Religous types are traditionally immune to self reflection, spotting cognitive dissonance and hypocrisy. It's pretty much a necessary requirement.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

    This is not negotiation:

    Japanese surrender WW2.jpg

Where the Japanese Foreign Mininister was told to 'sign here' on the deck of a US aircraft carrier. If you want to pretend that was a negotiation, then fine, but it proves you wrong. Negotiations are not an inevitable end point, much as those who worship diplomacy and guile, would like to think otherwise

Your idea of negotiations is for Russia to tell Ukraine that it is keeping all of the terrirory it's forces now occupy, and if you were to tell me Putin was also going to demand all the territory along the coast up to Transnistria, including Odessa, I wouldn't be in the least suprised, as he's got this mental idea that he always gets what he wants when he uses extreme and obnoxious violence. He has in the past due to western weakness, but not this time.

    Ukraine supported by.jpg

Russia is not winning this one or getting what it wants this time. The economics of this conflict are so stacked in Ukraine's favour, Russia, with an at best economy the size of Italy's, and now lower export earnings than Ireland, can not win beacuase the west can outspend it with ease.

The Cold War ended because the economic strain on the USSR trying to keep up with merely the US spend on Star Wars, resulted in economic collapse. This is also the endpoint if Russia tries to keep this up.

Yes, I will go with what I say because it is based on factual reading from multi independant news sources. I will not buy an ounce of your lies.

Are you prepared yet to provide evidence for the Ukrainian army dragging people off the streets at gunpoint to force them to fight? No? Then I am perfectly justified in calling you a liar Mario.

Putin and his publicists have said many times what their plans for Ukraine are, just look it up, Google Margarita Simonyan, Solovyov, or Medvedev. What you or I would like is just a personal opinion, now when Zelensky starts talking about negotiations, that will be the time to start taking talks seriously. But personally ( again) given Putins murderous rapacious thieving horde's recent history in places that they illegally took position and control of, I'd say that's highly unlikely. Russians killed a lot of Ukrainians in the beginning when the Ukrainians were not as well armed or prepared as they are now, but now, Russians will deservedly pay a very high price for any Ukrainians they kill. Slava Ukraini !!!

"What he want's" You mean what he can steal, don't you Mario? Because that's what he is, a thief. Unfortunately for him, Ukrainians wioll not allow their Country to be stolen, and most of the civilized world agree with them, and help to prevent this theft. The rest of the world sees Putin for what he is, a murderous Mafia Thug.

So because imperialism occured in the past, we should stand for it today? That's a great approach...

I don't thing religion has come into the equation at all when Ireland decided on its stance toward this invasion, it is the fact that it is an invasion that has surely informed our stance? "Oh but the invasion of Iraq etc.." - Again, two wrongs don't make a right. We don't have to allow past wrongs set the bar for what is right in the future.

Can you not see how much fear these would strike in the minds of the Orc's - a Gay eagle is 10 times scarier to an Orc than a Gray eagle? Like the siren attached to Stuka bombers in WW2 to strike psychological terror in those it was attacking.

Delighted to see the Babiš is well on his way to losing the Czech presidential election. A crook and a Putin lickarse, he is at 42% against a General who was formerly 2nd in command of NATO forces.

Just yesterday Babiš said he would refuse a NATO article 5 call if Poland were invaded by Russia. It was probably an outburst during a heated debate but Czech voters will not like that AT ALL, and neither did the Poles.

We'll soon have a Luigi or Yoshi registered soon enough. Unfortunately they will never run outta usernames. It does be entertaining at least hearing the newest slant on why Russia is good and the West/NATO are evil etc...

Oryx seems to have some kind of maga hatted agenda, probably another case of those who live in places immune to consequences shouting the loudest about what should be done.

Lets not forget, Belgium dont actually owe anything to Ukraine, although its good that theyve found it within themselves to give large quantities small arms. On a list of individual contributions someone is always going to be bottom ranked.

And lets remember Zelensky himself long ago publicly appealed to nato for just 1% of its fighter jets. Just 1%. No joy. Will we hear about that foot dragging, or that failure to wake up?

Doubt it. Criticism is strictly to be reserved for European countries who actually share a land route with the rogue, heavily armed country a couple days drive away.

Diplomacy and nuance is always for pu55ies and "quislings" when you can just sail away home if theres any problem. Just withdraw overnight, like Afghanistan. Home to your distant island behind a convenient channel, or your steel ringed mountain of resources, where your worst neighbor is Mexico.

Putin is a dictator. Putin should face justice at the Hague. All good Russians should work to depose Putin. Russias war in Ukraine is illegal and morally wrong.

A squadron of F16s and ATACMS would end this war in fairly short order. What's with the hold up?

Oryx seems to have some kind of maga hatted agenda

    Bizarre view.

Oryx is an OSINT site based in the Netherlands run by ex-Bellingcat defense analysts. It quite possibly has the most accurate stats on weapons and equipment damaged, destroyed and captured in the conflict, as well as keeping close tabs on mil equipment in and out of the country. Better than most large press outlets, who often quote his figures.

The Ukrainians themselves have criticised Belgium's contribution last year.

The rest of your post is equally bizarre and comes across as some personal rant.

While that's a nice map, it's fair to say that support from a lot of those countries is little more than thoughts and prayers.

The US and a few EU countries are supporting Ukraine with cash and war material but that's it.

I would hope the next step is the US troops enter Ukraine as peacekeepers and force Vlad to be a lot less trigger happy with his missiles.

Video doing the rounds on telegram channels of a T72B3 ambushing 2 mechanised companies, last Summer or so in Kherson region

Shows tanks and APCs in a column on the left get hit by tank fire & artillery, and 2nd column arrives on the other side of the field. T72 ambushing is out of frame for most of the video, drone shows it at start and end. At 1:40 a tank round goes right through one of the APCs and strikes another not too far behind it near the treeline, insane.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 561 ✭✭✭Bitcoin

It would. The ATACMS would cripple orc logistics, the F16s would destroy anything the orcs tried to put in the air.

Does Oryx at any point criticize Nato?

You know, ... like Zelensky did, on tv, in no uncertain terms.

If no, then theres a clear bias.

If yes, then by the standards of some they must be another resident of Orwell rd.

    Which will it be.

    Ill wait.

A squadron generally means somewhere between 12 and 16 aircraft, depending on the doctrine of the particular air force in question. That's not a lot of aircraft, especially if you take into consideration that a few of those aircraft will be down for maintenance and/or repair. For Ukraine to use them effectively, you're going to be looking at multiple squadrons, significant support equipment on the ground, trained technicians for line maintenance and repair, and of course significant amounts of ammunition, from AMRAAMs & Sidewinders for air-to-air combat to HARMs, Paveway & unguided bombs, rocket pods and similar weapons for air to ground use.

Should Ukraine get all that? Absolutely, and if Germany can get a squadron or two of Tornados IDS together that aren't completely clapped out, then Ukraine should get those as well, they'd be perfectly suited for the type of ultra-low flying that seems to be the norm in this war. Also, I'D love to see a last hurrah for the good old "Klappdrachen!" But Ukraine will need the quantity as well as the quality for these systems to be effective.

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

But the orcs can shoot them down ,

    12 aircraft won't win a war unfortunately
