Interested to hear how anyone who used this link got on… Did you wait until you were out of contract to use the link. I'm just entering the final 30 days of my contract and wondering do I need to wait until out of contract to get the offer. Have you heard anything from them since. They say in the link that: An email confirming all the details of your new offer will be sent to you by email within the next 72 hours.

I got a letter a few weeks back saying my contract was finished on the 10th of August. So I just waited until the 10th to do it just incase.

No email, no nothing heard back from them, most recent bill issued had the offer applied.

Just used that link myself on Sunday, confirmed it today that it's been applied - half price for 12 more months, no haggling, no begging.

    I love you guys!!

Used the link also. No contact from them after filling out form but just got my half price bill. Happy days. Thanks for posting

Just used it too so hoping it will be still working. Easy way to save. Thanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,221 ✭✭✭Patser

Just to add, I got no confirmation email after using that link, and rang them a few days later to start cancellation process as contract was ending. Girl on phone mentioned that she could see I was down for another 12 months half price. Took 20 mins on hold to get through.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,431 ✭✭✭ziggyman17

We also used that link, but got no confirmation email, so phoned up, our bill was 199 a month, so asked about the loyalty offer and we were given half price for 12 months, the new streaming box and upgraded the broadband to 2gb, so we will be paying 98 euros a month for the next 12 months..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,591 ✭✭✭CoBo55

Have you anything in the house that can use 2gig? You must have the ftth as the co-ax can't do 2gig.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 105 ✭✭Bazmo

For those who tried the link and got the offer - did your equipment remain unchanged?

Have TV360 box (and am in a fibre area, but get signal via coax). I like my BBC recording ability and have no interest in getting a new streaming box.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,615 ✭✭✭baldbear

I was paying €60 a month, used that link provides in this thread (thanks) and didn't get any email. I rang to say I was cancelling but before I got to my spiel was told I am currently signed up to €30 and the email will now be sent out. I'm happy enough to be saving €30 a month

I did nothing but yet Virgin e-mailed me today saying they’re automatically increasing my 250Mb broadband only plan to 500Mb

“To say thanks we’re boosting your broadband speed.

From September 13th 2024, your broadband will automatically be boosted to 500Mb, and you won’t have to do anything at all. There’ll be no new contract, no additional charges, no new kit, no interruption to service.”

Funny thing is, I don’t have the fibre brought to the house so I’ve no idea how they’re gonna give me 500Mb if there’s ’no new kit’ required.

I’m surprised Virgin give anything, wonder what the catch is?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,591 ✭✭✭CoBo55

The white modem will handle 500 no bother at all, you don't need fibre the co-ax system will go up to 1gig.

Used the link last month and got my first bill yesterday.

A bit of a weird one. I was on 31 off 70 for the last 12 months. My total bill before discounts was €140 as its for August and September. The discounts I got were:

    • 31 off 70 for August (-€31)
    • 50% half price for August (-€19.51)
    • 50% half price for September (-€35)

It appears I got a double benefit in August and (roughly) received a 75% discount!

Do you need to be out of contract to use the link, mine is not up till November?

I'm also out of contract early November, rang loyalty department last week who weren't able to give me any decent offer and I gave notice to close my account.

I used the online form a few days ago and didn't hear anything back. Rang loyalty department today and they have told me the notice to close the account has been cancelled and I have been entered into a new 12 month contract as of this week with the discount applied.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,591 ✭✭✭CoBo55

I'm asking for a BB and TV customer, if he clicks the link does it just start a new half price deal for 12 months? He has the 360 box and is terrified they'll enter him into a new deal cancelling the 360 box and they'd send him out a streaming box, I'm almost certain this won't happen but I just want to be certain.

It looks like it just extends the status quo with the discount applied, I haven't been contacted advising that they are sending me the new streaming box.

They had advised me previously that if I upgrade my service or avail of a different bundle then I'd have to get the new streaming box and fibre line installed within the house. Status quo with a discount is fine with me!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,591 ✭✭✭CoBo55

Thanks for that, he has a fibre installation as it's a recent new install.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 317 ✭✭Bubonic

Just to confirm, I used the link and its applied to the latest bill, which means in the last week I've gone to twice the speed for half the price.

