    A bloody great cast.

That was a grand time to finish it, they would have been just repeating itself otherwise, if anyone is missing it I'd suggest just start from the beginning again.

Westworld gone south. They could have redeemed themselves in a proper final series, if they found the plot that was lost.

Disney is actively looking to develop an Indiana Jones TV show for Disney+, Variety has learned exclusively from sources.

The Mouse House and Lucasfilm have specifically been bringing up the possibility of a streaming show set in the world of the globe trotting archaeologist in general meetings with writers of late, sources say. They are still looking for a writer to take on the project, thus no plot details are available. Given that, it is unknown if a series would serve as a prequel to or spinoff of the film franchise, or if it would tie into the upcoming fifth Indiana Jones film, similar to how Disney has tied its Marvel shows on Disney+ into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Reps for Lucasfilm declined to comment.

Should a series move forward, it would not be the first show about Indiana Jones to make it to air. “The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles” aired for two seasons on ABC from 1992-1993, with four made-for-TV specials airing on The Family Channel (now Freeform) between 1994 and 1996. Ford made a cameo appearance in one episode, but the show focused primarily on the early years of the character with Sean Patrick Flanery and Corey Carrier playing him at different times in his life. George Hall played an elderly Jones, bookending each episode.

Neighbours is back: Amazon resurrects hit soap

Three months after it stopped broadcasting, the Australian soap is being revived for a new series by the streaming giant, starring favourite old characters

Amazon clearly believe that everybody needs good Neighbours. After the long-running antipodean soap opera stopped broadcasting in July, the streaming giant has decided to save it.

A new series will start filming in Australia next year, after the production company Fremantle signed a deal with Amazon Freevee. A number of fan favourites are due to return, including Stefan Dennis as Paul Robinson, Alan Fletcher as Karl Kennedy, Jackie Woodburne as Susan Kennedy and Ryan Moloney as Toadie Rebecchi.

“Neighbours is a unique series with a powerful connection with its fans across the world,” said Jennifer Mullin, Fremantle’s CEO. “We cherish the show and all those who have been part of its incredible story over many decades, so we are thrilled that we have found a new home.”

    Silk: Spider Society

‘Spider-Man’ Spin-Off Series ‘Silk’ Lands Order At MGM+ & Amazon With Angela Kang As Showrunner; Forms Part Of Suite Of Marvel Series From Sony TV

A slew Marvel characters are heading to the small screen after MGM+, the linear network formerly known as Epix, and Amazon Prime Video ordered a suite of live-action series from Sony Pictures Television.

Spider-Man spin-off series Silk: Spider Society, which has been in the works for some time, will be the first show to emerge from the pact with The Walking Dead’s Angela Kang set as showrunner.

The deal is a culmination of a complex web of rights that meant the series will have to debut first on a linear network, in this case MGM+, which is set to be relaunched with its new name in January. MGM+ will have the first window in the U.S. and the series will then air on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service in the States. Internationally, the series will also air on the Amazon streamer in 240 countries and territories......

Quentin Tarantino Reveals Plans to Shoot an Eight-Episode TV Series Next Year

Quentin Tarantino has disclosed that he has plans to step back into television, looking to shoot an eight-episode series in 2023. The film director shared news of the project Wednesday night while promoting his new book, “Cinema Speculation,” at a New York event hosted by Elvis Mitchell.

The filmmaker wasn’t forthright with narrative or production details around the project. Tarantino has worked in television before, directing two episodes of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” in 2005. Since then he has flirted with venturing back, with reports emerging in February that the director was in talks to helm installments of FX’s “Justified” revival.

The N.Y. conversation covered a lot of ground, with Tarantino touching on other projects he’s circled over the years. The writer-director shared that he wrote a play before “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” was completed. He also stated that he was approached to do a rewrite of Samuel L. Jackson’s 2000 “Shaft” reboot but rejected the offer.

Asked which comic book he would adapt if given the choice, Tarantino stated that he would be interested in bringing Marvel’s “Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos” to the screen. “Sgt. Fury” follows Nick Fury, portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the escapades of the eponymous World War II unit, which appeared in 2011’s “Captain America: The First Avenger.”

Whether Tarantino proceeds with the television series remains somewhat of an uncertainty. In recent years, the director circled producing and possibly directing a “Star Trek” entry after making a pitch to J.J. Abrams, though he later shared that he was “steering away” from the project.

“Cinema Speculation,” Tarantino’s new collection of essays on films that were formative for him, is now available to purchase.

Mike Flanagan to Adapt Stephen King's Dark Tower for Amazon

In the wake of moving from an overall deal with Netflix to Amazon, writer/director Mike Flanagan and his longtime executive producer Trevor Macy have revealed that they have acquired the rights to a screen adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower. Flanagan said to Deadline in an interview that he’s already written a pilot script and season outlines for the show, and imagines a series that will run for five seasons and culminated by two self-contained feature films.

