I'm worried we haven't had more outs, could be an issue with the crazy wages we have paid.

New stadium is the route I want us to go - but I can't see how we do a new stadium, or redevelopment, financially.

1 to 2 billion (or more), on top of the massive debts we have?

I always thought a new stadium would need to wait til the Glazers and the purchase debt were gone.

I can't see Ineos funding it out of their own coffers. Maybe do something similar to the 200m investment done so far where new shares were created in exchange for the investment, so their control increases in step with the funding?

I can't see how United could shoulder any more debt payments related to a new stadium, on top of what is already there tbh. Its not that I am crying out for INEOS to pay for a new stadium, I ahve no issue with United taking the debt in general for it - but I just can't see how it is affordable, on top of the 100m or whatever it is we waste every year on interest payments.

possibly they could setup a separate development company for building the stadium and redeveloping the land around it (including the current stadium site after the club moves) and United sign some sort of long term lease. The club would be a shareholder in this company - IDK, I'm not a billionaire property developer but I'm sure there are ways, particularly for a cash-cow like United.

Obviously the best solution would be for the city and UK govt to build a stadium and hand it over to us for peanuts

I know but they don't generate click bait and waffle like we do.

Why did the Munich defenders move to West Ham breakdown. Could it have been a fitness issue?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,182 ✭✭✭NITRO95

From what I recall it was either personal terms or agents fee couldn't be agreed. To me that's a convenient excuse for "I want to wait and see if anything happens with Utd first"

He's certainly an upgrade on AWB but that big if about fitness will be there.

According to the BBC report I read. West Ham had agreed the transfer fee and personal terms. But agent said he was due a whopper of a commission that West Ham though was OTT. Neither side budged in negotiations so West Ham pulled out.

Bit worrying that we've not shifted Casemiro, Erikson, WB, Lindelof, Sancho etc.

Especially if future purchases are dependent on getting rid.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,428 ✭✭✭Dwarf.Shortage

The noisy end of Twitter claiming AWB done deal for a fee that could rise to £20m with bonuses.

If Sancho is sold would you be happy with the wing options we have or would you hope United bring someone else in ?

    Rashford/ Garnacho

    Antony/ Amad

(Not including Pellistri as he's essentially gone also)

Unrealistic for this season but I'd have liked another winger like Olise that would give our forwards supply and contribute to the attack. I'm not a fan of Rashfords constant head down and shoot from everywhere wing play or lack of

I think added to the four you have listed, Zirkzee, Bruno, Mount and probably Rasmus are all options to play wide this season. It's definitely not their best positions but I think ultimately I think the options we have currently will be seen as enough especially as a third ST (Toney & DCL being the leading candidates) has been talked about much more than another wide forward

We need a LB and DM before we need another attacking player. Sancho's sale would fund Ugarte, while Lindelof or mcTom might fund Hancko or Kadioglu. Even if we get those sorted, we'd still need to bounce Antony or Cas before we get another striker in. That would be a sensational window if it happened.

Feels like there is a huge 2 weeks ahead for INEOS, to get some more pieces in place before the season starts.

IMO we need a few more signings - and it is kinda worrying that we are coming into August and, effectively, our midfield is worse than last season, and last season was terrible. Not arguing to bring Amrabat back to make it even… but I really did expect it to be an area of focus.

To be fair, they probably hoped that Saudi would come in for Casemiro, and if they did we'd be in a different situation now.

In an ideal world, i would love to see us bring in Ugarte and Foffana, with Eriksen and McTominay moved on (as I think the could have interest). AWB sold (with one year on his deal) and a RB brought in - looks like Mazraoui. Lindelof sold (one year on his deal) and a CB brought in. And that would still leave us short at LB.

In reality, I can't see us signing another CB, a RB and two CMs. One CM and a RB seems likely. I wonder if Yoro is going to be out for a couple of months or more (rumours) and if that heightens the need for a CM (De Ligt? - though I would consider De Ligh the wrong profile now)

Simon Stone confirming West Ham are in for AWB.

Aston Villa's star signing Amadou Onana has launched a music career just days after his move from Everton.

Glad we didn't sign him now, can't be having Lingard v2.

I think we will massively regret not singing Onana. Feels like a huge miss from the club.

Then we would have "The Onanas" 😁. And all the commentators would have to include the words "No Relation" as the two players interacted on the pitch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,791 ✭✭✭Iseedeadpixels

Don't worry Amrabat and Collyer will do the job 👀😂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,942 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

I'm gonna quote this, inevitably, in November.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,791 ✭✭✭Iseedeadpixels

Ah sure according to Romano we are working on a possible loan deal for Ugarte and fingers crossed Casemiro is sold and we get a 2nd DM in.

    Did anyone post this yet?

This was United View talking about the training session they watched the day before the Arsenal game. They said Yoro wasn't training and implied it was a "knock" and precautionary. They seemed convinced he wouldn't play against Arsenal.

Lo and behold, he plays and gets injured. I hope it's just a coincidence and not rushing him back.

Relevant piece is exactly 10 minutes in...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,942 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

Muppetiers reckon the injury he was taking caution with was groin, or similar, and nothing to do with the foot injury has seems to have picked up.

Everything I am hearing is that they are now being very cautious with player condition and fitness, trying to take no risks. So I think Yoro will have simply been bad luck/unfortunate rather than continued poor player management.

Yoro trained in the first or second session that day - he just wasn't in the open training. So he wasn't completed rested, just not on the full schedule.

Was about to post this, just listened to that podcast. Sounds like bad luck for Yoro but also seems United are being more cautious with niggles etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,689 ✭✭✭Cotts72

I think if we get Ugarte loan to buy that could really boost our further transfer dealings .

    Lindelof/AWB out - deligt/mazhroui in

If we can shift the majority of the players below we would be in a position to get Fofana or potentially Zubimendi. The fact that Fofana hasn't signed for Milan yet is interesting. Depending on the profile of LB we want we should be in a position to do that too but again all depends on clearing the deadwood

    Erikson/McT/Sancho/Pellistri/Hannibal/Casemeiro/Fish

I dread to think how bad last season would have been if they'd sold McTominay.

And Maguire as most including the manager wanted to.

I'd assume if they had been sold, it would have released funds to buy other players so we could have actually done better... but no way of knowing.
