For any parents, it's absolutely incredible. Obviously if you have the luxury of a game room or whatever its not needed but it's great being able to sit with the family while they're watching/reading and still be able to game.

Currently playing star wars jedi survivor on it which is a pretty fast paced game and it's near perfect, ever so slight micro stutters every now and then but remote play will never be as good as playing locally on the PS5, very happy with it.

If they unlocked media viewing on it and added cloud gaming then it would be a great bit of kit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,666 ✭✭✭BlakeS94

Yeah maybe they could sort that with software updates in the future.

Media viewing is odd thing to block. You can turn on netflix etc but a second after it starts they purposely block the screen.

I can't see what the issue is with watching it on TV or on the portal screen.

Was mentioned on Reddit that Game could be back in ROI soon enough, using old 'Sports Direct' premises.

I drove to blanchardstown yesterday looking for one there were 15 when I left -5 when I got there. However there were none on stock as they said the website was behind. Madness they aren't doing click and collect. Was able to order one in currys for collection next week

Got home last night started up the portal and then realised the Sky Broadband was down in the city. So no portal for me in the next while. A cruel irony.

Snagged one through Currys on Friday, they were more expensive and have to pay for shipping, but delighted to have secured it.

Happened to be in town in Galway on Saturday, literally right next to Smyths when I see the 15 in stock, a little annoyed that I could have gotten it cheaper and had it immediately but laughed it off.

Saturday evening then I get an email from Currys saying that its actually out of stock and they hope to have stock later this week, gave the option to request a refund if I didnt want to wait.

Raging! I'd have picked it up in Smyths and refunded if they'd have emailed a few hours earlier. I hope I get it this side of Xmas...

Wonder what the chances are of Currys stores having them in stock in store but just not showing online? Desperate to get it as a present for someone and was close to pay €400 from some Adverts scalper but will hold off!

Better off to wait rather than potentially getting hassle off customs.

Back in stock in Cork Kinsale rd.. such a nuts system

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,931 ✭✭✭Doodah7

Terrible suggestion. You will end up paying 23% VAT on top of the VAT already paid and pay An Post Addresspal charges.

Anyone else having issues with lagging? Sky is my ISP, with 200+ download and TP link connected to my PS5. Portal states download is only 8mb and display is blurred because of this and impossible to attempt to play game of FIFA etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,140 ✭✭✭feargantae

Tried ringing them and it's just a national call centre. They said they can't check store stock so best to just go in and ask!

What a hassle. I miss gamestop lol

I just pre-ordered in Currys Fonthill in Dublin. I had to pay upfront. Said they are due in on the 19th December, but hopefully earlier. She said she had 9 left when I ordered!

Didn't know you'd end up paying that much, thanks for pointing out my terrible suggestion

I tried Currys in Carlow and they said they don't know when it's coming in, they haven't seen any in deliveries and ye can't pre-order! He couldn't say if stock was coming tomorrow, next week or next month! Very frustrating.

You'd think Currys would have their staff all on the same page with this stuff given the popularity like

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 187 ✭✭Littleredcar

I only chanced my arm asking they knew I had been to smyths . He took orders from 4 others . Keep your eye out on 18th get in early if you can

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,602 ✭✭✭Grumpypants

I think you need around 15mb to get a nice picture quality.

Is it TP link power plug system that goes through the power wiring?

If you can upgrade to a WiFi mesh it will make a huge difference. I've Amazon's eero and get 150mb across the house on WiFi.

My courier left my Smyth's pre-order at the front door while I was out, wasn't there when I got back, I mailed DPD and Smyth's and Smyth's sent me back a picture of it at the front door, no neighbours have it, so to say I'm pissed off is an understatement

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,737 ✭✭✭RocketRaccoon

Dpd driver is going to enjoy it, fed up hearing stories like this and there never seems to be any comeback on them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,959 ✭✭✭Jesus Shaves

Smyth's have passed I to onto their Fraud team which will take 10 days, then the portal will be blocked by Sony apparently, no good to me still waiting
