Hi Lads. I am looking at these 2 crush gates which will be used for calves, cows and factory fit bullocks. Looking for feedback on either because i cannot decide which one to go for. Both can be supplied with front and rear handle to close gate on cow and both can have head scoop fitted. The main difference is that the teemore crush gate has a 3 piece cage on the front. Price wise there isn't a whole pile between them. See links below.

Folks, in relation to TAMS 3 items such as a meal bin for example, they don't need planning permission as long as they are exempt. Does that mean you need a letter of planning exemption from your local council for said item before applying for the grant?

how strict are they in relation to making a small start before the grant is approved, basically I just want to clear a bank of stuff and take away the walls of an open pit, 2 or 3 days machine work. Has anyone had issues with similar in the past

ah that’s grand so, won’t cost a fortune anyway to do this bit, thanks 👍

I got the same and emailed the email address in the letter and was sorted straight away. What’s your local office incase we’re the same and I can give you the email address? Otherwise I’d say ring the local office and ask for name and email of person over TAMS in the office.

    Hi all,

As regards making payment for a TAMS approved machine, does anyone know if you pay by credit card, will the Dept. be satisfied with the Credit Card statement or will they require the Current A/c statement that services the Credit card?

    Thanks....

In an inspection they will want to see the account is has been paid from. If you pay via credit card, I would assume you will have to show the statement and payment in full from current ac. Debit card would show on the current ac so no issue

I would presume that a CC account would be considered the same as borrowing the money. Critical part would be that CC is in the name of applicant or applicants

When submitting paperwork to receive TAMS payment on a tanker and shoeis it just the invoice, health and safety cert and your tax clearance cert that's needed?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,297 ✭✭✭mr.stonewall

Invoice marked as paid is important. Make sure the vat number is on it as DAFM will check to see has the company a tax clearance cert via e certs. It's pretty good to tell you what's missing before submitting

My issue is that the main farm c/a is a joint a/c with income/ expenditure from 2 herd numbers, has been like this for 20 years. AFAIK Dept won't allow this, as other farmers are involved.

Will have to get the thinking cap on!!!!

Start a separate c/a and trade separate or look at partnership for next year. Its messy otherwise. After that, a solution would be outside my knowledge

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 22,687 ✭✭✭✭Bass Reeves

If its a partnership there cannot be herd numbers from outside the partnership involved and all herd numbers from with in the partnershipmust be declared. As well all payments (Marts, Factory and department) must go into joint account. If not a penalty onnyou farm payment equivalent to tge sums paid into other accounts is applied against your farm payments

does anyone know how long it takes to get approved when the status says “Ready for pre approval”

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 22,687 ✭✭✭✭Bass Reeves

For the fencing grant lately it took a bit over two weeks. However a tuine harrow is waiting even though it was at pre approval before it but applied for at a later tranche. I know I could buy it as its mobile machinery

I hit the same stage this week on Tranche 3, they still have 2,500 left to complete on Tranche 2 then I believe Tranche 3 only had 3500 applications. My prediction is late July / August. This is also the stage where the queries come so that could delay things further

Payment for tranche 1 showing up in financial self services this morning, hopefully hit the bank account later today. Was a long auld wait for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,335 ✭✭✭lmk123

ok, hopefully only another 2 months so, it’s beyond me why they can’t do do something similar to the council with planning, I.e. you’ll have an answer one way or another within 10 weeks for example from time of submission, this guessing crack is just a joke. I know from speaking with other people that I’m actually in a fortunate situation because I only got in the last round so haven’t been waiting long at all really, some people waiting over a year for an answer. I suppose my approach would put too much pressure on the pencil pushers and make life too easy for the farmers.

I applied on April 10 for a grant for sheep equipment. I haven’t heard anything since. Is this the norm? It’s my first time applying. Thanks

is there tams on sprayers for dairy/beef farmers? Ie the average 400 litre sprayer

Is it covered below? And how is the reference cost calculated from the below?

ah missed that! The reference cost calculation looked too large scale for a farmer given the cost of the average 400/800l sprayer.
Not for me anyway. Neighbour was asking.

And it would have to be GPS section controlled, so that lands it in the realm of over 1000l min.

The jarmet style sprayers wouldn't even met the 1st part of that spec
