In my day job, I'm the GM at Nevo and we're hosting Ireland's 1st Electric Vehicle Show in partnership with Bank of Ireland. RDS, February 17th 2024.

Tickets are free, you just need to register on the link below.

We've nearly 25 brands on board with almost 50 EVs on show. There'll also be a stage with sessions throughout the day.

Maybe try and cover something on battery degradation on used EV’s like the Aviloo test and other alternatives if they exist ? It seems to be a concern with both trade and private buyers.

Commercial vehicles. How could we begin to replace our 30+ diesel Renault Masters/Ford transits service vehicles that can do up to 60k KMs a year and not all of it scheduled. We've replaced all the staff and management cars with EVs but can't get our head around how we'd begin to do it with vans.

that’s. A big issue, so someone from. SEAI, RTB, ZLEV ( or whatever the new government body is) explaining the guidelines and how to go about getting chargers installed in MUD…

also maybe a explanation on what NEVO is

we know you do reviews. But how do generate review? Do you offer a service or just revenue from reviews

Thanks Ted1. Yes ZEVI and SEAI will be giving talks throughout the day regarding the apartment ev charger scheme.

Regarding Nevo, we have a couple of different parts.

Youtube Channel is 100% impartial Electric Vehicle Reviews. Starting to do some sponsored content like the EV charger series. I've yet to be paid to review or overview an EV so it has been my honest opinion since I started it back in 2020.

B2C website launched in Aug 2022 is a dedicated EV platform with an education section, comparison tool, and journey planner. We also connect buyers who want to test-drive EVs with dealerships. Revenue is via our partners and advertisers.

B2B Advisory service is helping organisations transition their fleet to electric, getting the data and understanding the current fleet, picking the right vehicles if business viable, driver education on how to drive EVs, how and where to charge a fleet along with energy generation and storage.

Yes exactly. Am I right in saying there are two types of Litium batteries one that you should not charge too much as every time you charge it is basically a cycle and shortens the amount of tines left to charge it so your better to let it go lower and fully charge it and another LFP I think it might be where you can charge at any stage and it makes no difference to its life cycle.

All batteries have a cycle count. Some are better than others. The LFP in teslas current RWD line up is one, BYD also, that don’t suffer from the cycle count as much, but, they are less dense and can’t give the performance as other variants. That may change in the future though. They also have worse cold weather performance, so there’s trade offs to both.

The future of car servicing in Ireland- what new skills are required and what are the plans to get there to ensure people who buy either new or second hand EVs do so with comfort of knowing if something goes wrong that they can be fixed without fuss, similar to their current ICE cars.

In other words, might servicing EVs be problematic in the short term?

I think government subsidies and not only what is done today, but grants in the past, grant changes such as no more toll road discount and possible future changes. How is the government supporting public charger rollout or not, where would grant money best go, how much is funding today etc. There seems to be little government action on public charging in the past few years.

BYD Seal has been for sale for near on 3 months in the garages in Dublin. The first deliveries are due to customers in January.

€46k for RWD.

€52k for AWD.

So it will be just as easy to get to one of their showrooms and sit in one and actually drive their demo.