The Dark Tower is, at it’s core, a Western. It fuses science-fantasy and horror and sets in the frame of a classic Americana tradition. The plot follows Roland of Gilead as he chases down the mysterious man in black. It’s a very contained story, weaving worldbuilding and travelogue, and when it was first published as a series fo five short stories, fans immediately latched onto it’s genre-mashing and King’s grim style. King later revised and expanded the Dark Tower series, which now stands at eight novels.

    Witch Mountain

Witch Mountain’ Pilot Starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Isabel Gravitt & Levi Miller Ordered By Disney

Witch Mountain has had a blinking pilot green light since March when Disney+ also commissioned the opening of a writers room for additional scripts.

Co-written by Fickett and Matalas, the series is a modern reinvention of the cult classic that takes place in the shadow of Witch Mountain, following two teens, Tia (Gravitt) and Ben (Miller) that develop strange abilities and discover their sleepy suburb may not be as idyllic as it seems.

Gravitt’s Tia is a straight-A student who’s regarded by her classmates as “perfect,” although she regards herself as flawed. She’s terrified of failure and is plagued by nightmares and fears that her late father’s schizophrenia is starting to exhibit itself in her. Tia has “hallucinations” in which people around her step outside their living bodies and voice their deepest, darkest fears and desires and rages.

Miller plays Ben, a troubled teen who makes ends meet by writing papers for other students but he’s got a hot temper and if he slugs another student, he’ll be expelled. Ben is best friends with Corey, his co-worker at the diner. He’s recently made a troubling discovery about himself, he can force others in his vicinity to move according to his will and there’s something drawing him inexplicably in the direction of Tia.

Howard stars as Audrey, Tia’s (Gravitt) devoted and loving mother. Her husband died from a mental illness and she tries to reassure a fretful Tia that she shows no sign of following her father’s dark spiral. A warm mama bear type, but like everyone in this town, not everything is as it seems.

Norwood portrays Corey, Ben’s closest friend, an outsider with tattoos, Corey is a very mature teen who comes across older than they are. They are one step away from expulsion and puts more care into looking like a My Chemical Romance song that became an anime fan. Corey works at the local diner alongside Ben and is in his circle of trust, but doesn’t appreciate it when he tries to act as their protector.

Kelly is Peter, Tia’s closest male friend. Peter is lovesick on the subject of Tia, but she’s unaware of his charms, and equally unaware of his devotion. But when Tia expresses her concerns about the seemingly impossible happenings around them, she learns that Peter’s observant, cautious nature might be an asset in figuring out the mystery around them.

Fickett and Matalas executive produce. Augustine Frizzell (Euphoria) will direct and is executive producer on the pilot. John Fox and John Davis of Davis Entertainment are executive producing as well as Gary Marsh. The Disney Branded Television series is produced by ABC Signature, part of Disney Television Studios.

The Disney film franchise is based on the 1968 novel, Escape to Witch Mountain by Alexander Key. The films center around extraterrestrial children who must return to their home planet, while ensuing figures attempt to intercept the aliens before they can escape. The first film in the franchise, Escape To Witch Mountain, was released in 1975. It was followed by Return From Witch Mountain in 1978, Beyond Witch Mountain in 1982, Disney’s Escape To Witch Mountain in 1995 and Race To Witch Mountain in 2009.

Netflix has opted not to order a third season of Warrior nun . The decision was made a month after the Nov. 10 release of the fantasy drama’s second season.

Warrior Nun‘s second season ratings performance follows the pattern of other scripted series which have been canceled by Netflix as the streamer evaluates viewing vs. cost for their renewal decisions. Season 2 spent just three weeks in Netflix’s Weekly Top 10 for English-language series, peaking at #5. Warrior Nun has built a small yet passionate fan base, which helped it secure a second season renewal but was not enough to sustain the series in the long run

‘God of War’ TV Series a Go at Amazon

The streamer has greenlit a series based on the award-winning PlayStation game God of War. The Wheel of Time’s Rafe Judkins will serve as showrunner on the adaptation, and Oscar nominees Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (Children of Men, Iron Man, The Expanse) are writing and executive producing with Judkins.

Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios are producing God of War in association with PlayStation Productions.

God of War is a compelling, character-driven franchise that we believe will captivate our global customers as much with its expansive and immersive worlds as its rich storytelling,” Vernon Sanders, head of global television at Amazon Studios, said in a statement. “We are honored to share in the adventure of exploring the God of War mythology in such a momentous way with Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions and [game developer] Santa Monica Studio.”

Kinda the same level as the Witcher from only hear about it's game.

House of Cards got six seasons, imagine. But that was an early show and also regarded as a “flagship” that viewers took our Netflix subs to see. Stranger Things is probably also getting a longer run for similar reasons.

Netflix’s interest is keeping people subbed to the service. Up until recently they haven’t been selling ads and so viewer loyalty to particulars shows isn’t as important as viewers loyalty to the service as a whole.
