The Germans in WW2 were every bit as bad. The Japanese also, the Koreans in their war, the Chinese, the Vietnam war, the Middle East ... These horrendous crimes happen almost everywhere wars take place, it's disgusting but hardly unique to the Russian army.

Unique to Russians in this war. Pop up some links to Ukrainian atrocities...

So right now what seems unique to the Russian army, the extent and scale of it, and deliberate use of criminal mercenaries.

Attempting to minimise or downplay that with whataboutery entirely misses the point.

No I stand by what I and that hasn't changed one bit ,

No matter how many new accounts try to tell me I said this and I said that.

So unless you have anything new to bring up your wasting your time trying to jump on this .

Exactly 1 year ago on this day the Defenders of Mariupol/Azotal surrendered to Russian forces after a month of fighting and defending which drew over 10,000 Russians to city giving Ukraine time to shore up Defense's elsewhere, slowing the Russian progress at the time, over 500 Ukrainians were detained, tortured and put on sham trial's by a country that doesn't exist (DNR) while some have been freed through prisoners exchanges hundreds are still be held in occupied territories.

China and Russia about to jointly declare world war I think xi visit was to let putin know the date

Taiwan looking very dodgy at the minute

Western democracies has no stomach for conflict China sees Russia getting away with the grotesque violence against a sovereign state virtually unchallenged aside from a few delayed weapons delivery's

A no fly zone was needed at least

Now we have been to slow and late bye bye Taiwan

What, you mean that "enciclement" nonsense the Chinese pulled a few days ago because they got pissy (again) about Taiwan and the US being nice to eachother? Taiwan looking "dodgy"? "Bye Bye Taiwan?" My friend, kindly put down the People's Daily for a second and reflect.

The PLA is little better than the Russians when it comes to the quality of material and combat doctrine. The main difference with China is that they simply haven't pissed so much of what they have away in a poorly planned annex attempt. China has nothing to lose by waiting and making a few quick bucks from the Russians. They have everything to lose if they actually come forward and start a war.

Most likely, but there is alot of questionmarks around the whole Russian army in general,so nobody knows for sure

Being in storage is offcourse not the same as being operational

US is running out of javelins as well, but there is atleast alternative options if not,and it doesnt take much to take out an oldert54/55 or t62 anyway,i wouldnt even spare a javelin for that,a carl gustav is probably enough or an M72 Law

Being able to fight for 2 more years means very little in terms of what might be accomplished or the ultimate outcome.

Nazi Germany fought for two entire years past the war being irreversibly lost, with absolutely no chance of victory at any point during that time. All they were doing was staving off inevitable defeat by sacrificing millions of men in a completely unwinnable war.

Russian land forces have already lost the best of everything it had prior to the war, having made incredibly little progress at enormous cost.

At this stage they're looking at increasingly diminishing returns. Having massive stockpiles of outdated equipment can maybe ensure they'll keep going, maybe make some limited gains, but it's not going to lead to ultimate victory and it's not remotely sustainable.

Putin seems to operating out of the Hitler playbook, desperately hinging on something external happening that'll reverse their misfortune or allow them to stabilise on a permanent basis. Political fractures, ending of western support, etc.

From a purely military POV Russia can continue to do major damage and occupy Ukrainian lands at enormous cost to themselves and their economy, but it's not capable of mounting war-winning offensives.

Yes Hitler genuinely got excited about the death of FDR in early April 1945 thinking it was a sign that things were about to turn in his favour and the allies were about to collapse.

What I find intriguing with all those aerial shots offie, dos and fields of all types of tanks -in Moscovy lined up in THE OPEN and if there for a year they must have been subjected to very harsh weather. One must wonder how operational they all are - unless they are started frequently, anti freeze is used, etc, etc, etc. these aerial shots remind me of the hundreds of air planes parked up in some of the deserts in the US because , I assume , they are gone past their sell by date re fratigue, etc

Over 100 BT2s? Did they have that many?

