Don't see how being new is relevant. Can you answer the question?

So, you agree with all the other massive differences? Good man, knew you’d see sense.

As for your counter to the second massive difference, I think we can all agreee we’re lucky not to have you planning the offensive.

There's a long list of them in the first post of the thread.

Seriously you have no idea what your actually on about,

"Second massive difference is that Ukraine won’t be crossing fields like it’s WW1 as the Russians were"

If you really understand what you posted you would already understand

This is very interesting if true ,

It's been claimed a Russian cruise missile flew across ukraine and landed in Poland 5 months ago and the missles was only recently discovered in a Polish Forrest,

    Wishful thinking.

The last then one of Russians missiles ended up in Poland NATO wet the bed and told Zelensky to keep quiet or risk losing support.

If I were to play a little 4D Chess with the situation (or even pretend to know enough to play the traditional varient of the game), I might be of the mind that the US & NATO intelligence organisations would discourage Dublin from doing anything about Russia’s spy base and leave them thinking it’s safe there.

Then ring the place with their own agencies to mine Orwell Rd. for data & useful faces that enter and leave the place.

Sceptical of what? Im aware of all the bulletin points above. I simply asked you if you could name names.

Here's your quote: "I would not be surprised in the slightest either that some of his employers are regulars on this very thread"

You are inferring the Russian embassy have employees posting on Boards on this thread no? Can you name names, yes or no? I'm genuinely interested to see what you think.

It’s within Moscow’s interests to get Western people to adopt a pro-Kremlin stance with Ukraine and information warfare is typically part of their attempt to reach that objective. The embassy on Orwell Rd. has this goal as well, which is typical of any embassy, but there are few ways for the Russians to do this without resorting to blatant lies. This is when posts that are clearly designed to be propaganda are detected.

Orwell Rd likely have staff assigned to strategy for this, but I suspect that the actual posters are in Russia proper and are likely low-level plebs which enough functional English to know what to copy/paste in response to challenges. We’ll occasionally get better capable posters who might actually be from the embassy or simply just better at English.

The overriding point is that the Russian government (and Orwell Rd. as part of said government) are engaged with spamming forums like this one with talking points designed to vilify Ukraine and somehow excuse Russia for engaging in a war of aggression. The list of the posters who have been trying this is long and goes beyond the many bots and re-reg trolls that the mods have been so diligent in removing.

Alas I fear that this something that will be a challenge for a long time to come.

Thanks for that. I'm in absolutely no doubt Moscow have posters on various social media sites setting agendas maybe even on here that's why i was interested in correct horse batteries response to who it may be. An allegation was made just looking for an answer as ive read through a decent amount of the thread today and i can't seem to locate any obvious Russian propaganda.

So like you to run away from a post and not answer the detail. It’s okay, we’re used to it now.

Ukraine defense minister thinks it is a problem, Ukraine's great supporters in the Balkans think it is a problem.

Estonian Defense said recently that European shell production needs to be multiplied by 7.

Reznikov, the Ukrainian Defense minister said they need at least 3 million shells a year.

He might not have the full details like yourself but his opinion deserves some consideration at least.

What Russia does is Russia's concern, Western Europe could produce more shells than the rest of the world if the will was there, it is not. Not even close.

The fighting from here on in will be much harder for Ukraine. Going in to red occupied land, where they have months of fortifying.

Is it you think they don't deserve the ammunition, or that their Defense Minister is wrong in what he is asking for?

Germany and France are limiting supplies so as to bring forward a stalemate, talks, defacto new border and a return to normality in trade, sta

An aggressive escalation in European military spending, military production is needed to just meet Ukrainian needs, before even considering the multi year conflict likely ahead there, the increased probability of

Going on about the magic of a guided shell is of little relevance when you also need the dumb shells in vast quantities.

Incorrect. And you know it. In fact this is an outright lie.

    No trouble.

The insidious thing about this kind of information warfare is that they won’t necessarily come out with a simple “Ukriane Bad! Russia good!” argument (although they might sometimes). Instead they’ll try to suggest something to inject doubt in supporting Ukraine fighting back. It’ll often come in the form of:

    • cries for peace (without any context for such peace)
    • Warnings of Russian nuclear attack (“fear Russia for they are all mighty”)
    • Suggestions that Ukraine actually started the war
    • Doubts of Ukraine being able win due to an arbitrary factor within Russia that might not even be real.

Many of the deleted bots also had their posts deleted, so you’ll have a hard time seeing these anymore. If your are on this thread for a while you’ll eventually see one turn up and the kind of messages that they try to spread. They’ll be gone soon after, but for a few hours / a day you’ll get to experience their current flavour of Russian forum propaganda.

