Can't get a part needed to pass the NCT - anyone been in similar situation?

Hi yes tried them and MSL and and auto doc. Just got a reply from another mb guy I know he says 2 other customers need the same parts.

@Del2005 Unfortunately, I agree with you. I suppose if would be beyond the realm of possibility that the insurance company would be sympathetic if this was brought to their attention now, considering that most cars of this age (including my model as it was an option) would not have ABS?

Thank you for the very kind offer! Unfortunately the old one was destroyed during the removal process (I should have checked availability before doing that) so not sure how to get dimensions, maybe measure the hole it goes into and the fixing point.

I think the way to go would be to find an existing sensor that has similar electrical characteristics from perhaps a similar era Mercedes and remove it from it's body.

I think I'll try the complete upright route but perhaps i might need to take you up at a later date?

Just an update, I reposted my query on the club's forum but in the W126 section, got a lead on a company in the US which have it listed. Sent an email checking it's in stock so awaiting a reply. Unfortunately they don't ship outside the US so hopefully Address Pal will work

Hi, my German is not the best (aka zero) but I did find a few without even the hole for the sensor. Did you find ones with the hole and the sensor in place. The problem is the sensor gets destroyed removing it so I need an upright with the sensor in place from a donor car.

Would you mind posting a link if you found the above?
