    This is pretty abysmal tbf.

Paul isn't a pro fighter, surely it's career suicide if fury doesn't win it handy.

Fury knocked down in last round

Fury 5-3 at worst for me.

    Draw incoming I suspect...

That US judge better not be allowed ever judge an actual fight.

What a spectacle, way better than Mayweather last night but definitely trash boxing at its worse.

Good to see the decision went the right way. Joke of a fight but Jake Paul being beaten by a poor fighter is only good for the sport

Where did they find the ref.

A bit embarrassing from Fury tbh, he beat a youtuber who can't box and he's acting like he's won a world title, Paul and Fury both are going nowhere in boxing.

Delighted with the money more than anything I'd say!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,719 ✭✭✭✭ted1

in fairness he’s walking away with the full purse, 10 million reasons to celebrate

the fight it self was a pure hug fest and you can see JP had no business in the ring and Tommy is riding on his brothers name

  • Moderators Posts: 8,900 ✭✭✭x PyRo

Thought Fury was all right considering the level he's at. Doubt he'll go much higher!

It was a good fight between 2 fine men. Tommy had a bit too much skill, footwork and better jab. Tommy did enough to win despite the knockdown.

Fury did alright for a novice pro considering the pressure he’s under and the money that was on the table

nice payday for a 23 year old and a rematch on the cards too

    The internet isn’t for everyone

  • Tommy will clean up now with a rematch with Jake and a fight in Wembley v KSI

Aye I reckon he could squeeze both in this year and his bank balance would be fantastic after he likely wins those 2 "fights.

However after that I dunno where he can go, he gets battered by anyone decent .

Most fighters at his level would get battered by anyone decent, he still needs to learn the sport properly in the ring if that’s the path he chooses

Allen Babic and Johnny fisher have had a few more fights than Tommy at pro level and they get battered by someone decent, it’s all about fighting at your level and Tommy needs to start at the bottom and get area title and then level up

    The internet isn’t for everyone

Hard to see him do that now, if he has since he rematches Paul, gets ksi then retires, seems a nice kid and I'm not sure he has the stomach for the long road, plus he and his missus are loaded anyway!

Tommy has his level and it’s very domestic/basic. He goes no further.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,246 ✭✭✭✭OmegaGene

The celebrity boxing route would be the easier option and most lucrative, tbe followers and modelling contracts they both have can go to shot over night so money in the bank is much better

would ksi take a chance on losing to fury it’s only appealing to the U.K. audience and Paul could change his mind too

    The internet isn’t for everyone

  • He won’t need to go further. He will earn in 3 fights more then most professional boxers earn in their career.

I’m not talking about money. I’m talking about career sports progression in terms of success/levels.. I know, boxing today, sadly, is over-consumed with money.

very hard to motivate a 23 year old with plenty of money who just made millions, to do the hard needs that he would need to do to see how good he is. he clearly isnt a prodigy!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,994 ✭✭✭Brock Turnpike

That was deeply impressive from Fury last night. The whole division will be on alert now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,954 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

Fury is getting stick but he was miles better than Paul ,

Paul was the one who was petrified an actual boxing match would break out, Tommy got called for holding but it was Jake who was doing it way more,

Fury won pretty easy i think Paul landed two clean shots in the whole fight & won one round , Even the last round when Tommy touched the canvas he bossed the round before & after

Tommy had only 7 amateur fights all in a 10week period to say he boxed his whole life is absolutely wrong ,

Neither will ever make it but Tommy is streets ahead & is only 23 , he needs to leave his Da as a trainer

Tommy should take the rematch & then challenge the other brother after his mid fight antics , easy good money to be made that he won't make in the real sport

Paul falling and leaning in with his head after the 1st round onwards.

A half decent amateur boxer would have copped that straight away, stepped back and clocked Paul on his way in. So bad.

Got a good laugh out of the BT commentators giving it the "we don't need that carry on" reaction to Paul's brother calling out the Fury family between rounds.