Posts get deleted. As do accounts.

And Russian propaganda talking points disseminated on other social media sites end up here.

To take one example, claims that Ukraine was responsible for 12,000 civilian deaths pre-2022 in Donbas.

When in fact that is the total deaths, including combatants and civilians from both sides.

But Russian propagandists run with it, strip out all that nuance, and shout as if Ukraine deliberately killed 12,000 civilians.

If you read the thread and saw a poster claiming 12,000 civilian deaths - would you "locate it as obvious Russian propaganda"?

There are similar claims made about total civilian deaths in this war since 2022, they will effectively lie by citing a report from last summer which declared itself to be incomplete and re-present it as somehow being the actual number of civilian deaths up to this point.

    Do I?

I recall Zelensky claiming again and again they have evidence it wasn’t a Ukrainian defence missile and the US was wrong and then suddenly silence.

So can you offer anything else that I haven’t?

Looks like Kherson is to be evacuated due to Russian artillery strikes , hopefully the Ukrainians can remove the majority of people, and anyone who wants to stay dragged kicking and screaming away ,

You addressed one of many points I made in that post, and even that response was pretty much ‘you know nothing’… while adding no reason why you believe your belief should be accepted. Do you perhaps work alongside Manic Moran or have any strategic military experience?

Because I fail to see how you can compare Russian troop loses where they ran unprotected at Ukrainian defensive positions under threat of being fired on by their own. Whereas Russia have accurate artillery in the same way as Chesney Hawkes is known for his second hit song.

Will it be easy, no… but no way compatible to Russian losses. I have faith in Ukrainian strategy, the effectiveness of Bradley IFVs and equally in Russian incompetence.

Anyway, the whole point of the post you cherrypicked a response to was to show that Ukraine does not only have one chance at an offensive. Another clue is that you and pro Russian posters are the only ones putting this meme forward.

From what I read in the link you provide it is just plans being prepared to possibly be put into effect.

"He went on to say the increased shelling was the reason why an order was given to "work out ways to evacuate the civilian population in the event of mass shelling of the region in advance"."

I don't know how you are reading into being prepared for this to actually mean that it is decided on.

So far, Putin has subdued protesters even when they numbered in their 10's of thousands in Moscow and St Petersburg. and he subdued them using brute force, and after awhile, they petered out. No, that will not work. It will take a revolt by the Military, Silovicki or Oligarchs, or a combination of all of them. And Putin has an army dedicated to the security of the state ( IE: Putin) numbering 420'000 troop's, all sworn to protect Vladimir Putin. But even so, I'm sure that there is a plan to remove him being hatched, but he remains too strong at the moment.

In the early days of this war there were efforts by certain groups like anonymous etc to contact ordinary people in Russia through random telephone numbers and convince them that the whole invasion business is a bad idea and maybe they should stop it.

Now a year later I am finding I am trying to convince some of my friends here in Ireland of the very same thing. It’s becoming a lot more regular , in day to day interactions, that I am hearing lads spouting about NATO aggression and how Russia is being portrayed unfairly by the western media. it’s always the same type of guys , the confident d1ckhead type who were anti vax etc during covid. it’s like they all collectively visit the same rabbit holes of the internet. Although I was shocked when my vet had the same views too. Whatever Russia are doing on the propaganda front it is successful and has changed the landscape since Feb 22. To be having such conversations in your own back yard with ordinary people is very disconcerting. And I don’t even bring it up. They are so primed by the propaganda they are spouting it voluntarily.

but I keep coming back to the same retort with them. NATO did not aggressively expand and all those former soviet bloc countries APPLIED to join NATO. They know what Russia is like we know sweet F all about it. They have no answer and there is no answer to that. Those countries suffered by their proximity to Russia there is no two ways about it. We know nothing of what they went through here in Ireland. I challenge any apologist or tankie reading this to address that issue. I’d say I’ll be waiting. Why did all those countries rush to join NATO as soon as they could???

I think there's a tendency in many (all?) people to veer towards the easy path or answer, when an issue is not affecting them in a very real way. So they think, this war thing has dragged on too long now, my cost of living has gone up... maybe Russia was right and felt threatened by Europe, sure just let them own whatever these parts of Ukraine are and let's forget about it. Aren't they all Russians anyway, who cares yada yada. It's a lazy, self serving narrative but that's human nature. What will shake these people up, is when they get hit hard and directly affected. So say a Russian hack on bank services in the country that closes down the financial system for ordinary folk or the destruction of communication cables, pipelines. As long as Russia just threatens this and does nothing about it, their propaganda is an easy sell as it's what people want to believe.
