I want them gone because they deliberately stoked and encouraged that riot last week. They put many many lives in danger.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Not everything is a conspiracy. Following due process in an ongoing investigation is important. Justice will be served.

Nobody can stop a family talking to the press. They can be advised that it wouldn't be in their best interests but that's it. We are not living in Russia.

    No they didn't,

The moment that animal attacked those little children there was always going to be trouble especially in the city centre

Of course he's in garda custody. You think he can discharge himself and go home when he gets better? lol

Indeed, and if Gript accepted responsibility and showed that they were putting process in place to mitigate against it happening again, then it might even show them to be an emerging player in respectable media.

But instead they’ve predictably played the conspiracy card, highlighting their true nature.

Absolutely, as is their prerogative, but if you believe there's some massive conspiracy and not that their still processing their shock a week after their child had a knife stuck into her you should probably have a long conversation with a trained professional, preferably while restrained.

They absolutely did. The riots in the city didn't happen out of nowhere. There was deliberate online stoking and inciting. Gript are scum of the earth endangering people in this country.

He can’t go anywhere because he’s not in a state to leave the hospital. He’s not under arrest at present but by the time he is well enough to leave he will be.

Nice of you to ignore everything else I said though. Are you going to concede you were wrong regarding the ages and status of victims?

are you going to explain exactly why you feel that you have a right to their identity?

I’m sure you just forgot to mention those things so I’ll await your further response.

Gript is a source of DISINFORMATION.

Misinformation is information which doesn't set out to misinform.

Disinformation is deliberate false information. Deliberate fake news. Propaganda. Lies.

That's what Gript is a source of.

Yeah because there's never been a conspiracy anywhere ever in this country concerning the establishment within the last 15 years, ami right?

Maurice McCabe, he should have just gone over to the conspiracy theories forum up in here and solely let fly there I suppose?

    Fact:

John McGuirk was universally known as "Johnny Arse" at school, which was The Sem in Monaghan.

Once an arse, always an arse.

McGuirk knows his readership will lap up the conspiracy angle.

Just looking at gript.ie site, the culture section is gas. They seem to have given up on the lifestyle section which is a shame.

You seem to have a poor grasp of what’s going on

The suspect is 100% not in Garda custody. The Gardai are waiting for him to be deemed medically fit while he’s under medical care before they arrest and question him.

If he were to discharge himself, then he would be refusing medical care, in which case he’d have no recourse to claim that he’s not medically fit, and he would be instantly arrested.

The link between McGuirk and Fine Gael isn't surprising either. It also not surprising that given FG are pushing hard to water down defamation laws and remove accountability around journalists that the likes of gript feel they can donwhat they want. There could be a lot more incidents like the above if FG get their way.

Some scandal If this is proven - that Gript were deliberately misinformed.

All I can say is, after many decades of the cosy arrangements with RTÉ, it’s clear politicians HATE dealing with the Gript journalists asking awkward questions.

Some of the interviews are comical.

That Heather Humphreys one comes to mind, it’s like a sitcom, the panicked look on her mug, she is so inept.

McGuirk has a track record for this stuff.

Anyone remember the fake nurse during the abortion referendum?

Gript must surely be aware that their articles keep being used by the Irish far right (not an 'imaginary' one - the actual far right) to promote their talking points. One wonders how comfortable they are with that.

A poor grasp would be the nicest way to put it.. they seem to think they’re entitled to round the clock updates on all involved including a young child.

I personally think it’s a disgrace we don’t even know what she’s asking Santa for this year. What’s her favourite dinner? Like, how are the media in this country so CORRUPT we don’t know the entire personal history of a 5 year old? It’s all a sham.

How did they deliberately stoke and encourage a riot?

We need more politicians to tell us how horrible we are!!! The Bishops and the Clergy didn't do a good enough job clearly!!

It's probably worth pointing out, that Irish working men probably receive the smallest share of the tax take, in fact, the taxes that Irish men pay goes to fund a load of NGO's who have successfully managed to create the above mess....

The Government is right to try and shut this thing down, and control our speech, they are after all, clearly, our betters!!

And the people that were quoting that story as fact and were using it to whip people up last week...

    And then what?

Why do you have a need for the families to fill you in on what's happening.

What do you suggest happens this man when his name is published?

"One wonders how comfortable they are with that."

Very comfortable. It's their entire reason for existence.

I had never really heard of the Gript before this week but I heard the owner on an interview this week and I liked the cut if his jib. RTE are far too cleansed for my liking these days.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

So are you saying they have to, or rather you and others would like them to?

They are entitled to their privacy especially with what they are going through.

Not everybody wants to be the subject of dicussion and in the spotlight, open to gossips and trolls who frequent the news rags and social media sites that thrive on clickbait.

We all hope that they will recover, lets leave it at that maybe.
