    Ah I thought you meant it done it daily. I'll watch for it on my own.

    The car does do some random things. I found out to my surprise recently Auto Hold doesn't work if the door is open after I moved the car 20cm and went to get out and the car started to move off.

    Dropping off in the morning.

    * Battery & software

    * Puddle lights x 2

    * Foggy headlight

    * New tyres x 4

    * Effing annoying glove box rattle

    They called today asking to reschedule as the puddle lights aren't in, but I'm heading that way tomorrow anyway so I stuck with the date.

    I suspect that they'll soon discover they're not able to do the lot in a day anyway so they'll have to delay.

    what tyres you go for and how much VW charging? also, don't suppose you know what depth they at (mine are at 3mm rear, 4mm front - 21K on the clock, bridgestones that came with the First)

    I think I read somewhere that if you floor it (or nearly) in Eco, it switches to Comfort because you're demanding more power than Eco allows.

    The red light happens me a lot usually when cars are parked.

    It appears at times that it brakes itself say at pedestrian crossing, I'd pull up and it appears to brake as if it detects someone and brakes hard, same with reversing if it feels I am going to hit something, don't know whether it's just weird brakes or actually thinking for itself. I have the tour 5.

    I have the service pack, so they're free, but I'm limited in my options. I told them I wouldn't accept Bridgestones though, I think it's Goodyear maybe.

    As expected, the car wasn't finished today. They did admit that it was their first one and that VW had told them it's at least a 4hr job. I told them that I had seen lots of people being in for 2-3 days.

    I've got an ID4 loaner so thankfully no fuel bill.

    Was in Frank Keane Liffey Valley yesterday. Was checking for a ID3 for the wife and we test driven their Demo model ID3 Tech (211) which is also on sale. 26000km on the clock. The car originally retailed for around 50k according to him and now he is selling it for 39k just after a year. The depreciation is crazy. Driving an ID4 Life myself and was really surprised the price dropped that crazy. Any idea why???

    Its €50k before grant. €45k OTR so he is giving €5k off after more than a year and 26k km's... small enough depreciation to be honest considering it will have been given a tough enough life for that 26k km's and they will want to move it on quickly before the end of the year, before it becomes a 2yr old car (based on reg).

    depreciation not too bad ROTR was just over 40K, wouldn’t be the first tall tale made by a salesperson

    I asked but with all the extras it was 50k after the grand according to him but who knows. Thx

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 624 ✭✭✭handpref

    Yep

    Checked the 1/7/21 I had saved and it’s listed as €42,723 for tech 204

    I understood the dealer demos could not be sold for 2 years?

    At €40,254 that’s only depreciation of €1254 for 1.5 years and 26,000km,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 91 ✭✭Bioscaller

    No idea thats what he said. They have new stock coming so he is gonna let that one go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 91 ✭✭Bioscaller

    He said it was a 50k car after the grant probably without rebate. Not sure how much the tech version with all extras was last year tbh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,451 ✭✭✭KCross

    I have the July 2021 brochure. Price below...

    image.png

    So, €42k OTR. He was definitely talking about pre-incentive price. A shady sales tactic trying to make you believe it was good value at €39k.

    That's minuscule depreciation for a 1.5yr old car.

    The current price for a tech isn’t far off 50k, if you could get one. He may be basing on that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,376 ✭✭✭Thumper Long

    There’s a huge amount of gouging going on with main dealers, I’ve seen an ID4 1st edition which was 43Kish new going for 49K in a main dealers 2nd hand dealership, 2 years old and a fair few miles on the clock there is 0 value in the 2nd hand market

    Yeah most likely, I have questioned him about that because I bought an ID4 2 weeks ago in a different dealer but he was referring to extras bla bla etc. However, wasn't the best experience with them anyway expect the phone call my wife had beforehand. Best to avoid Dublin dealers. Got my ID4 in Tipperary and trade in value for my Tiguan was much better tbh than what I got offered around here.

    Well a familiar tale, my update still isn't done so I'll be trucking around in this ID4 til Tuesday at least.

    Puddle lights, headlight and tyres are done. They still haven't tackled finding the glove box rattle yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 624 ✭✭✭handpref

    Second that -

    Even the new market is a compromise given the ‘life dx’ models of the id3 /id4 don’t have blind spot assist or matrix lights- €54 or so k for an id4 life dx is a lot to drop on a car that’s missing what should be standard tech.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,408 ✭✭✭✭DrPhilG

    The ID4 I'm driving is a bit pish. They told me the value (it's a 221 with 4k km) was €55k.

    It has manual seat adjustment, no massage function, no HUD, those I can understand. No Matrix headlights at a push. But no cameras at all, not even reverse?

    Absolute bog standard spec.

    The base spec IDs look like terrible value for the asking price, especially compared to last year. If I remember correctly the ID4 1st sold for 42k!

    That wasn't the 1st at 33 k.

    The main production cars after the 1st edition had a Life entry level model at something like 32700 after grants with 58 kwh battery.

    Before the supply chain issues started getting worse there was supposed to be a 45 kwh version for 30 k.

    But supply chain issues must have scuppered that.

    So did I, well a little more because metallic was extra. And there was a further 1 or 2K off those prices with incentives.

    The same spec ID.4 as the ID.3 tour is well into the fifties! For a bit more metal and not much else. It’s no wondering they are prioritising their production.
