Wood gets Khawaja…. That was a fine yorker…. Can England get one or two more and really turn it into their morning ? 56 minutes to lunch, so it’s possible.

Wouldn't like to have tickets for day 5

Another dropped catch for Bairstow but lucky for him Smith out now. England well on top the usual caveat of seeing both teams bat will apply.

Bairstow just can't wicket keep. my god. Surely there is a better wicket keeper in england.

We’ll find out. Foakes is the likely with Jos in the frame too. But that’s a pretty dreadful morning from him. An absolute dolly of a catch put down…did he drop two ?

10, 16, 78 & 20 with the bat so far in this series. So you’d have to say he’s in a bit of danger of getting dropped now himself considering his batting isn’t great… needs to keep reliably but he has been poor with the gloves all series. First or second test he dropped 3 in one innings I remember.

Looks to be carrying a bit of extra weight too ?

unless he’s contributing a score or two with the bat and keeping impeccably for the remainder of the test…..he could be done…

Probably a few years ago Smith gets done under law 42 level 1 dissent for his reaction to being correctly given out…

“An action or actions by a player or players which clearly demonstrates to observers (other players, spectators, etc) that the umpire has, in the player’s view, made a mistake, Raising or waving of the bat to suggest contact with the ball.. Indicating a contact point on the body or equipment…”

Another drop, Root, a dolly, come on 😟 fûck thats a regulation catch.

Root drops Marsh...3rd dropped catch today.

For a guy who hasn't played test cricket in 3 years, Marsh is doing well here (I've probably jinxed him!!) Australia responding well here, but long way to go for them.

Very rocky start for sure, recovering now with a century partnership. Bowling looking less threatening, but only couple of wickets till towards the tail.

Englands morning but Australia all over the English in the afternoon …just two slips now.

Moeen looks as about as effective as a tractor in an F1 race.

Some innings by Marsh, Australia move beyond 200! Robinson off the pitch too with some kind of injury.

In other news Scotland lost out again on the World Cup, I thought they were a certainty at one point in that innings but Netherlands really pulled it out of the fire.

Century for Marsh, he's looked vulnerable at times but since he was dropped he's really hurt England!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,765 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Wonder what’s wrong with Robinson ? Been off the field for a while now. Worrying when he couldn’t compete his over. Signifies something likely worse then a twinge.

Australia scoring efficiently and effectively now…, Marsh with 4 sixes and 15 fours… 96.40 strike rate…

after the great England start it’s all Australia.

Marsh played a great innings, just out for 118 at a run a ball 240/5, Carey next in with a Yorkshire welcome waiting for him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,872 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

Marsh gone for an excellent 118 at a run a ball

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

    Ankle injury.

If he is unable to bowl, stokes apparently won't bowl and Wood will be used sparingly. Moeen will have to bowl a lot on a pitch that doesn't look suited to him.

Omitting Tongue looks a bit risky if Robinson was carrying that injury into the game

For all the talk of Headingly being a cauldron, the crowd have been placid enough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,395 ✭✭✭✭Furze99

Perfect innings for a No6, pity those above him hadn't put on a few more. All up in the air very much but somehow or other can't see this one lasting 5 days unless rain delayed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

Yorkshire fans know their cricket. Boo etc but nothing nasty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 627 ✭✭✭dohboy

"Stand up if you hate Carey" suggests otherwise lol. At least they've found their voice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,765 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Roots reaction 😂. Don’t often see that… Good delivery uniform catch.

    that’s a big wicket…into the tail… …. …

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,765 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

That delivery would bowl better batsmen then Starc… 249/7… it’s swinging !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,872 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

    240 for 4 to 250 for 7.

Reckon they lost focus watching march smash it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,872 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

Make that for 8. 4 wickets for 9 runs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,395 ✭✭✭✭Furze99

What Aussies do now, have a thrash and ride their luck or get out and have a crack at the English top order, while the day is still there? Cummins gone, question answered?