Thanks to everyone who posted it!

I'm out of contact early December, should I fill the form now or wait until November? Thanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 586 ✭✭✭jonnybravo

Applied to mine too. Never got an email to confirm it but I just checked my bills and it was applied.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,545 ✭✭✭Luckycharm

I used the link a week ago, have not got any confirmation email should I ring them or wait for bill?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,210 ✭✭✭bren2001

I never got confirmation. Next bill came and it was half price. That simple

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 586 ✭✭✭jonnybravo

Yeah I just waited for the bill. Was going to cancel and put it into my own name but left it until the next bill and it was there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,384 ✭✭✭Eire Go Brach

We normally cancel by email and then the other partner renews. So we are always on a new customer deal.

Are people now getting a cheaper price for 12 months then the new customer deal?

Signed up to the link around 2nd October. Contracted expired on the 4th October and bill issued on the 7th (today). Gone from 54 euro a month down to half price 52 euro of the 104 euro. Happy days I found this trend! It delays the song and dance for 12 months :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,545 ✭✭✭Luckycharm

Got my first Bill and it was half price, this is my bargain of the year plus saved me hours on the phone trying to haggle with them on my year dance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 609 ✭✭✭EarWig

VM could well finally be feeling the competitive pressure.

Great to hear all these good news stories.

Thank you, just filled it in, hopefully works at this stage

I was offered 9 months half price over the phone , just fyi for the thread.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,843 ✭✭✭Arciphel

Just completed the link online as I was just about the call them up, thanks for posting 😀

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,759 ✭✭✭gtg60

    Great thread!

Contract up today, used the above loyalty offer link on Friday and can see in the new Virgin Media App that I'm on the loyalty offer already. (I did not receive the promised email).

FYI, I was on €39 a month (€31 off) for the first year, and now it's €34.99, so happy days!

The real bonus, of course, is not having to ring and be on hold for 40mins+

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 105 ✭✭Bazmo

Asked before but didn't get a definite response.

For anyone who successfully used the link and was using a TV360 box - did you get to keep on using the TV360 box or were you sent one of the new streaming boxes (the small ones where you can't record RTE/BBC).

    Thanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 374 ✭✭brian2614

I carried on as usual with the same setup, only thing that changed was the price by 50% and a new a 12 month contract

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,591 ✭✭✭CoBo55

Everything stays the same just the price gets halved, winner winner ☺️

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 105 ✭✭Bazmo

Thanks folks - will give it a bash.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 90 ✭✭VM Varga

I canceled because the person on Virgin’s Customer Care didn’t offer any decent discount. Saw this thread about an hour later (after getting cancellation emails) and followed the link, so it’ll be interesting to see whether it works out or not

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,591 ✭✭✭CoBo55

Surely you'll need to stop the cancellation, don't mess it up for everyone else.

I called today to give my 30 day notice to cancel.

Does anyone know when you can expect an email regarding confirmation of your cancellation after you call them up? Thanks all.

Edit: nevermind, got an email and text about 10 mins later

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,234 ✭✭✭Amouar

Where in the app did you see that the offer was applied to your account?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,759 ✭✭✭gtg60

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 254 ✭✭Wheeker

I've tried this link twice now, probably 6 weeks ago & again 3 weeks ago, but I've received no text or e-mail & my bills still haven't reduced. Has this worked for everyone who has tried it? Is it still worth calling them? Annoyed I never received the loyalty offer in the first place as I've been with ntl/upc/virgin media for 25 years now!

I presume virgin media will have a black Friday offer. Any idea of when this will start? Im out of contract with Vodafone for broadband.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,591 ✭✭✭CoBo55

I was with them for many years and never saw a BF offer on either TV or broadband, they did have offers on mobile alright.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 158 ✭✭geriatric

Thanks, I could be wrong but I thought they were giving away game consoles last year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,591 ✭✭✭CoBo55

Maybe they were, I've absolutely zero interest in game consoles tbh.

Yup, last year they gave away Xboxs. I got 60 euro a month 1gb internet, TV, and a Xbox.
