is there a press thing for the lineup, anyone in the know?

we've had early peeks in previous years before the official announcement

    I'm assuming a lunchtime announcement - 12/1ish?

Wonder will Andre 3000 appear on the bill?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,291 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

I've heard 2 and one of those I skipped after about 20 seconds, you'd have to worry about the future if that's what the kids are listening to.

Just went through about 96 posts there and still no announcement, haha and we're none the wiser.

Let’s have it right, the communication surrounding the whole thing has been a shambles. A week ago, some people (especially the Ireland is full bunch) didn’t even think it was on. Yet despite the rumours and all the confusion, not a word.

They haven’t told us what time the announcement is at and they didn’t tell us what time the extra tickets were going on sale at. This must be either an absolute stinker or a cracker of a lineup if they’re being so tight lipped about everything, doubt it’s somewhere in between.

They're still negotiating with The 2 Johnnies to get them on the bill ;)

Not a great sign that the last few tickets were released before the line up was announced

Not really, they had most tickets for 24 sold even before 23 happened, your statement make little sense.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,777 ✭✭✭endainoz

They always stay tight lipped about it, and they did insist it was happening despite the made up "cancelled" rumours. Not defending it of course, but FR have done it this way for some time.

I agree, I think its very unusual they way they operate but it's not much different than before/usual, besides the extremely delayed lineup. What is very unusual is there appears to be no press event, nor time of announcement. Every year there's a whole pre-hype thing on Today FM + other stations, outlets, etc. where as there is none of that today.

I would say it's probably just because supply was pretty limited. One way or the other, more people are likely to want to buy after the lineup is announced because it will suddenly start getting more press and social media attention. Easier to just sell the limited numbers off beforehand and not worry about overloading the website.

Forest Fest have announced more acts. Line up is shaping up nicely there. C'mon EP, get the finger out!

Gigs '24 - Ben Ottewell and Ian Ball (Gomez), The Jesus & Mary Chain, The Smashing Pumpkins/Weezer, Pearl Jam, Green Day, Stendhal Festival, Forest Fest, Electric Picnic, Pixies, Ride, Therapy?, Public Service Broadcasting, IDLES, And So I Watch You From Afar

Gigs '25 - Spiritualized, Supergrass, Stendhal Festival, Forest Fest, Queens of the Stone Age, Electric Picnic, Vantastival, Getdown Services, And So I Watch You From Afar

I'd love to see the crowd reaction to that, turning up expecting Hey Ya and being treated to a 90 minute improvised, jazz flute odyssey.