And by the looks, that screenshotted tweet is a pro-orc account

Wouldn't surprise me in the least. Turkey is an unpleasant country and they have been playing and profiting off both sides, turning a blind eye to stolen Ukrainian grain and letting Orc weapons shipments pass.

If Ukraine gets proof of this it could get very awkward for Turkey. Bayraktar is currently building a drone manufacturing plant in Ukraine and a Ukrainian company is providing jet engines for Bayraktars next gen stealth drone and Turkey's Gezgin cruise missile.

I'd question the figure for sure.

It's one way to seed doubt, 2 lies, the 100 figure and the selling codes to Russia. People may debate the selling of codes, but just assume the 100 downed TB2's is true.

The selling of codes will be dismissed as the usual lies, but people will come back assuming the 100 drones shot down is correct.

The time that lunatic in New Zealand went on a rampage in a mosque it was live streamed. Then people started uploading the video all over Reddit on all sorts of unrelated threads .

Looked like a movie or a first person shooter video game what was happening It was hard to comprehend it was real life.

    Crazy stuff altogether

    More fake news.

This is supposed to be a discussion forum. Why do people keep throwing up this horseshit here every day without any commentary?

Either defend it, analyse it, criticize it, or else don't fukcing put it up!!!!

It's highly unlikely that Turkey would "sell codes" to Russia or otherwise compromise the drones they sold Ukraine. They were using the Ukraine war to advertise the drone and seek buyers.

It's true the TB2 featured less and less over time and by late 2022 was pretty much nowhere to be seen. Russia shot them all down. It's a crude low-cost drone, it doesn't have any stealth features, it doesn't have the same anti-EW features as more expensive Western products. It took Russia a while but once they got the hang of shooting them down (or using electronic warfare to crash them) it was a turkey shoot for them (pun slightly intended).

The fact is they did a lot of damage to Russian assets while they were active. Now Turkey has to go and make some better ones.

Yes, the story makes no sense. They are or were selling them to Ukraine (not giving, I don't think Turkey have given Ukraine so much as a bullet?) and with state of Ukraine's budget situation probably ultimately getting US/EU to pay.

They get to learn about them in a war risk-free, they got free advertising for their 2nd rate equipment (I think they have [edit: or, after googling it, are developing!] some better drones they keep for themselves?), even have some Eastern EU countries buying loads of the things, which is depressing given the direct military threat Turkey poses to 2 EU members. They will have some egg on their faces if that balloon goes up.

Even if that story is false IMO the economic assistance, sanctions busting and diplomatic support which NATO "ally" Turkey gives to Russia/Putin is far more important in balance of the war than anything they have provided Ukraine. They don't get criticised enough for that.

I qualified the post with "???" You should know what that means. It means it is something that can be discussed. Don't use language like that with me again. You are on my ignore list.

The Nrs that count are not the totals, but the tanks/ trucks/ vehicles etc. that are roadworthy. No point having1'000 in stock, but only 150 or so are actually operational. And as has been proven in the past multiple times, the Russian military logistics is in a woeful state.

Taiwan is safe. China only has the ability to land 25k men amphibiously they totally lack the hardware (Germany same problem in WW2). It's estimated around 2 million men would need to be landed to take the island and that's just not happening in this decade. Taiwan straits are very treacherous to cross in the good season and outright impossible most of the time. Taiwanese are dug in like ticks (70 years prep). It's all hot air from China. The best they could do is launch missiles en masse for spite at civilian targets and infrastructure.

    T-72 T-62 T-54/55 all totally outclassed

From breach to cease-fire, the battles of Desert Storm lasted a bit under a hundred hours. Between 25,000 and 50,000 Iraqi soldiers were killed and 80,000 captured. Of the 219 U.S. soldiers who died, 154 perished in battle, too many of them in friendly fire.

About 3,300 Iraqi tanks were destroyed in desert battles and by air attack. The coalition lost 31.
