Despite all the good advice above, I will be very upset if we don't receive the results today 😄

I'm gonna call it for the 27th. Any day before that will be a bonus.

They must be at least starting the review of the applications to get a head start on the stage. Online tests should show results straight away so they know the OOM.

They probably have to go through all the room scans and proctoring, but the testing window closed 38 days ago..

Oh wow, I didn't realise quite how long ago it was!

I'm really not expecting to progress to the next stage of this campaign but I'd still like to know how I did with it.

I rang them yesterday and was told in classic PAS question-begging style that the reason it has taken this long is because "there was a delay".

    ...

    ...

    ...

    He also said:

    1. Seven to ten more days.
    2. They are not short-listing based on application forms - these results will be purely based on the online tests.

this year the assessments were given by a different provider from last year so maybe there was a hiccup or two along the way

The recent inter departmental HEO from initial test to shortlisting result took 5 months, so, it’s definitely not a sprint.

That could well be it - but saying "It's late because there's been a delay" is much like saying "It's raining because drops of water are falling from the sky". You almost have to salute PAS' mastery of appearing to say something while saying absolutely nothing at all 😄

Its been 6 weeks now since the online test portal closed.... i've never waited this long for test results.

Agreed, I am getting so fed up. We all know they had our results from the minute we hit the submit button. We know they are not shortlisting at the same time as would be a waste of resources. Crazy...

    Just got my results!

Ah relax! I just wanted to feel what it was like to say it.

Genuinely though, to those who don't already work in public services, I don't know what the concern is about the "delay".

It will be ready when it's ready, as frustrating as that is for all concerned.

I lost my tenner anyway 😂

Im kind of over it now, i don't think I was coming in very high anyway so either way it doesn't matter.

It is the longest I have ever waited for results even taking Christmas into account and I think if there is some problem, it would be fair if PAS communicated that with applicants. These competitions are draining as it is and would be better to be told a timeline, or if there are issues.

Best of luck when they do finally come out

Like others I'm so fed up waiting to hear the results of these exams (not confident that I will get through however, but just want to know one way or the other. Anyway I emailed them today and this is the response I got:

The Stage 1 – online assessment results will issue later this month. We are operating a demand led recruitment approach for this competition, so we are only calling candidates forward when there is a demand from departments to fill vacancies. Therefore, candidates’ applications will be shortlisted in batches based on their total score from stage 1 and demand for vacancies in regions.

I then asked: Can you tell me at what point candidates will know if they are still in the running for progression based on demand? Is your reference to later this month when we will be told if we have reached the qualifying standard for progression? And finally, is later this month, later in January?

Ans: The stage 1 – online assessment results will issue before the end of January. The results message will also indicate the candidates being brought forward to shortlisting in batch 1.

So, it does seem that we will hear the results 'before the end of January', but even if you get through goodness knows when you will hear from them again...very disappointing!

Thanks Gargoyle I also emailed them today and got the standard results from stage 1 will issue later this month.

It's ridiculous to leave people hanging this long, it clearly stats in there charter that they will aim to issue results in a timely manner, 6-7 weeks is far from timely.

I was hoping it will be this week but i'm thinking next week now at this stage not that i have any chance of getting through short listing if i pass stage 1 😅

    Finally

Results are out. Shortlisting based off forms to commence for 3 regions - Dublin, Meath, Offaly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41 DonutLike

    Now, just a 6 - 12 month wait for shortlisting 🤣

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45 frenchman

Scored 1157 for Dublin, just outside the 1159 for shortlisting. I am assuming / hoping there will be several rounds like in previous years!

But seriously though, how long do you think shortlisting will take? They do it based on the application form, don't they?

I'm around 150 OOM, so I suppose I should prepare myself for a long wait...

I would assume that there will be additional rounds. Just a case of hanging in there for a few months, I suppose
