Looked way more than 2/3 full to me. I’m at an age ( and height 😉) where I appreciate the seated option, so no complaints from me there. I don’t think they played many of the Tim Finn co-written sings, apart From Weather With You. The new songs sounded decent, and I liked the Greek guys contribution, the solo on Four Seasons in One Day was particularly good.

Was anyone there for the support? Was it Liam Finn? Got in just as it was ending and it was some bloke going mad on the drums ?

Crowded House on Monday night was a good gig and particularly enjoyed 'Weather With You', Split Enzs 'Message To My Girl' (pity it wasn't 'I Got You' or ''History Never Repeats') and the last few songs. Disappointing 'Its Only Natural' wasn't played but getting 'Mean To Me' made up for it. The chatting by the band got a bit tedious but they are great at the craft. I can see why 'Neil Finn' joined up with Fleetwood Mac a few years back. I'd feel the gig during the summer would of been better due to having a better support bill in 'The Waterboys' and 'Amble'

Next up 'Sleep Token In the Co Op Arena in Manchester at the end of November

Great photos. Loved his show at the Olympia a few years back... think he was chased around by Frankenstein's monster at some point.

They stopped taking new users due the level of scamming that statted happening. I think the only way now is to get an existing user to vouch for you. No idea how you do that though. Maybe there's a contact button on there.

Yep, it got pretty bad around Coldplay I think.

    From their site:

Until we develop an effective vetting process for new users, we will only allow new accounts if an established account with evidence of successful past deals vouches for you. Please have the member vouching for you email us at info@toutless.com to begin that process.

I’m Admin for a local FB community group and the amount of Coldplay tickets we had up for sale was relentless, even today they were trying to sell for Coldplay gigs overseas. All fake.

The Oasis tickets started being offered as soon as they were released.

I suppose as long as you have desperate people these scams will continue.

Yet, equally brilliant bands without the public profile will play to tiny audiences in tiny venues up and down the country. ‘‘Tis mad Bob. 🙄

Search #ticketfairy on Twitter and hit latest. Amazed that people will transfer cash to whats clearly a scam account before they get the tickets.

I've had a bit of fun with some of them. They get very angry when you waste their time.

Sky did a good behind the scenes on this last week. Fraud in general but gives you an iea of the scale.

Saw "The Frank & Walters" (acoustic) on Saturday night in a church in Monkstown.

Crowd were dead but they were on fire! They did two covers, "The Model" and "7 Nation Army".

I have the audio for the latter but have to see what format I can post here - not its current format anyway!

Will have to go and see them again now in December, where it'll be rowdier, I'm guessing.

Just Mustard very good in the Spirit Store last night. A Halloween theme to the evening which had Katie wearing a big spider on her back and David done up like Frankenstein/Herman Munster!!! Seemed to be quite a few new songs but i might be wrong on that. More uptempo than usual which i'm unsure about tbh. I prefer them slow, dark and moody. Support came from Limerick band Theatre. With the right backing i can see big things for them. On a dreampop tip, very Cocteau Twins/Slowdive sound with something else going on too. Music and image well honed already. My fear would be any success would see them become too polished quicker than you can say Pillow Queens.

All in all, a quality night.

Seen them live a couple of times & very enjoyable. There's always that disconnect between wanting a band to do well vs them becoming too 'smoothed out' & 'produced' etc. Feel a wee bit like this about NewDad too.

Two Frank Turner concerts in two nights in Switzerland earlier this week, the man knows how to put on a show. Skinny Lister great fun too as support.

Got totally lost in the maze that is The Workman’s. Nobody heard of a free gig.

Getting there and back I listened to

Did anyone here see them live?

Just to be clear, it was Theatre i was talking about with regards to being smoothed out. I have no such worries for Just Mustard.

No, but I've seen Gavin Friday back in 2011 at the Olympia, with Sinead O'Connor as a special guest. He was still a fantastic performer. New album out this week, I'll give it a listen.

2025 gigs: Selofan, Alison Moyet, Wardruna, Gavin Friday, Orla Gartland, The Courettes, Scissor Sisters, Nine Inch Nails, Stipe, The Rocky Horror Show, Rhiannon Giddens, New Purple Celebration, Nova Twins

Ah, I see. I was wondering! Let's hope Just Mustard, too, preserve their rawness.

I've been to a lot of top gigs this year, but I must say the Pat McManus 'Lifetime Achievement' gig during the Ballyshannon Rhythm & Blues Festival last night was right up there.

The heavy rock scene was never my thing growing up, although I did catch Mamas Boys a few times in my youth. But the talent on display last night was fantastic.

The Pat McManus Band was joined at various stages by Barry Devlin and Jim Lockhart for a number of Horslips classics. Seamie O'Dowd and Johnny Gallagher were also among the guests. With Garry Moore and Jimi Hendrix tracks interspersed with Mama Boys numbers and other great blues, the (understandably) older crowd was treated to a great two and a half hours of top live music.

The Pat McManus Band play the Grand Social on the 9th of Novermber.

Looking forward to this Rachael Lavelle gig in the An Taibhdhearc tonight, I have a session at Taafes at 5.30 and finish at 7.30 PM and then I'll whisk down to the gig. 😀
