10CC tonight at Cork Opera House

Was a fairly last minute decision by me to go to this show, even had to get tge earlier flight from Schipol to make it but definitely worth it. Great show, full of energy and the audience were up for a great night.

After some bad chatty gigs this year.

The crowd at a Bill Callahan gig renews faith in mankind.

The scratch got a small but enthusiastic crowd, and were predictably brilliant

I don't get pennywise but their crowd seemed to fcuking love them.

Dropkicks are Dropkicks, predictably chaotic, Al is still looking after his mother and Ken tore his Achilles so is doing the whole tour on a moon boot, nice mix of songs for the casuals and the sickos.

Ringo Starr cancelled last night so ended up going to AEW instead, enjoyable show but obviously not the second best Beatle.

Walked into strawberry fields in central park and a busker played octopus's garden as soon as I sat down, so that was nice.

Dallas Cowboys Vs New york giants tonight in the MetLife, closing the most intense 9 days of my life.......

Not expecting much feedback but needed to get my Stereo MCs disappointment off my chest. Had concerns about drummer replacement (RIP) and how many girlos there'd be.

Can't fault the main man and Cath on vocals but definitely something missing. Few bangers as expected and a nice housey reworking of Step It Up, but proper drummer is needed and full quota of girlos.

Bet you I won’t notice. Banging is all I want, bring it on! 😋

Yes they are, and there was loads of them there all having a great time.

I'd still prefer the Commitments-style 3 on vocals that they've had in the past

    gybe...

got a lovely spot behind the sound desk. gaze kept drifting to the projectorist which was a performance itself.

god help anyone who didn't have earplugs in for that gig.

Drummer went unnoticed but you were right about the three voices. Budget cuts or fall-out?

Buffalo Tom in a packed Whelans tonight was pretty special. 90's college rock anthems. Great new album as well.

Elvis Costello and Steve Nieve, Vicar Street.

A deconstruction and reconstruction of songs over his 45+ year career, but most of us there got it.

    I'm partial to your abracadabra
I'm raptured by the joy of it all

Big Country absolutely bangin tonight at Opium , once they got the sound issues sorted .( First half hour couldn't hear the guitars , and they are all guitars !)

Jangly guitars and great vocals from the new guy Tommie Paxton ( Restless Natives , Big Country tribute band ) who stood in for Simon Hough who left just before this tour started.

Crowd knew every word and " hoy " ...brilliant atmosphere 🤗

Budget cuts I'd say, small enough tour venues so pared back show makes sense.

For me the live drummer was the big loss - some guy on bongos and a fisher-price kit doesn't cut it for me. Tho maybe I'm the problem

Anyone like a free ticket for Melts at The Button Factory tonight?

I thought I was just about over the lurgee in time but I've given it to my wife instead, so don't want to leave her with the kids 😕

First come first served. If you PM me an email address or phone number I can send you ticket (pdf, as I got it through Singular Artists not TM)

Yes, very good. Just don't expect any of the songs to sound the same as the records 😉

I was at this too, immense occasion.

Was greedy and did both nights in fact. That new one 'Aspiral' was an instant earworm.

Great to hear Sirens and Crimson Bow and Arrow in the set.

The sheer scale of the production let alone the choir was quite a sight to behold you wouldn't know where to look. So certainly made the most of the second night to get different points of view. Only copped the singer from Mayan being one of the the main back up singers, duh.

Hopefully a return here on the next album. Met some of the band and had a brief chat after the second show, they want to but obviously not in their hands.

I’m loving this sign in the back! Mind officially blown once again by the sheer musical talent in this country.

And I know what to do about it! 😎
