Reporter: “What do you think about Trump’s mental acuity and whether it has declined?”

Kamala: “I invite the public to watch Trump’s rallies and be the decision-maker on his acuity. You will see how he goes off on tangents, how he is not focused on the needs of the American people.”

Has it gone beyond the impeccable and well regarded Hindustan times? Honestly, this is more suitable for the conspiracy theories forum. Are you gonna cover weather control next?

Taking the early voting stats and doing some comparisons across a few of the swing states.

I had a look at the age patterns - see below:

    Age

    North Carolina

    Georgia

    Pennsylvania

    Michigan

    18-25

    7.1%

    3.6%

    3.6%

    2.8%

    26-40

    12.8%

    10.5%

    10.6%

    7.4%

    41-65

    29.6%

    25.2%

    27.8%

    27.9%

    Over 65

    50.5%

    60.6%

    58.0%

    61.8%

One very interesting number that I highlighted. Student-age voting in North Carolina is double that of the others. Still early days so I wouldn't read too much into it but if that trend could be sustained, it would be very good for Harris.

You should obviously take this with a huge pinch of salt but here's a firsthand account of a Dem volunteer door-knocking in Bucks County PA (very purple county).

I’m not sure my own nerves are solid enough to watch this in real time. I live in a lot of hope that all with go well, but 2016 left a mark. I might try to maintain radio silence on the night and reemerge later the next day in the hope that the sky hadn’t fallen on on our collective heads (and by that I mean everyone’s heads…including the “centrists” who somehow think a Trump win won’t impact them badly.)

Do you agree with that the tweeter that it’s a sign Harris is cooked? If so, that’s rank stupidity.

SNL have made fun of every Presidential candidate for as long as they’ve been on the air

So is Trump saying he will use the US military against its own citizens if he wins? Those who don't support him?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,022 ✭✭✭✭briany

This point has been addressed numerous times. The last time Trump was in office, at least some of his cabinet were people who still prioritised the US constitution above Trump's whims and wishes in the cases where those two things differed. It's looking pretty unlikely that this will be the case in a second Trump term, considering that his current running mate has refused to condemn Trump's conduct around Jan 6th and Laura Loomer is currently a trusted advisor to Trump himself. It's also not encouraging that he 'truthed' out a message that was a word cloud about him with 'REVENGE' in the centre in big red letters.

But remember it's the Democrats using violent rhetoric.

Trump means something else when he says that the Military will deal with people he deems to be "radical left" and maybe also the people coming in who "destroyed the country."

I’m currently laughing my ass off at the stories coming out of Coachella at the Trump rally.

Can’t wait to see the blame for this somehow land on the democrats as well, somehow.

MAGA Republican can't even organise this rally… abandon their own supporters.

This is what they will do to the country if Trump wins. Trump is incapable of responsible governance.

You say that with no reasons , on the other hand the Dems should heve decided that Biden wasnt sharp as a pin a little earlier and had a normal Democatic convention to pick the best but that would have driven the progressives mad, they wanted their first "black" female President regardless of merit. Funny to watch though, you would think if according to Dems democracy was on the ticket they would have taken it a bit more seriously? , now lil' hitler has a good chance of winning ha ha!

I am not sure the Western world has recovered yet from it.

US President pandering to Russian leader who has since invaded an independant state.

Caused an insurrection at the Capital when he lost.

Laughed as his supporters chanting for the hanging of his Vice President.

I am sure more intelligent people than me can add many more bad things that that night ended inflicting on all of us.

No, I've very good reason to believe that you guys are making this accusation based on her race and your own biases.

For example how you put black in scare quotes indicates that you don't have very informed or rational views of her heritage.

AAnother example is when her accomplishments are pointed out, you Trump supporters fall silent again.

Who you believe would have been the better choice? You clearly must have someone in mind and are able to prove that they are a better choice beyond your own uninformed and biased opinion.

Otherwise you are basing your accusation on Harris' race alone.

Your ha ha show where you are coming from and it's not from a dedicated follower of Trump. When you wake up and find, as he promised, his boot on your neck, you might look back and rethink on your wishes.

I think MAGA will go full Stalin in order to take the election. That’s the plan

It explains how a candidate can intimidate the voter and sway the result without legal sanction.

The Republicans, or at least, the Magas, are organising squads of people to 'supervise' the polling stations. Is the government preparing for this by having the army, or more likely the National Guard available to make sure these people do not interfere with the election? They manage to enforce rules about not giving out water to the lines (why are there lines anyway?) and so on, but people can mob the doors and mess with the counting without restraint it seems. It would be a real test of whether individuals in the the military have respect for their role, or are Magas.

I can't speak for the rest of Europe but in Ireland and the UK it is understood that freedom to vote easily and without hindrance is a right that benefits all sides. Presumably it used to be the same in the US, but cannot now be anticipated as a right. Between that, and the fact that the 'free speech' right to simply tell lies and defame the opposition is more important than the electorate being informed and told the truth, the chance of a fair election is pretty remote.

I cannot tell now whether my view that ultimately Harris will win, and the win be upheld, is based on judgment or wishful thinking.

Speaking of Coachella - Another "gun-man" arrested nearby

This time he is inarguably a Republican - Ran for election in 2022 as a GOP candidate and failed.

He's a Sovereign Citizen loon as well.

Given they never had a democratic race its not for me to say who they should have picked, this is why its funny watching on their predicament. Honestly at this stage its better that not be in office for 4 years and throw out the dead wood and dinosaurs like the Pelosis etc. and somehow recentre them themselves

I'm waiting to see what the motivation is yet for his actions; as in possibly being a person showing up to guard his president from assassins.

You’re talking absolute nonsense. They had 2 Democratic nomination races. Biden won the first.

The 2nd race had one runner. No one else entered for the good of the party and the country.

You talk like there’s on way to nominate a candidate that’s acceptable. Each party decides what’s acceptable. Get over it.
