Ultra is nearly here; mails will go out starting tomorrow in the usual secret logic for waitlists (I guess the more friends you have referred the better your chances).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,385 ✭✭✭Yggr of Asgard

Ultra seems to be 55€ a month (for the first 3 month some users will get it for 50€) or 545€ for the year.

    Benefits

    • You get a special platinum-plated card (one)
    • Unlimited airport lounge access in 1400 airport globally via DragonPass
    • 100% discount on international transfers
    • Up to 5,000€ tip, accommodation, event cancellation reimbursement for non-refundable booking. There are extensive T&C and it looks like a 30% co-payment.
    • Access to partnerships (see below)
    • 24/7 callback service (i.e. a CSR will call you if you have problems with Revolut card/app), english only

Cashback is 5% in the first month only if you were on the waiting list, then it's 0.1% for EU based spending and 1% on international spendings. Monthly cashback is limited to the amount of you monthly plan fee (55€ or 45€). Non waiting lists customers do not get the 5%.

    Partnerships at launch are

    • Freeletics Training coach subscriptions
    • Nord VPN Complete subscription
    • Sleep Cycle Premium
    • Picsart Gold subscription
    • Financial Times "premium digital" subscription
    • WeWork Pass 3 per month
    • Tinder Gold
    • ClassPass 20 ClassPass Credit per month

This is correct at this point, more details should appear in app via the FAQ section for plans shortly.

€55 a month ?!? How many people would pay that I wonder?

Anyone know if a joint account gets access to the Tinder gold benefit :)

If you are a frequent traveler than the lounge access, the we work and the non-refundable cancelation cover might actualy justify it.

    €55?? Jaysus!

Also if the cashback on Ultra is also 0.1% I hope that means they won't nuke the cashback on Metal!

How long does it take to transfer some money from a credit union to a revolut account?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,623 ✭✭✭SourSessions

Same as to any other SEPA bank account. Hours-overnight depending on what time you sent it. If you have a CU current account you can top up instantly with the card

Interchange fees usually fund these cashback offers. EU has mandated a 0.3%-0.4% interchange fee for Europe so that’s why it’s so poor even for ultra. Internationally it’s a bit different, but still only like 2%~ depending on the country

FT Premium Digital sub is €65/month by itself, so not bad...

Has anyone gotten anywhere with the Financial Services Ombudsman on the AIB Visa transfer issue?

Does anyone else repeatedly get asked for a selfie and forced passcode reset when logging into the app? I got a new phone (a few months ago at this point) and yes I did the selfie the first time. Now though, at random intervals, it asks me for a selfie again and even forces me to change my passcode. It's for no reason that I can think of.

I got a new phone recently and the problem I'm having is when I top up my Revolut account it takes hours to transfer but before it topped up instantly. Maybe it was just a glitch before?

Are you definitely trying to top up by card and not bank transfer? My mom got caught that way. The AIB logo came up and didn't realize it was different.

When I try and top up it confirms my bank pin and then a blank screen so dosen't work that way.

I admit I'm not very techy but this type of bank transfer is the only way I can do it.

Anyone know if you can split a bill from a joint account?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 13,566 ✭✭✭✭the_amazing_raisin

Nope, can't spilt bills. The joint account is actually fairly basic compared to the current account, no split bills or analytics

Thanks thought that might be the case. A bit strange it's not just the same as a sole account but oh well.

Yeah tbh me and the missus have just been using the joint account for bills and groceries, any luxury or unexpected spending we pay ourselves and do a split bill.

Just seems handier that way as we avoid topping up the joint account when something comes up

Yup we're the same, works ok that way actually, was just wondering.

Yeah sounds like you're doing a bank transfer instead of topping up by card.

You should have 3 sections on the top up screen.

    - Linked Accounts

This is a bank transfer. It gets transferred via SEPA which can take up to next business day, but usually executes in 2-4 hours ish, depending on the time you did the transfer. If the Irish banks ever get around to supporting SEPA Instant, this will then take seconds (Revolut supports SEPA Instant already).

As this has your bank logo and current account number listed, it's easy to think that it's the best option to do.

    - Linked Cards

This is topping up via Debit/Credit card. You will need to confirm your CVV and probably approve it in your banking app/via SMS, depending on your bank's fraud rules. This is instant.

    - Other

This has loan and Google/Apply Pay. Using Google or Apple pay is also instant. I prefer this method as it doesn't need me to approve the card transaction in the AIB app, and I don't need to enter the CVV.

Apologies if this is a stupid newbie question, but when I click on Credit Card to apply for one, it just says it can't be done at this time. Any ideas how to move this forward? Do I need to be a member for a certain amount of time, or what criteria do I need to meet?

    Thanks!

Yep I did twice and they say that they can't give ETAs on when it will be done for me.

Email says approximately 2 months so hopefully comes soon

I wish to receive a payment from Ireland to my Revolut account.

They are asking for bank address, swift code/bic and sort code. Any idea what to write in these categories? I have all the other details.

    Thanks

From another Irish (or anywhere in the SEPA Area) account you should only need your IBAN, but the details are below:

    Address:

Revolut Bank UAB (Irish Branch), 2 Dublin Landings, North Dock, Dublin 1, Ireland

    SWIFT/BIC:

REVOIE23 (this is in your app under the IBAN)

    Sort code:

990360 (first 6 digits after the 4 letters in your IBAN)

In my joint account the recurring payments section has gone? When I try to set one up I can make a a one off payment but the little clock symbol doesn't appear?

Works on my sole account but not joint?

    Anyone else?

Is account number the last 8 digits from the IBAN?

By convention it should be, but not necessarily I have seen situations where it is very different.

Apologies if this has been covered already, do we HAVE to provide Revolut a PPS number? Threatening disruption to service if not provided.
