L88 Enniskerry to CC, is that not an 88 ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,804 ✭✭✭✭LXFlyer

It is yes. It’s a radial route.

    It’s in the final phase.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 349 ✭✭GusherING

When will the O route kick in? Will it happen same time as the E Spine?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,804 ✭✭✭✭LXFlyer

We don’t know yet is the simple answer.

But it alone will require a lot of extra drivers and that’s challenging right now.

When is the 85 coming starting and is it replacing the 15B and is the A1 replacing the 15 and now will go to Beaumont instead of Clairehall?

Again, no one can give a timeline as it is resource dependent, but it won’t be this year.

At this stage it is likely to be late 2025 or early 2026.

You are correct about the changes.

It says on Neasa Hourigan's constituency letter that E spine and 19 route are planned to go live on September 26th.

She also says that the O orbital and N2 orbital are planned for November.

Is there any update on the W6 route, it all seems very quite around Hazelhatch Bridge, I'm not sure if the works are finished, or have even started!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,804 ✭✭✭✭LXFlyer

Last I saw was a councillor confirming that funds had been allocated for the works this year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,577 ✭✭✭VG31

I would be very surprised if the N2 launches separately to the E spine and 19. The 13 is being replaced in the next phase so there would a loss of service on Griffith Avenue if the N2 doesn't start at the same time.

The Green Party Cabra-Glasnevin candidate Feljin Jose (who was chair of the Dublin Commuter Coalition so probably knows what he's talking about) says that the N2 will start in September. He also states that the 19 will be every 10 minutes at peak times.

    https://feljin.ie/24hr-bus-for-glasnevin-and-phibsboro-busconnects-e-spine/

The Ballymun-Finglas councillor Keith Connolly also claims the E spine, 19 and N2 are due to start in Q3.

I was just coming on here to ask that very question. Anybody know? I know work was planned for Hazelhatch bridge and was due to commence earlier this year and that the W6, unless I dreamed all this, was due to be launched late Summer but nada since.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 412 ✭✭Reversal

According to local pols quoting the NTA, works have been "commencing in the coming weeks" for months now.

At the start of this year, some exploration holes were dug and vegetation trimmed back. Nothing since.

We are now 6 years on from when this route was first identified, and coming up on 2 years on from the specific issues relating to the bridge were raised publicly, and no work started yet.

It's only moving two traffic light poles and and painting new white lines. Such an embarrassment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 194 ✭✭Champagne Sally

Thank you for the update, it really is an embarrassment as you say! Would be such a great route, if only!!

I seen a bus stop platform recently built on Broombridge Road, near the Tolka Valley Park end. I assume this is to accommodate the N2. I had been hoping for an early launch.

I've written to Go Ahead Ireland and the NTA on 31/05/2024 asking for an update on the (W6) route and the proposed works at HH Bridge.

GA referred me to the NTA and so far I've received a holding e-mail from the NTA stating 15 working days for a response.

I'll update if i get any further info. but no clearer at the moment.

Email received from South Dublin Co Co this afternoon

"Thank you for contacting us for an update regarding the completion of the W62 route across Hazelhatch Bridge. We appreciate your patience and understanding. I am pleased to inform you that the NTA has confirmed that construction work will commence on Monday, June 24, 2024. The project is expected to be completed within approximately 12 weeks, barring any unforeseen circumstances."

Hopefully by end of September so!

So the 82 is only a stop gap at Kiltipper, so it will terminate at Killinardan, the locals will be happy.

The locals in Killinarden wanted the connection to the post office maintained!

Like anything though - that might change!

The 26/80 seems quite out of place in the F spine changes. You'd think they would have included that with the C spine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,804 ✭✭✭✭LXFlyer

It is replacing the 140 southside by extending south, hence it is in the F Spine phase.

Remember that this is resource driven and trying to ensure that no one loses out in terms of having a bus service in each phase.

Given that the 26 really didn’t change back when the C Spine launched, I guess they really didn’t want to change the number.

It’ll change further when it extends further south to replace the southern half of the 14. That can’t happen until the A Spine phase as it is intertwined with the other routes in Ballinteer.

Many thanks for all your hard work LXFlyer, I don't suppose you would like to estimate when the A spine will launch, or is that too far off?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,804 ✭✭✭✭LXFlyer

God knows, being honest about any of the phases.

It will all boil down to resources.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 249 ✭✭Stillnotworking

@LXFlyer Thanks for the update, is the F9 a night time variant of the F spine. I cant see it on the Busconnects Website. Thanks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 395 ✭✭TranslatorPS

The F9 is intended to be a uni-directional peak supplement, much like the H9 was meant to be but quickly enough disappeared as not worth the three duties sent to work it.

Anyone got any hot news about the E spine? The last news I heard several months ago was for it to go live in September which has come and gone.

They've made at least one minor road layout tweak near me a few months ago to facilitate the new 19 route.

It was meant to be starting on 24th November but is now 8th December according to a Wicklow councillor.
