Not that anyone is too bother but figured out what was wrong with my dvbt side of the box. My aerial in the attic had fallen into a vertical position rather than horizontal. Strange my sony tv had no issue but the zgemma did.

2 year warranty on Zgemma H7s.

Power off box switch cables over and see if fault has moved . Also check F connectors are good and centre core is not touching braiding.

Also tuners can be checked in signal quality .

I had two of them die on me just out of warranty , both bought from World Of Satellite in the UK anyways, so would have been a costly nightmare in custom handling charges to return them post Brexit.

Zgemma is not the best out there , its just the cheapest , there are far better boxes from " Gigablue" and "VU+"

They do the same job picture and sound wise , they are just better built with better quality components properly rated for the job and are likely to last longer.

    https://www.vuplus.de/en/duo-4k-se

When buying , watch your configuration , most in Ireland want 1 DVB T tuner for Saorview , and Dual DVBS tuners for Satellite ..... you may already have a suitable hard drive so can drop that option , etc.

Prices vary wildly depending on configuration , I got a Vu+ Duo 4K SE for 349 with DVBT x 2 and FBC dual tuners , no hard drive. The hard drive goes into a well built pull out caddy at the rear of the box. Very nice , built like a tank , and cost less than the 2 Zgemmas I had that in comparison were very shoddily made and both died with almost all capacitors inside swollen to bursting point .... a sign of cheap chinese manufacturing.

Hi all, got a brand new Gemma H7. It came with free satellite channels installed, after trying everything I cannot get any Irish channels. I looked at settings and see it is set to Saorview, the region was sent to Dublin, so, since I'm in Laois I tried changing it to Mount Lenister, Also I plugged it directly into my router but can't get the network to co-operate.

Thinking that while unplugging my old box I had yanked the Ariel plug too hard, but plugging it back into my old box rte comes in just fine. Any ideas would be much appreciated

    Hello,

Finally some Irish channels came in. Thanks so much. How does one set up a favorites list and incorporate the Irish channels with the Satellite? As I said before there used to be FTA on the menu and it showed all terrestrial.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,830 ✭✭✭swoofer

The channels came in when you configured the tuner correctly. And you should get all the SAORVIEW channels, did you use Kilduff??

do the skin bit so i know more about box, post 1667

    slow down😂

You mentioned, saorview, network, FTA, favourites lists, incorporate the channels, there used to be FTA. THATS TOO MUCH to solve in one go.

And the bit that surprised me is that you said it showed all TERRESTIAL but tuner was not setup correctly!!

Just to add its a ZGEMMA H7S and I have one but if you give me the info I need I can sort you in minutes. Im watching footie at same time.

Lol, sorry man. Ok, so yes Irish channels are working but I can't see them in the epg along with Satellite.

    IMG_20231111_131119.jpg IMG_20231111_130944.jpg

When I scroll up and down it's all Satellite, and if I change to a Satellite channel there is now way to find a terrestrial channel again.

Yes I had set it to Kilduff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,830 ✭✭✭swoofer

now that is a lot better, im being interrupted so bear with me, the image is OPENVIX and very OLD the skin is BLUE HD, to get them ins same epg is tricky. when you press TV button or FAV does saorview appear and did you run autobouqets yourself? dont do anything yet just reply.

do a pic when you press tv/fav buttons

.OK so either button brings up last scanned and if you scroll up or down you can see the other Bouquets. I didn't set up the bouquets myself the box came setup with the satalite channels installed etc.

that looks like the favourites tab but it is soarview and you did not put them there.

do this, select a channel say rte one, press ok, then press blue butoon and then at top of screen you should see all channels listing or last scanned arrow to all channels and press ok to open it, i know its tedious

    but helps lot.
