Seemingly she was offered something close to that but no good. This suggests the whole thing was designed to get horner out and money was never going to make her (them) go away.

Alot more going on,we wouldn't all have seen private WhatsApp with one side of the conversation so obviously deleted at times, there was a strategy at play.

No-one forced Horner to sexually harass his PA. Conspiracies and/or destabilising tactics are irrelevant. Maybe others opened the door but Horner walked through it. This is why its not going away.

I can see him going to Audi maybe, or red bull might go after him

that would be interesting to see Alonso in the RB .But I’m not sure how Max would take it

Major tinfoil hat, but, if it is Jos that's behind all the leaks trying to get Horner out, Horner could go and sign the likes of Alonso in an attempt to upset Max and get him to leave. Like I said, major tin foil hat and I don't think it'll happen

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 11,485 Mod ✭✭✭✭Andrew76

I don’t think it would bother Max at all if Alonso replaced Perez, he’d have Fernando’s number too. Horner wouldn’t sign him though I don’t think, not if Perez can keep close enough to Max and keep getting podiums.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,868 ✭✭✭bennyx_o

I don't think it would bother Max either tbh, I think he'd relish it and likely comfortably beat Alonso, but it'd be interesting to see. I think it's much more likely Checo will likely stay on at Red Bull

I assume by RB in the last few posts you mean red bull and not the Laser Card Revolut RB team?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 11,485 Mod ✭✭✭✭Andrew76

Yep, RBR to be exact I guess. Not the VISA Cashback Centrally Regulated RB team that Yuki and Danny drive for. 😁

Perez is doing enough so far to keep his seat for next year. Red Bull don't really need to bring a Sainz or Alonso next season.

Alonso is probably best placed to stay at Aston Martin and do another two years. They will have Honda engines and new rules for 2026.

Mercedes look to be going backwards, not forwards. Sainz has a tough decision to make for next year and onwards.

I just hope that Carlos ends up in the best team and car he can for next year. I would love to see him beating the Ferraris in a different team next year be it with Aston Martin or Mercedes or Red Bull. However if Sergio keeps up his current form he will still be at Red Bull next year but I think Red Bull will just sign a 1 year contract with him to keep the pressure on and the door open in case Sergio loses form and they have a better option.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Would going to audi be the right decision, where do see audi in the constructors? I think myself they'd be midfield for a couple of seasons anyway, I just don't see them taking over and hitting the ground running. Sainz probably best shout is Merc which I'd assume won't make a balls of the 2026 regs or RB if Checo goes but you've also the risk of them getting the powerunits wrong. RB will prioritise the driver leading the championship, it's probably Sainz best shot at being a world champion

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭MadYaker

Yeah, if Perez can secure P2 in the drivers championship I don't think it would make sense to replace him with a faster driver, only going to cause problems.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,990 ✭✭✭✭mickdw

I think Aston are on a push to the top and could be a great seat for Sainz. Great chance to outright lead a big team as Alonso will either move on or retire in the not too distant future surely.

Alonso and Sainz at Aston Martin with Russell and Vettel at Mercedes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,499 ✭✭✭✭dulpit

Vettel won't be back. Kimi Antonelli is the likely driver for Mercedes. I like the Alonso/Sainz pairing, that'd be fun to see.

    But did he?
I don't get the hatred for Christian and Red Bull.!
Well, I kind of do get the way people despise a soft drinks company whooping the asses off supercar manufacturers and all that, but hey, that's what the sport is all about.
But this thing with Christian, nobody outside the "case" has a clue what happened or did not happen to be fair.

    Have you seen the WhatsApps?

If they are fake why hasn't Horner / Red Bull stated as much?

It looks like they cant as they are legit so it's "no comment" until it all blows over.

If they are real then I think most would say its sexual harassment by someone in a position of power regardless of any plots to get Horner sacked.

I dont hate Red Bull / Horner. I do think its an interesting case of circling the wagons to protect the person who is more important to the organisation.

Lots of "If's" and "Buts" there in your reply which is exactly my point.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,499 ✭✭✭✭dulpit

The power he has in his team means that any relationship like the messages purport to show are problematic.

Red Bull closing ranks and running what seems to be a sham internal investigation adds fuel to the fire. If they were open and transparent about the whole situation it would be treated differently.

I don't think it was a shame investigation. I feel the truth came out within that investigation and redbull realised that much of what took place was dirty dealing to destroy horner.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,235 ✭✭✭EltonJohn69

Goodnight Hamilton. Its over. You. Are. Finished.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,635 ✭✭✭✭El_Duderino 09

You don't have any evidence that it was a clean investigation or a whitewash. They decided to keep it completely to themselves. If you make a decision on whether the investigation is good or not, is an act of faith. It can't be based on evidence because Red Bull decided not to publish the information necessary to reach a conclusion.

For example, you don't even know what question the investigation was trying to answer.

Privacy didnt seem to be an issue when Red Bull were able to call Hewitson dishonest and the most they could say regarding the WhatsApps was "some of them start with a lower case letter - oooh very suspicious" but they wouldnt state if they were legitimate or not. Why?

This seems to be the question no-one wants to engage with. I think we know why.

Instead we have: there were dirty dealings / the independent investigation that has to be kept private due to privacy laws (Red Bull double standard when it suits them as already been shown above) cleared him / she knew what she was doing / Jos was involved / power struggle etc. etc.

Horner sexually harassed a direct employee he had authority over. His position would be untenable in any other organisation but not in F1 it seems.

Neither do you. I'm giving an opinion and you have yours but I was expecting your response because for whatever reason, you cannot appear to handle discussion on this topic without wanting to immediately win out.

Every time I comment on this topic, you jump all over it. When I initially said there is more to the story than Horner and an assistant, you badgered me to come up with facts or to shut up basically.

I think at this stage all should agree that clearly there is more to the story but you appear to have an unhealthy interest in proving horner the bad guy here.

He must have stolen your girlfriend or something cause you are doing everything in your power here to claim that he should be gone.

It's comical at this stage and as such I could nearly have written your response in advance.
