Had a stroll between the Leixlip stations today .No doubt it’s a game changer for ‘wheeled conveyances ‘ .Maybe was just feeling a bit negative but couldn’t help wonder how the increased ease of access ( and speedy egress?!) might encourage ‘anti social behaviour ‘ .I cast aside my negative vibes .Half an hour later I saw two youths haring through St Catherine’s Park helmetless on a large scooter ( ‘Burgman ‘ style ?) This was before 1030am !Hopefully we don’t see previously tranquil parts of this route become problematic .

Maybe we need some kissing gates. That'll solve the problem.

Never done the deep siding in winter. However last time I did it on folding bike which wasn't ideal.

Nothing happening on this section, and if the Kildare section is anything to go by it will be another year to 18 months before anything is completed.

It's an old argument on this thread. But I think (for the deep sinking) they could have got a less antagonistic proposal across the line as a version 1.0 and expanded on it later. Instead they went for a over engineed proposal with all the bells and ribbons. Almost designed to annoy people.

I think they'll be arguing over it for years.

You'd think on the existing path you could cut the roots and overgrowth back a little and improve the existing path enormously. That would do while they argue about the other side. But no.

Anyway it's only a short diversion around it on the road.

On the Maynooth to Drumcondra train yesterday and noticed very little work on the greenway between Maynooth and Leixlip. The area between Confey and Louisa Bridge is completed but the rest of the tow path remains the same, aside from a little section adjacent to Intel.

Very disappointing as I believe the plan was for it to be completed this summer.
