Mbilli vs. Gongora was a good fight last Thursday from Montreal at 168. Worth watching.

That Okolie fight was a awful spectacle

Agreed. Light had nothing at all to offer.

Okolie looks like he could be better. Has great physical attributes but doesn’t seem to put it all together.

What channel was it on? I was watching BT sports. Not a bad main event bit scrappy

Okolie has an awful style. Horrid spectacle last night

Aye I just heard the run down on it on Talksport it seems to be the case. He has lots of power but seems far too tall to be a CW and shorter guys can tie him up to ruin the fight. He wasn’t up against much last night. Similar to other divisions there are opponents in Billam Smith and Riakaphore who would make for good fights but they’re being kept well apart to chase after different governing bodies and their versions of the belts. I do think he likely beats both of those, that said. Boring enough division without the main man.

Just reading that plant lost last night in a points decision

A very good fight by all accounts. Benavidez piled on the pressure mid rds till the end leaving Plant purely in D mode

Anyone know what was going on with Plant's gym?

Saw a video during the week where he was being told to get out but couldn't really make out what was going on

Plant looked good through 5 and picked up a big lead but Benavidez absolutely battered him in the second half of the fight. Life altering beating. I think Benavidez won every round from 6-12.

    Very good card. Worth watching.

Lomachenko vs Haney just announced for May 20th. Great fight. I can see Loma winning this one.

You know, I think you could be right. Haney seems to be getting lauded a bit too early. He has beaten nobody, and nobody near to the kind of style and game Loma can bring.

Haney has height and reach and length. But Loma has feet, angles, stamina and workrate. I reckon Loma and his constant “work” could befuddle and bedazzle Haney, who really likes everything g at his pace.

Can Loma show up in top shape with his shoulder injuries? Interesting one this, can't quite call it, at his best I'd pick Loma but I'm not sure any more.

I will assume he’s going to fight relatively injury free.

He hasn't been using his right hook for quite a few fights now and it's very obvious when you look back to his earlier fights.

That handicap is why I'm not so sure of the outcome. Otherwise I'd fancy Lomachenko.

Lomachenko won't win 3 rounds. He gets past that jab and he is getting hugged to death.

If it's just the jab then you're assuming Loma eats jabs? Loma is an excellent defensive fighter when he needs to be.

Loma's main issue is Haney's arm length, his height and his reach. Yes, this lends in well for Haney and his jab, but I think Haney will need a good bit more to show us he is better tan Loma, and to show us that he can stamp his authority.

Campbell the Crusher Hatton first round stoppage.

I didn't see Okolie's last fight, but you can 100% put the blame in the huge amount of holding in Okolie fights on Okolie.

Usually it's not smaller men tying him up, it's him tying them up because he refuses to fight on the inside. Of course it's the referees job not to let him do that for a full 12 rounds, but few of them seem interested in preventing it.

He's generally a bad fighter to watch, although he does have plenty of ability.

Need to look at his whole career now.

He was crap for most of it anyway.

I really liked Khan as an amateur, but as a pro he really was amateurish. Pitter patter blazing hands for the sake of it.

He had no inside game, no chin, no innate survival skills. No clever feet, just kinda' running around hoping for the best!

Lost every single time he proper stepped up, because his predictable style was exposed.

Terrible timing for Conor Benn as well ?

If he had a chin he would have been very successful but he had a very thin glass jaw.
