault & there is no place for it anywhere.

It's going in two long in the GAA ,long bans appeals and barely any ban.. Surely it's a time the GAA handed out a couple of years bans?

Starts at the top, how many players and managers have actually served a ban without appealing first? John Mullane nearly 20 years ago one that stands out, hard to think of many others

I remember saying years ago that Glanmire were the sleeping giants of Ladies Football. They have had great success in recent years and progressing from Junior to Senior ( winning an All Ireland on the way) and today they beat the mighty Mourneabbey by a point in the championship.

I presume so but I haven't really been following it, could be a group situation.

Top 3 thru isn’t it? 1st into semis so they have a 1/4 final

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 220 ✭✭Bot1

That was Colin Walsh I think.

The thing is though that it's not that Lehane just 'plays well' for Midleton. He's their star player. Midleton legend!! He's a highlight reel of a player and outplays many of the intercounty forwards on the other club teams! How he didn't come on in extra-time of the All Ireland Final is beyond me!!!
