They didn't want to transfer they wanted to assist!

People should really do some research before they post on here

I stand corrected... didn't even realise assist was a thing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 384 ✭✭tommylad1212

They have been doing it past couple of years, and were told by the board last year that they couldn't do after that and that they would have to transfer, But they wanted to continue to assist

Whats the difference between a transfer and an assist?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,943 ✭✭✭914

The really did blitz the minor championship, I wouldn't mind that looked a good Roanmore team, I saw them twice and they looked good, I would have expected a tighter game.

I was hoping to get into it tonight, did anyone get in? Did Roanmore just collapse or what happened?

If I am not mistaken a lot of that BG team are up to the age this year

There is an agreement in place when a western Club are in the County Final.

Agreement when West Waterford Team in County Final.

Following on from the u15 match - Ballygunner v Na Rísigh, I've heard the sanctions handed down but what do they actually mean? I assumed banned from attending games or/and coaching Teams but 1 individual I won't mention by name was in with the 'press/media' gang on Sunday in Walsh Park. I'm appalled that WLR or The Munster Express would continue to have dealings with this particular individual!

That’s a ludicrous comment from Davy. If you follow the Deise, disappointed is guaranteed and we are stoic about it if anything. What annoys supporters is playing sweepers with a gale at your back, leaving great forwards out- numbered chasing shadows. Tippy tappy sideways going nowhere hurling and losing without a fight.
This year, we played great hurling win, lose or draw and left every game happy or disappointed with the result but no blame attached to players or management either way.
Maybe we should be more demanding. Maybe Davey should have held himself to higher standards and expectations.

That sounds basically like a fella that couldn't hack it for fear of not getting out of Munster for a 3rd year in a row.

First time I've seen him say something like that that I can recall, to be honest glad he's gone if that's his belief.

Have no sympathy for them. They had a choice to play with a local amalgamated hurling only team in the Junior Hurling Championship but instead have no interest in representing their local area and wanted to play senior hurling instead.

Cheek of Waterford supporters to have a bit of ambition

The big issue with Davy was how he played down Waterford. The year before Davy came in we won the league and had a bit of a mare in Munster. Did we really have a bad Munster that year? Bet Tipp, poor against Cork, played great against limerick and just fell apart against Clare)

The same players were still there and still looked like they could go toe to toe with Limerick.

Davy rocks in states it's a 2-3 year plan and not even a mention of a 2-3 plan to win an All Ireland.

Constantly went on about the issues in the team and what they need to over come.

He stated off so negative not just in his play but in his comments anyone else would have came in and said "last year is done, the lads won a league and just had a poor run in Munster, we know move forward" focus on thr positives.

The negativity that he came with was unbelievable.

It was refreshed to hear Queally say how he feels they are still one of the best teams in Ireland and how the ultimate aim is to win an All Ireland, a bit of positivity goes a long way.

Davy can go and s***e after those comments

the atmosphere in Walsh Park for the Cork and Tipp games was as good as I’ve seen in many years and that’s despite the tripe hurling served up in the 12 months prior. Supporters were clearly behind the team

he was poxed to get the job in the first place after the state he left things in the last time

    good riddance to him

Did their own clubs not field hurling teams this year, is that not the issue?

What are the thoughts on Sunday? Handy win for Ballygunner?

    Gleeson appears to agree

You have those sort of people that are looking for stuff to spread it around. Waterford fans are great when they’re going well but when things are bad they’re probably the worst around, that’s being completely honest with you. It’s a hard place to be when things are not going right.

Hopefully the year out help get rid of those negative thoughts

The Antrim game in the league could be tasty after those comments. The Davy Fitz brand must be paying more than RTE given one member of his coaching ticket

Self serving comments from Davy Fitzgerald as usual. I wouldn't pay much attention to them.

As for Abbeyside v Ballygunner hopefully Abbeyside can keep up their form from the last 2 games. We need a competitive county final as Ballygunner dominance isn't healthy for the club game. No other top hurling county has seen a team do 10 in a row in modern times and the fact that they hammered Roanmore in the minor final shows their strength at underage too. WLR ad on radio talks about Ballygunner going for a historic 11 in a row but no mention if Abbeyside win they would be winning a historic 1st title.

3 county titles down for decision this weekend.

I fancy Kilrossanty to get over the line against Roanmore in the Junior A decider after finally getting out of the west.

Clashmore’s win over Ballysaggart was a bit of a surprise. They are playing a very efficient game and will put it up to the Brickeys. I still expect Brickeys to come out on top and achieve back to back promotions, which would be a huge achievement.

Sunday, even though they haven’t been at their best so far this season it’s hard to go against Ballygunner. There are so many top level forwards for Abbeyside to contain. Pauric Mahony caused a lot of trouble in 2018, mainly from the full forward line and he could well be the undoing of Abbeyside again tomorrow. Where Abbeyside deploy Prunty will be intriguing. They have some good defenders outside of him but I feel they might get caught out somewhere there. Conor Tobin coming in off the bench could have an influence also. For Abbeyside to have a chance they will need another huge game from Kiely, Beresford, Walsh and Treen. Whether they can reproduce against the calibre of defender the Gunners have will be intriguing. They will need Halloran to continue his fine form from frees and play also.

Hopefully it will be competitive. It would be great to see a new name on the cup, but I forsee 11 in a row.

I see Shane Sullivan suspension was lifted.. amazing what money can do..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,016 ✭✭✭DiscoStew

Darragh O’Sullivan’s red was overturned, for what that’s worth.

Shane’s was a one match ban I imagine, served against Passage in the semi.

Congrats to Roanmore on winning the County Junior A final

Kilrossanty will represent Waterford in the Munster Junior Championship as Roanmore are ineligible
